  1. thanks for the feedback, i'll try to toggle my joystick and mouse options. i'm running it on a 27" tv, and had it at 800x600.
  2. great excuse for me to crack a beer tonight in celebration. cheers to adultery.
  3. the first time i did my arcade, i had trouble getting this thing going and thought i'd be able to handle it this time around but cannot. the hardware/software is installed fine, my mouse responds to the lightgun on my desktop, and within gameex. when i load police trainer for mame for example, the gun doesn't take to the cursor, although my trackball does. in the mame config i have lightgun and mouse set to =1, and for the input device, trackball and lightgun are set to "mouse". i know the gun works, just not in mame. help if you can. -tuuz
  4. i will try this now (other pc). I think i'd be able to read it size wise, but maybe it's because of the color. what number is black?
  5. argen i don't use the manuals, maybe i'll get into it soon, but there was a previous thread on this issue. from what i read, make sure you have the latest version of gameex, and make sure you install the plugin and have adobe acrobat. have a look. hope this helps. P.S. and i think you have to be a registered user. http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...l=manual+viewer
  6. SWEET amos thanks for coming through. i got the menu box where i wanted it (i thought it was the "info" line of code). now for the font. i've got it working in +2, but it'd be nice if the font can be a hair bigger. I try +3 and it works, but when i go to say nintendo games, i get this error message: 12:22:09.5 6/18/2007: 21 Consecutive Exceptions Occured: Exiting 12:22:09.6 6/18/2007: Closing database connection 12:22:09.6 6/18/2007: First Exception: 12:22:09.6 6/18/2007: Error in the application. 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.DrawInternal(tagRECT* destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, tagRECT* srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags, DrawEffects& bltEffects) 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.Draw(Rectangle destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, Rectangle srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags) 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DrawMenuImages(Boolean over) 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DisplayFrame() 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: Last Exception: 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: Error in the application. 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.DrawInternal(tagRECT* destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, tagRECT* srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags, DrawEffects& bltEffects) 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.Draw(Rectangle destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, Rectangle srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags) 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DrawMenuImages(Boolean over) 12:22:09.8 6/18/2007: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DisplayFrame() my guess is the menu box isn't big enough to house the text at that size... but i'm hoping you know exactly what the problem is. attatched is my theme.ini. theme.txt
  7. i actually thought that was going to work, but it didn't... SH*T
  8. will someone please try and tell me what to do??? i'd like to think all the time spent on my new theme wasn't for nothing. i can't move the "by category, by year, by manufacturer" box from behind my games list, and i can't get the text to go any bigger than regular which can't be read on my 27" tv!! WTF!
  9. i remember placing a code in the "launch with gameex" box that programmed my ipac when i booted gameex. otherwise i would have to manually open the ipac program and load the config myself. i believe ling panda gave the code up, but i cannot find it now.
  10. here's my config, and it works perfectly. obviously change the rom/snap/title/cartridge/box art paths to suit your setup. under the gameex config is the nestopia config. ***GameEx NESTOPIA*** Enabled: YES Import Emulator: Export Emulator: Start Page Name: NINTENDO Title Text: NINTENDO Logo: NES ROM Filter: *.NES ROMS in Folders?: NO ROM Path: c:\NES\NESROMS Snap/Video Path: C:\NES\SCREENSHOTS\SCREENS Title Snap Path: C:\NES\SCREENSHOTS\TITLES Box Art Path: C:\NES\SCREENSHOTS\BOX SCANS Cartridge Art Path: C\NES\SCREENSHOTS\CART SCANS Working Path: C:\NES (where this emulator's .exe is) Map Keys: YES Wait Before Keys: Keys To Send: Replace Dashes: YES Replace Underscores: YES Capitalise Words: YES Remove Text in Brackets: YES Show Desktop: NO Debug Mode: NO Map File: Also Launch: Command Line: NESTOPIA.EXE "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" Offline List DAT Zip: Launch Before: Launch After: Advanced Config: Excluded Files: Custom Background: Play Music: Treat as 1 PC Game: NO Database: NES 7-Zip/Good Merge: *****Nestiopia Config****** ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // // Nestopia Configuration File. 11. search engine!
  12. also, the font size won't change. i wonder why this is happening.
  13. i'm not sure if it's a mame32, or gameex error. but i used to use mame32 but was told to get mameplus because it normalizes audio in games like mortal kombat (who's volume is unusually low in other mame versions) - i recently formatted my pc and downloaded the latest mamep and all lights are green over here. EDIT** i know volume wasn't your issue, what i mean is my mameplus is working if you want to try that emulator.
  14. hey everyone, decided i liked the mame "tangerine" bootskin so much i'm making a custom theme to match it.. everything's going smoothly and it should be done tonight/tomorrow, just one thing. I can't get the box that displays "by category, by year, by manufacturer, etc" to move from where it is. I'm guessing it's the "info" box in the editor, but no matter where i move it in the editor, or even in the theme config file, it stays put. please help on this one.
  15. i've decided to finally try the sheller. hopefully all will go well. just wondering, i have a bootskin i'd rather use than the one that comes in the sheller zip file. if i were to replace the original bootskin with the one i already have, will it change the skin to mine?
  16. agreed, i do have my machine set up to take quarters for credits just to use as a piggy bank type deal, and for the nostalgia of hearing the quarter drop and a marvel credit sound off. BUT, the side pinball buttons are freeplay credits so it's not like you have to pay to play.
  17. thanks for the knowledge kenobi. i think i will try this, for my arcade before had ghetto launch where i set the taskbar to "hide", made my desktop black with no icons, and put gameex into the startup folder. sounds to me the sheller just straight boots gameex and wouldn't even give you a chance to see your desktop. i have like 4 more dvds of .chd files to load onto my hard drive, and will be ready to try it probably late tonight, early tomorrow. all i do is download the sheller and change explorer.exe with sheller.exe? if you could explain that part a little more in detail, because i will freak out and wipe the hard drive clean again haha. as you should know by now. thanks for your time man, it's appreciated.
  18. i know what the gyst of the sheller is, but do you have it running, and what exactly is happening when you boot up?
  19. thanks guys, i did that, now i get that little box that says to enter a password, but since there is none, i just click ok. that was never there before also. i was meaning to ask about the sheller too, i didn't use it before, but if it gets right into gameex and to the point, i'd like to know more about it.
  20. yeah but using the tweak ui method has left me with that retarded "welcome" screen after my bootskin... i don't remember the welcome screen before.
  21. katuuuz

    bootskin

anyone have a nice bootskin they'd like to share?
  22. katuuuz

    mame list

did anyone ever figure out how to get the mame list to show 1 version of a game? instead of 1944 set 1, set 2, set 3, etc.? it looks like i have a ton of games, but it's only because they display like 5 of each!
  23. everything's going smooth, and now daphne is acting up. (not in gameex, in general). i've never gotten this message before, but in the land of the internet and bill gates, it doesn't surprise me. upon trying to configure my daphne loader i get the error message "component mscomct2.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" please tell me you can help.
  24. don't you think these themes should come with at least 1 copy of the adobe .pdf file so the user can make changes if they like. overall the theme is perfect, just i'd like to change a few pictures to my console favorites for example. or to change the resoloution in my case..
  25. anyone know where i can get my hands on that? i should have backed it up before the format... actually just 1 .pdf is needed. i just need the layout.
