  1. thanks bri, running at full framerate, but the audio is really really slow.
  2. O.K. stu, now i hope i'm not over-staying my welcome, but as you've been a great deal of help already i pose one more question. is it possible someway to have a similar program as the fuzzytext, only you drop your .avi videos for example into list 1, and then the corresponding roms into list 2. would there be a way to delete every rom without an exact matching video? basically i have more roms than i do videos, so i'd rather do away with the roms that are without a video because it looks bad scrolling through the gamees list seeing all these eye catching videos and then have it go blank when i reach a game that doesn't have one. i'm guessing it'd be a simple command.. deleting whatever files in list 2 that aren't listed in list 1. just seeing if it's doable. -katuuuz
  3. all set, stu you really are a genius for this tool. i actually had to put the .avi's into colomn 1, and the roms in column 2. after ticking export, i changed the field to .avi. save it to the folder the avis are in and run it there. pure genius stu.
  4. ok, i figured that part out but placing the bat file in my roms directory doesn't do anything.. i'm trying to have the roms match the .avi videos, so i put the roms in the left column, avis in the right, matched them, ticked export batch, type .avi in the field where .zip was exported to my rom directory, ran the batch, and nothing happened.
  5. after matching, when it shows the possible match list, do i click the ignore box or no before ticking export to batch? then after i have a batch do i run it? i'm lost.
  6. yeah i'll give that a go. i wish circo would contact me, he could bang it out in the amount of time it takes to record the segment
  7. sweet stu, what exactly should i have ticked though?
  8. yeah i've purchased thsoe a while ago now, and dl2 isn't included... and yes i've tried contacting him several times about it. interestingly enough also the classic super metroid isn't included in the snes batch either.
  9. ok i got it working, but it seems a teency bit choppy... good enough, just hoped the experts would have made the dl2 video.
  10. actually i can't figure out how to use it. i'm not sure it has anything to do with camtasia (being seemingly more extensive than fraps is) it may have to do with the video codec? it records the audio but displays a black screen. (plus i'm not registering fraps for $37 when i only need it to make one video.. ((unregistered videos have a fraps watermark in the corner)). thanks though.
  11. hi all, i've just installed camtasia studio 4 and am attempting to record the opening sequence of DL2 timewarp to .avi, but after i record and view the video preview alls i see is a black screen where the game should be playing. any tips?
  12. haha no rush if you intend to write the program to do it, but you lost me at "paste to excel." i'm a stranger to microsoft excel.
  13. stu you're the man for it's now fixed... i was wondering, is there a way, (if not is there a way to code) all of my roms to match the exact title of my videos without renaming each by name? it's only a few, but enough not to want to do it manually. ex. "1943 - battle of midway" is the name of my video, and "1943" is the name of the rom...
  14. weird problem.. for example super mario brothers, super mario brothers 2, and super mario brothers 3 (NES) ((all named as i just typed)) are identically named for the videos but super mario brothers 3 shows the super mario brothers 2 video?! i do indeed have the super mario 3 video and it's exactly named in that of the rom.
  15. so if i have 4 versions of a game and choose to overwrite, i'll end up with 1, correct? that would be ideal.
  16. stu, i'm really interested in this program you've written.. will you please explain what to do with it before i download it and ruin my game list?? (on behalf of my stupidity, not your .exe )
  17. that's not bad, we get $12 in my town, so i'd imagine i'd only charge about 6 pounds over your way seeing as a pound is roughly $2.03 USD. if i could get a few more, fine but i'm not coming there to try and make a zillion pounds, i just would like to get out of the US for a while and be financially comfortable.. who knows i may even apply for a different job all together, but i just see it as if i'm trained in a field, why not try that first. but tom for the busy guy you are i do appreciate all the feedback - especially with this thread being totally off gameex topic.
  18. regedit?
  19. i'm dead serious about this. no, i said i have $3,000 USD saved up so far. i'll vacation there first (i'm not moving there for about a year or more when the time's right). barbering is my only licensed skill, and it'd be nice to cut hair once i get there. what are the prices for a haircut roughly? can i barber and survive on the wages? do you think people would shy away from an american hair cutter? i plan to have at least 10,000 USD for the move.
  20. nicely put jt. and i am looking into spending a week outside of london starting the first weekend of the new year. (jan 5.) as you can tell i'm in no particular rush, i'm taking it slow and hoarding money. i've got about $3,000 USD saved so far for the actual move (if it takes place) and i've started a vacation fund to go check things out. i don't know what it is about america (the east coast anyways) but i'm not liking the way things work around here. we just had world news in a town called cheshire, CT.. a pair of guys broke into a families house, and killed the wife, and 2 daughters and leaving the father/husband for dead even though he is still alive. they've had a breaking and entering rap sheet since they were 17, and our government puts a house arrest bracelet on martha steward for cashing in on a stock... how much sense does that make? that isn't the particular reason i'm leaving, but it's a good example of how our government is run by a bunch of "winners". i'm not racist one bit, but all of the people from poverty struck countries are coming here and getting on welfare and section 8 and our taxes are going through the roof. don't get me wrong a lot of them go about it the right way and get legalized citizenship and work hard, but a whole lot of them just come and reap the benefits and it's really spinning out of control. --by the way (excuse me for the rant) i'm a licensed barber in the USA, how is that line of work over seas? are barbers in demand? does everyone usually go to a unisex salon? what types of hair cuts are popular? i know over here the kids are growing out their hair (which sucks for me) and mostly all my clients are older men. thanks again guys hopefully someday soon i'll be posting about life in GB
  21. thank you this is all great information that will be put to use. is there any part of the united kingdom one would not want to live?
  22. i don't know, i'm kind of in it for the adventure. are there lots of things to do out there? do the people take kindly to strangers? my main concern is being lonely and not making friends.
  23. a friend of mine has ambition to move to the united kingdom after he saves up enough money. he wants to live in ireland or scotland. basically he's fed up with the U.S. how would the people take to him? would it be worth it? or would it be a waste of money? the thing is he asked me to go, and i'm stupid and will take a risk like that. just thought i'd do some research first.
  24. i think it goes pretty much without saying thank you to tom. if i put all the time into the project as he did and had it looking this great, i'd charge $50 USD/registration. tom you're a front end genius, and i'll represent gameex until i have arthritus in my hands from playing arcade games. growing up in the local arcade i never in my wildest dreams would imagine coming home every day to my own persnoal arcade with every game i ever loved and more.. without stumbling upon gameex it wouldn't have manifested, but your front end is what made me take on the project of constructing the mikeade around this time last year and i'm still here. kudos around the horn to everyone involved, and if i ever vacation to the UK, i got tom's bar tab if he's not too busy working on the next update haha. katuuuz
  25. kept busy today, atari 5200 (montezuma's revenge), 7800 (donkey kong junior), 32x (doom), gameboy (megaman). will upload a mikeade 1.2 upgrade tomorrow. still have a ways to go on completion.
