  1. Very creative KC. Did you code that yourself? What was it done in? Very interested to know. Thanks for yet another fine contribution. Tom.
  2. Not Currently, but the thing you probably have not done is turn off AniBak = in the theme.ini of the theme your using. This can make a big differene on old gfx cards.
  3. I can't duplicate the problem. I disabled my network card, and GameEx loaded as normal. Any networking is done on low priority background threads, so GameEx should load as normal. It certainly does not wait for a connection or anything. So really not sure what was going on. Maybe you needed a reboot?
  4. Yeah, thats the issue with the new drivers, before I put in the fix. Since you upgraded drivers your getting it.
  5. Here is the latest GameEx without the patch for ATI cards. Could you confirm its ok? The changes to alpha blending was a change to the actual transition the transition is longer but should look better. Can you let me know what you think? GameEx.zip
  6. Actually the fixes are for newer ATI drivers, which broke the 3d transitions. The patch was to make them run on the newer drivers, but the side effect is they run slower on the older drivers. Upgrading the drivers wont help, as the latest ATI drivers are still broken. Im going to either add an option for the older drivers, or detect driver version in the next release. Wont be long.
  7. There is already an option for this.
  8. Hi, just to clear things up, thats the default log included with gameex install. Its actually the log of my development pc. Not many folks have a quad core Xeon, and 4GB Ram The 0mb video memory is because it was last run under a remote desktop session.
  9. Can you please get back and let me know if that worked? As no doubt others have the same problem. Thanks. Tom
  10. Yeah I know, see post above. Go get 8.76.
  11. This is fixed in 8.76. Now available.
  12. You can import from other locations, select the first item in the drop down Box.
  13. Its nothing to do with this particular version. you need to click the drop down, and select an emu, or click browse for file at the top of list
  14. This is due to the ATI fix in 8.74. Its meant to help with the drivers since sept 06 which are a bit buggered. GameEx does the transition in software for ATI cards now which is slower, but better than 5 seconds a frame which was happening with the newer drivers. I also did extend the amount of time for the transition, there slower on purpose. Is it chugging or is the transition just longer. Ill add an option for slow or fast for next release, since you mentioned you dont like it. What do others think? PS: As per usual, no release notes normally implies single bug fix to something. This time something that I found through the error reporting.
  15. I dont think that worked. Can you please try the attached GameEx.exe replacement. GameEx.zip
  16. I think the problem is the available video memory. It says you have originally 30mb video memory and after GameEx has loaded all the graphics it says you have 0. You can make gameex use less video memory by doing all or some of the following: Turning off "Advanced Graphics" Running at 640x480 resolution instead of 800x600 Running at 16 bit colour Turning off MAME ICONS These settings are in the advanced config app, under display setting.
  17. Before helping, please download and install the latest version of GameEx.
  18. Dear Community, I am happy to announce that Brian Hoffman now joins Headkaze, Adultery and I as moderators for the forum. Brian caught my eye due to his incredible handling of helping lots of new users for the forum, and doing it with the same kind of passion I have when developing GameEx. He really enjoys helping the community and being a part of it, so I thought it fit to reward him with giving him full moderator access to the forums. This also brings an even greater coverage of time zones if any nasty goings on happen. Please join me in thanking Brian, and welcoming him to the team.

  20. It should deffinitly be fixed now.Can you all confirm please? I narrowed down the problem. It was happening when the google ads displayed Flash based ads. I made all the ads just show text, and it seems to be fixed now. Please confirm. Thanks.
  21. That was fixed a few versions back.
  22. There's a small bug with the site, in that some or all of the top menus dissapear every now and then, requiring a restart of IIS to fix. This update is fairly significant in terms of the video playback. I've been working on this for quite a while. GameEx would eventually crash playing only MNG videos in the screensaver, and continuously playing the same MNG when the screensaver was turned off would also crash. This probably also affected mpegs and avi's The alpha blending of videos was causing this due to a bug, and additionally, and stupidly the screensaver videos where also alpha blending. I was also using StretchBlt instead BitBlt when there was no need to use StretchBlt. So it all should run much faster now, and GameEx should never crash, ever. lol
  23. 16th August, 2008 - GameEx 8.73 Stability and performance improvements to snap videos, background videos, and videos in screensaver. (Including MNG)
  24. 14th August, 2007 - GameEx 8.72 Updated MNG libraries Fixes screensaver not running after playing some MAME games Video backgrounds may be slightly faster 13th August, 2007 - GameEx 8.71 Setup wizard now supports 250 emulators Emulator groups can now be placed under emulator menu
  25. Try deleting the .map files in c:\program files\gameex\data Also make sure 7-zip is disabled. (try this first)
