I am guessing you posted the wrong file. it is a gameex log file, but some legacy file on your system i am guessing. you must have been incredibly lucky then if it used to do that. it is not supposed to! what gameex version was that? it is meant to not exit if 5 is pressed but people dont always have 5 set to credit or even have a keyboard. is 5 your credit button? remind me what is going on. have you done a big upgrade?

Does not look like GameEx even starts from that log. Not sure what is going on there? No point going there yet but that's also an old version from a year ago. i cant fix a bug in an old version unless its not been fixed. As for attract mode, that is by design, sorry. its not designed for playing games. its an attract mode or screensaver. Sounds like you are looking for the "random game" feature.

okay, fair enough and sorry, but ive got nothing more to say than above. i cant guarantee it works. i would not buy the product on the assumption it works with gameex. I don't know about the other frontends, maybe hyperspin v1 but that is going to be a complete pain in the ass. The newer ones are more for kiddies without real hardware. This kind of thing is dying unfortunately. Without a CRT which died many years ago can't get close to the real thing anyway. Its nice to have proper four way etc though but probably more drama than it's appreciated. ive not looked at it but fba may be the solution. 32 bit gameex will likely work and its no problem running 32 bit version. It is still updated but i just cant confirm it works which is why i suggested talking to ultimarc. Maybe they could spend a few minutes and test? In there interests, no? I am happy to help but little else I can do. About a thorough answer as you are going to get anywhere in 2025.

Could you do what I asked please? FlexDMD support should be supported out of the box. Id like to know why it is not working.

if you are using zedmd you should not need dmddevice64.dll for pinballx. Try it like that.

No and that is just for arcade games. As you can see he ran runitgame.bat and got a strange error outside of GameEx.

if its not the -cart it maybe because you are passing the whole filename with extension. Maybe you need to pass the filename without the extension (.zip). PS: When I said it did not work outside of GameEx i was referring to via command line. i get that it works in the gui. Cheers. Actually, sorry, incorrect above. There is or was support directly in GameEx via plugins. its been a while since ive had feedback on it so can't guarantee it works with the latest and greatest. i would talk to Ultimarc about it. i dont have anything here to test and im not aware of anyone around here who even knows what it actually is other than me! Also look at fba neo as an alternative to MAME. I can't confirm but I know it has support for things ouside of MAME and is designed more for people who actually want to play

it has been a while since I looked at MAME outside of Arcade but is -cart needed?

GameEx creates runitgame.bat in the data folder to launch a game. That is exactly what is run. Take a look at that. if you add pause to the end of the batch file, you should hopefully get a notification of the problem. im guessing its missing a bios/rom.

What DMD do you have? Please post a log launching the table.

it is likely the command line. the log should help.

What are your reginal settings on the machine? Have they changed? Please try doing a disk cleanup and deleting temporary files. Paricularly this folder: d2d_fontcache0001 Looks like you have some bad cache because your windows regional settings have changed.. deleting it should fix it. if disk cleanup does not get it, this is normally the user temp folder: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Temp (Your decimal point in your regional settings or .net framework version has changed from period (full stop) to comma.)

That feature has been updated for post 10.8. So it could be. i don't have issues though.

note to the team, i see the running as admin again. i just tested, i am not seeing that here. i also see from the log, plugin is not initializing,

Hey Spongey, Its helpful to get a log showing the game trying to be launched. it can show common problems. Can you do that? Otherwise, i was thinking maybe you are missing the bios roms,

Seems like a strange one. We are not the police but where did the OS come from!? Its easily done, no offence intended but that is where my thinking is at.

Thank you Draco. @MulletLife seems to be a lot of this lately. Old version testing does definitely help troubleshoot but people seem to lack understanding that i can't fix an old version without making a new version!
