  1. tom i told you from day one you can get more money than you're asking. along with what adultery was saying, name any other program with a forum like this, and none the less one you can get in contact with and receive thorough information from it's creator. if you cheap-o's are worried about the small donation to support the front end, i hope you're friends are impressed with the nag screen.
  2. good job man, tinkering with it definitely pays the bills.
  3. i believe you can eliminate the title in gameex advance config under display properties. as far as select lines, i'm not sure what you mean.
  4. I'd pay $25 USD!... but then i would win.
  5. someone wants a license bad!
  6. ooooh, keeping the forum spicey and dicey.
  7. although i will probably never get vista (anytime soon anyways) good going.

    Hey Tom

yeah tom, your drive/talent in creating GameEx really benefited me. (if that makes it worth it to you lol). Seriously though, i've been an avid game player since i was a youngster, always buying the consoles as soon as possible upon their release, and trying to be the best at all the games that came along with it. From Atari, to Wii i've enjoyed relaxing with a few beers and having a go at them. I've also been into the emulation scene as soon as i found out about it (about 4-5 years ago) and your front end basically sealed the deal. I never would have imagined playing games like i do now in an arcade cabinet, and not having to call up each emulator and open individual roms. you've definitely made classic gaming a lot better looking and easier for me and my pals to get drunk to. even playing the latest up-to-date xbox 360 game has no comparison to spiking my buddy in the head in super dodge ball. thanks for the hard work, and if i ever run into anyone from this site in a bar, drinks are on me for the night. CHEERS to gameex Queers to mamewah!
  11. yo kaze, i know it has nothing to do with the ledwiz (which is freakin sweet by the way) but how did you get your menu text to zoom in while it faded out as you transition through menus? that is awesome.
  12. how's this for daphne? sort of what you were talking about?
  13. ya i'm saying design a them, then rotate it when it's done. it looks fine, on my pc, if i were to turn the screen verticle it'd be what i think he's talking about.
  14. i'd love to see that.
  15. this is a total shot in the dark, but is there a way somehow it's playing the game twice? like in gameex, and in windows? ps gameex rocks.
  16. i'll do that now. everything was working fine until i started cleaning out my theme folder. i basically got rid of logos/media i didn't think applied to my theme... i must have obviously been wrong. i'm gonna log onto my arcade pc now and get the full report. it must be one of the files i deleted though since it was working fine before. here is the report: 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: GameEx: Version 8.13: Starting Log 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: Operating System Name: Windows XP 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: Operating System Version: 5.1.2600 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.80GHz 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: 2.79Ghz - 2 Cores or CPU's 16:05:10.7 6/25/2007: Running Randomize() 16:05:10.8 6/25/2007: Loading PlugIns 16:05:11.2 6/25/2007: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup 16:05:11.2 6/25/2007: Launching and not waiting: "C:\Program Files\WinIPAC\WinIPAC.exe" C:\Program Files\WinIPAC\winipac.ipc 16:05:13.8 6/25/2007: Running Misc startup tasks 16:05:13.8 6/25/2007: Setting Menu types 16:05:13.8 6/25/2007: Opening Configuration File 16:05:13.8 6/25/2007: Getting Configuration Values 16:05:14.0 6/25/2007: Using Theme: Mikeade - 800x600 16:05:14.0 6/25/2007: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Mikeade - 800x600 16:05:14.1 6/25/2007: Launching HideOS.exe 16:05:14.1 6/25/2007: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's 16:05:16.1 6/25/2007: Hiding Taskbar 16:05:16.1 6/25/2007: Is Media Center running? 16:05:16.1 6/25/2007: Checking/Creating LCD Registry values 16:05:16.3 6/25/2007: Check Media Center Exit/Start Mode 16:05:16.3 6/25/2007: Media Center Mode 2 16:05:16.3 6/25/2007: Video previews on. 17. you mean in game art like the nes, and genesis?
  18. if i'm not mistaken craig, hitting TAB in gameex rotates the screen 90 degrees. as far as having to do this every time i'm not sure. i hit it by accident once and it took me a few to figure out what i pressed. give that a go, close gameex, and re-open it and let me know if it stays rotated.

when the screen goes black do you have any sound? could be a fullscreen issue. always make sure to have emulators set to run in full screen. do you know if ken griffey junior's major league baseball for n64 works up to speed yet?
  20. my new theme is done, except for that darned error dialog box not matching, but i'm still trying to figure out how to change the text color. (the dialog box is the "launching 1941.." overlay when selecting mame or daphne games). also, i only use mame, daphne, 2600, nes, snes, sega, and psx so i havn't yet created backgrounds for other emus, but if you guys like the theme i will be happy to do so. also it's called mikeade because my name is mike, anyone wanting this theme, but with a different name i will change it to say what you like, or send you the .psd so you can do it yourself. let me know what you think... if enough of you like it i will upload the theme itself.. and it was made to match the "tangerine" mame bootskin
  21. i just cleaned out my theme folder of any unused images/logos and now when trying to select the jukebox within gameex itself, it closes gameex, and i'm hit with this message: 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: First Exception: 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: Error in the application. 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.DrawInternal(tagRECT* destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, tagRECT* srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags, DrawEffects& bltEffects) 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.Draw(Rectangle destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, Rectangle srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags) 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DrawMenuImages(Boolean over) 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DisplayFrame() 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: Last Exception: 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: Error in the application. 19:29:10.6 6/24/2007: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.DrawInternal(tagRECT* destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, tagRECT* srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags, DrawEffects& bltEffects) 19:29:10.7 6/24/2007: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.Draw(Rectangle destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, Rectangle srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags) 19:29:10.7 6/24/2007: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DrawMenuImages(Boolean over) 19:29:10.7 6/24/2007: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DisplayFrame() can't figure out what file(s) to restore from the recycling bin to fix this.
  22. well i found out it is the "error dialog" (oddly enough) in the theme editor. i tried to customize it's colors to match my theme, and with the text being black it looks gross. if i can somehow change the text in the error dialog to white, we may have something here. if not, i deleted the error dialog from the media folder of my theme all together and the default sky blue doesn't match, but is at least legible. (it's only on the screen 2 seconds before launching the game anyhow, but i would like to get to the bottom of things.)
  23. perhaps a question for tom?
  24. jt what's up my man? long time. yah i remember you helping me out last time. the ems driver works for me... that is in windows, and gameex, and i had it running before my format. do you think i should get the other driver you speak of with hopes of it working in mame?
  25. in my case you are wrong. it does bypass a few, but the 'type ok" screen is still there upon the first launch of a game. meaning if i open street fighter 2 for the first time, i'm prompted to type "ok". upon exiting and reloading the same rom, i'm not. i don't know about you but i'm not going through my full rom set and pressing ok for the first go. will going back to the previous build solve this issue? because i'm ready to do so if it will.
