  1. There is one possible consequence to this: to remove those entries to other parts of GamEx too, like video, music, radio.... Unless you want to completely remove those options from GameEx in its entirety...
  2. That's not true. Setup Wizard is the "general" configuration utility for all versions of GameEx. You have to configure MAME with Setup Wizard, and then update the list (in the full GameEx Version). Once you have done this, you can use GameEx for MAME as you desire.
  3. Happy birthday Krak!!! Have a nice day!!!
  4. I think "Convergence" is an appropriate name for your combined effort, guys! The whole thing looks great!!!
  5. Thanks Tom! The new support for non Steam Games is great!!!
  6. Sorry for misleading the problem. My knowledge is pretty out of date...
  7. In your GameEx.ini there are the following lines: AmbienceFile= AmbianceFile= Both are empty. You can delete one of them, and put "C:\arcade\arcade.mp3" so that eventually you get: AmbienceFile="C:\arcade\arcade.mp3". Note that AmbienceFile requires the full directory including the file name and extension.
  8. I would make a request: Ability to assign a joypad key for returning directly to the start menu (Home), like the one that already there is for keyboard.
  9. Ehm... Draco... I feel a bit embarrassed because that key was pretty obvious... Marking as [RESOLVED].
  10. Sorry, but what do you mean with this? And please, post your log. You can find it in GameEx\LOG directory. To attach files you have to use "More Reply Options". The log will tell us what gameex finds and what it doesn't...
  11. Today I re-enabled Flash Games again (from GameEx Arcade). There is only one option available: enable or disable. The problem is that I miss the top bar that you usually see in every Windows' window, that with "minimize", "maximize", and "exit" in the top right corner of the window... _ - X , if this makes it clearer. If I remember it correctly, I previously had that bar. So now I don't have a way to exit flash or html applications, since: - global keyboard exit key does not work - global joypad exit key does not work - I disabled ESC as global exit key, due to the fact that with GameBase64 I need the ESC key for another purpose. Flash games don't have an "in game" option to quit, as far as I have seen. So I'm asking if there is an option to display this bar in GameEx, and if I remember it correctly, it exists... but I couldn't find it. Using ALT+F4 closes everything, IE, Flash, and GameEx itself... so this is not a comfortable way to try flash games with GameEx. Please, do you have some suggestions?
  12. Which romset are you using for your collections?
  13. "You think it might be..."? YOU ARE RIGHT, GREAT MAN!!! So it was a matter of "\" instead of "/", I guess? Everything is working well with steam, I will test more games later, but the " code concept" should be taken for granted now, I suppose. Great work Tom! Thank you! EDIT: just to report that log and runitgame.bat report the same as before, but the games launches correctly now.
  14. ATTENTION PLEASE! I just did a test with the new steam feature, but, after launching games via GameEx, I have a black screen (as expected), but then, instead of launching the game, it returns to GameEx... no game. Well, I tried only with Half Life 2 and Portal (2 well known games)... but I think I found some interesting. According to the log (which, I think, is not necessary to attach in its entirety), GameEx tries to launch games with this command: cmd.exe /c f: steam.exe -applaunch 220 and cmd.exe /c f: steam.exe -applaunch 400 ----- runitgame.bat reports the following: f: CD "f:/pc-games/steam" steam.exe -applaunch 400 OK, I guess it's something with my setup, since null and Stu were able to test a lot of games.... but why do I have such result? Of course, If I use Win+R command line window with: cmd.exe /c "F:\PC-GAMES\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 400 the game launches.
  15. Hey Tom, just tried it and it works!!! Great!!!! ___________________________________ But just in case they will be needed, I am willing to provide you the information you requested, just in case they will turn out to be useful in the future: From https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Steam_Application_IDs I got the applicationID of the various "Developer Files", i.e. not games. Regarding the files needed to run mods based on Half Life, Half Life 2, HL2 ep.1 and HL2 ep.2, we have: 211 Source SDK 215 Source SDK Base 2006 (Episode One) 218 Source SDK Base 2007 (Orange Box) Checking my steam dirs, I found the following: Steam\steamapps\<username>\source sdk base (55,5 MB) Steam\steamapps\<username>\source sdk base 2007 (63,8 MB) But in Steam\steamapps\ folder I found these too: source 2007 binaries 2.gcf source 2007 binaries.gcf source 2007 shared materials.gcf source 2007 shared models.gcf source 2007 shared sounds.gcf source engine.gcf source materials.gcf source models.gcf source sdk base 2007.gcf source sdk base.gcf source sounds.gcf sourceinit.gcf But maybe they are not needed since, as I can confirm, the last executable you provided correctly filters these entries. Good work Tom!
  16. I would have a little request if possible. Would it be possible to exclude Source SDK Base and Source SDK Base 2007 from the Steam list? They are not games, as you already know...
  17. Well... this is a very good argument. And if they are only few and so small in size, and if the download is optional... everything is good.
  18. I see no reason to have a wrapper for a game that a user doesn't have, and thus increasing the installer file size... I would have no problem though, if you and Tome decided to bundle everything in GameEx installer... ___________ Apart from that, for the second time I would say thanks for all your effort and works, null and stu!!! The steam integration you made possible is an awesome feature!!!
  19. This is AWESOME!!! Thanks Tom, nullPonter and PimpDaddyStu!!!!!
  20. It depends on the setting in GameEx.ini, which you can select with Setup Wizard. You can choose: 1. To automatically check for update and do it 2. To not check for any updates at all 3. To get an info window with the option to update

    Hello

Sorry to be late but... welcome to this community Joan!!!
  22. Thanks guys!!! Upgradiiiing!!!
  23. GameEx displays snap preview if video is not found. GameEx already does that. But as Adultery said, video and snaps must reside in separate folder, and correctly configured through Setup Wizard.
  24. I cant' wait!!!
