  1. Happy Birthday GameEx!
  2. Logo is in MEDIA\LOGOS folder and is named "GameBase_Splash_Commodore 64". Background folder doesn't exist. I too, like Bigby, requested the option to select custom backgroung for GameBase.
  3. If we had a 3D theme they would fit perfectly! They already fit perfectly, don't misunderstand me.. I just like the idea of a vector 3D theme using the same "geometry" of your box logos...
  4. So... You really planned everything and everything is in its own place... well done!!!
  5. Nice pic! And Eastwood is one of my favourite actors!!!
  6. You can't compare MESS with CCS64 (which I highly recommend) or WinVICE, when it comes to C64 rom images. And apart from that, this is the first time I hear about using a multi-purposed emulator with gamebase. If you want my opinion, Necromancyr, I'd strongly suggest to switch to CCS64 instead. The problem with a cab is that you have to configure your controller to reflect a keyboard layout. But even in this case MESS is not preferable to CCS64 or WinVICE, which have a fully configurable key setup. The main advantage of using CCS64 is that you can run 99% of the 20000 games of the GB64 collection. WinViCE comes closer, but you can't get any other emulator with such a great compatibility with C64 software. The problem here is: apart from 8bit games that use only 1 button (fire) like C64 or Amiga, how can you natively configure games that were thought to be run on a home computer, and that require some keys like space bar, esc, f1, f3, f5, Q, W, or whatsoever, on a cab setup? Xpadder would be of help, as usual I guess (I've never tried it)...
  7. @RageOn: I just tried your theme and I agree with the others: the right word for your work is CLASSY! My compliments!!!
  8. Yes, in my opinion Adultery is completely right. You have to hand choose the parent set. I'm using MAMEUI 0.141, I hope nothing relevant changed in the UI... 1 - Open MAME 2 - From the left column (you sholud read All Games, Available, Custom... etc...), select All games. 3 - Now you should have a "tree" list in the main central window, with the parent rom on the left and the various clones below slighly on the right. 4 - In the main central window, you have to read the parent rom's file name in the "directory" column. For example for "Action 2000", you should see something like this: Game Directory ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Action 2000 act2000 Action 2000 (Version 1.2) act2000o3 Action 2000 (Version 3.10XT) act2000o2 OK, you have to copy act2000.zip (parent rom) from your roms folder into the destination folder of your sister's setup. Hope I made it clear. Let us know the results, I can post some screens if necessary.
  9. I missed this information. Thank you nullPointer. If I understood nullPointer's words correctly, he's saying that you can change profiles as you want, not only PRIOR launching a game, but directly while in game, without closing and restarting GameEx or MAME, so that you can switch between 1 player and 2 player button configuration simply with the press of a button. Xpadder seems to be a wonderful piece of software (I say "seems" only because I didn't tried it, but no doubt it is). This would be your ideal solution...
  10. Watch your back because actually he's a rocket!!!
  11. Uhm... as far as I know, no... At least no with a "default" MAME setup. Although I don't use it, I've heard a lot of wonderful things about Xpadder ( http://xpadder.com/ ). But if you want my opinion, it would be very difficult to change profile while you are gaming, i.e. changing profile "on the fly" while MAME is running...
  12. I like the idea to represent a monitor inside a monitor! The general look is nice, too: I think that purple and black is always a good and nice combo, like red and black. Your daughter got a good aesthetical taste, IMO... but you know, like father like daugher...
  13. @Adultery: It was too short, bare, and simple as it was in v1.0.1, isn't it man? OK, so now I have a challenge for you: I WANT a feature that automagically turns on my coffee machine and makes me a coffee while waiting for the countdown to finish... !!!! @Draco & KRC: Really, both of you are very talented and imaginative! GameExLaunch is sooo eye candy thanks to you!!! Now GameExLaunch has become from being a simple, though effective, pop up window, a little useful utility that, keeping its original purpose, adds a little range of features... Great work guys!!!
  14. I know nothing about taito type x games, but it would be useful to read the content of runitgame.bat (open it with notepad or right click -> modify). Runitgame.bat is in GameEx\Data folder. You have to make sure that raiden 4 is the last game you launched with gameex, so: 1 - Run gameex and try to launch this game. 2 - Exit gameex and go to the aforementioned folder and post the content of runitgame.bat Please attach your GameEx.ini (in GameEx\CONFIG) and your log (in GamEx\LOG). To attach files, you have to select "More Reply Options".
  15. @Adultery: YOU ARE GREAT MAN! Your readiness is with no equals!
  16. My compliments for this release, Adultery!!! I can imagine ClassicGMR's face when he'll find this thread!!! I completely agree with you, Draco. I don't have a dedicated gaming machine, and use GameEx with my personal pc laptop: waiting for startup program to load, services etc, I have to wait at least 3 minutes before the system is completely responsive. If it isn't a complication for Adultery, I would suggest to give the user the maximum flexibility about the remaining time.
  17. Looking really cool!!!
  18. Please accept my veeeeeery late congrats for your promotion, Chazz, but you know, better late than never... (and can't wait to download your theme... ).
  19. It is possible to change the font size directly from Setup Wizard without modifying the theme's default values. In "Display Settings" you'll find the "Font Size" setting, indeed: this is an overall setting that will apply to every theme you use, so if you want to change the font size of Metro theme only, you'd better follow Draco's instructions.
  20. Congrats null! Well deserved promotion!!! I agree with KRC about the fact that it would have been just a matter of time: your presence, your willingness to help everyone with detailed suggestion\instructions and tips, your competence and knowledge about every aspect of gameex, emulators and emulation in general made you already one of the best member of this community! So again, congratulations null!!!!!
  21. AlphaUMi

    help please

The correct command line for ZSNES should simply be: zsnesw.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" But, as fRequEnCy told you, post the emulator config and add the content of runitgame.bat (in GameEx\DATA), it could be useful too.
  22. Thank you for the new release Tom but, this time, if you permit sir, the greatest applause is for Circo!!!
  23. In the beginning I had the same problems as celly and han adding my logo to my signature. That's why I delayed the addition. They are gone now! I read the size that celly used and it works for me too! I already tried several resize, even lower than those GameEx forum requests. With a dimension of 400 x 68, I was able to add the image to my signature. Thanks to you, celly!!! Now I'm proud to show my new signature! Thank you again, KRC!
  24. It's a very nice work, KRC! And I had been writing something to suggest you when I saw that you already hit the spot... Making banners different in style and background colour as you originally planned may fit a specific theme for which they were created, but, on the other hand, the set misses flexibility... The way you are working on now... well they can be used in different projects... My compliments for your work, concepts and ideas!!!!
