  1. I didn't even know GameEX supported software lists. How do you hook them up and is there a guide anywhere?
  2. I really liked the GameEX Evolution video. The fast music and different things cycling through very fast was really cool. Also agree with a lot of what RedDog has said as well. I think fast pace and good music/theme is the key. What if you could do a split-screen video where GameEX takes 50% and GameEX AE takes other 50% of space all in 1 video. Add the fast pace and it might be an idea worth going with.
  3. The input lag I was experiencing is completely gone now with the latest release. Everything is running smooth like butter here
  4. Thanks Tom, that works. AntoPISA has extras named logos as well so I simply pointed the option to that which confused me. Thanks again!
  5. You hit some strange error Error: Ungültiger Parameter. which leads to 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei System.Drawing.Bitmap..ctor(String filename) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.a(String A_0, Device A_1) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface..ctor(String Filename, Device Device) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.RestoreSurfaces(Boolean JustDispose, Boolean NoDispose, Boolean ONLYDispose) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6, Boolean A_7, Boolean A_8, Boolean A_9) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6, Boolean A_7) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.InitDirectDraw(Boolean nodispose, Boolean reinit, Boolean DontLoadSurfaces) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, String A_1, Boolean A_2) 20:21:58.5 14.03.2017: bei GameEx.GameEx.MainForm..ctor() Before any of the team can reply, perhaps try googling the error and see if you can resolve it.
  6. Thank You Tom & Team for the continued support and release I'd like to see support for HyperSpin Wheel Sounds where it plays a random mp3 instead of a beep sound when scrolling through the game listing. Also, I can't figure out how to point GameEX AE to my folder of wheels as shown in the YT videos. I see nothing in GameEX setup wizard and searched GameEX.ini and can't find anything for wheels.
  7. There was a bug with Coleco which is fixed in current GIT https://github.com/mamedev/mame/commit/1f5bf4666d603575aaa42dbc77437f3d54652c56 As far as your issue with 7800 it's because your command line isn't quite correct. With softlist loading as I see Software List ROMs (non-merged) in your rompath you don't need to specify a bin file. Instead specify the zip or 7z file itself. Think of it as the exact same way you launch MAME Arcade sets. mame64 a7800 joustu
  8. 0.109 is more than 10 years old. I'd highly suggest seeking out the latest version + romset and pointing GameEX to this new location w/e you put it. It sounds like you'll need to set up MAME completely from scratch which isn't too difficult.
  9. You're running a 32-bit version of MAME but yet your log.txt shows windows 7 64-bit. For obvious performance reasons you should probably correct that. Which version of MAME are you running? Current version is MAME 0.183 You might want to turn off filters and other options then preform an update list in GameEX itself. OnlyWorking=False AllowImperfect=True VerifyRoms=False OnlyRoms=False NoGameInfo=False GameFilter=Japan;Korea;Asia;Hispanic;Bootleg;French;German;Hack;Prototype;Hardware;Spanish;(Easy;(harder GameFilterOn=False
  10. I did notice some input lag even with a standard USB gamepad which isn't present in GameEX Would also be nice with Arcade edition, if a person wasn't into the wheel thing to have option that allows just regular listing.
  11. HBMAME functions the exact same way as MAME does, so essentially GameEX should also allow you to set path to your hbmame folder in the mame config and allow the switching of MAME to HBMAME depending on what you wish to play. There's shouldn't be a need to make it a secondary emulator or fool with map files because it's basically a clone of MAME with just different hacked sets. One option is to use HBMAME with either GameEX or GameEX Arcade edition and use regular MAME with the other so that way you get the initial MAME support for both of them
  12. Not experiencing any problems here on my Windows 10 Pro X64 rig
  13. Hi Michael, If memory serves me correctly then you should have an email with a GameEX registry key attached. Run the file and accept changes then the next step is to download the latest GameEX and run the setup wizard after installing it. Welcome to GameEX and the forums and have fun setting it up
  14. As Tom has stated you can't turn verify off with Arcade Edition. You can only disable it in regular or vanilla GameEX. Anyway, after some thinking on this, I've reached this conclusion. My MAME romset and CHDs are 100% complete with everything properly named as MAME expects. I know how to use ClrMAMEpro importing the MAME binary to remove un-needed files while making sure everything is correctly named. I'm assuming here that this helps during the verify operation as it checks or run commands, see's that everything is correct, then moves on very quickly.
  15. I used GameEX Arcade Edition with baseline MAME 0.180 from mamedev.org and the update list only took about 5 minutes here on my end.
  16. I don't wish to sign up and post over there, so I'll put in my little 2¢ here. There's douchebags when it comes to every hobby and we can't let them stop us from evolving. After all GameEX Evolution tells us "Evolve or die" right? VPDB is definitely a step in the right direction for Visual Pinball to Evolve. Now if we compare Visual Pinball to the MAME project and some MAME Dev said 15 years ago that people were making money selling pre-loaded cabs or selling ROMs so we must stop the project. I for one don't want to live in that world and that would really suck if it was reality. Very few people these days buy MAME ROMs (if any) because everyone and their grandmother knows that complete [FREE] sets are so widespread that it basically eliminates anyone from making a shady dollar from the hobby. Word of mouth spreads and completely squashes any shady dealings because everything is available for FREE! This is where VPDB comes in. If VPDB can match the reality that MAME ROMs is in and the word of mouth spreads, then it will basically completely eliminate all this douchebaggery. In addition to the above; anything that improves the experience for the casual user to make exploring the world of VP is a very good thing. This whole ideal behind people having to visit forums and reading pages upon pages spending countess hours just to get some tables and artwork is absolutely ridiculous.
  17. Imagine the possibilities if this can become the standard. Imagine if eventually you could browse VPDB from within PBX and pick a table with it displaying please wait message while it downloads all the files and chucks them into appropriate paths that are set in some config wizard then launches said table when all operations have completed.
  18. This is awesome work! Thank You for sharing this with the community.
  19. The site looks amazing! Very nice work here
  20. Yep I'm having 0 issues using latest GameEX and 0.178 baseline MAME on Windows 10 Pro X64. Seems like some kind of internal issue on OPs end.
  21. Using baseline MAME and 0.178 games don't show under Neo-Geo games. It instead only shows 1 game named Action Fighter 1986 Sega. You can however go to By Publisher category and if you enter SNK it shows 230 games. They also all show up in the main listing.
  22. After watching the NES mini video, I got to thinking this would be a really cool theme for a frontend having the games arranged alphabetically and having this kind of look http://imgur.com/a/IbFqU
  23. Try downloading the LAV filters as mentioned on the main PBX page. http://www.pinballx.com/
  24. Thanks my friend. Worked perfectly
  25. I came across an users sig. that had a table image as a background on the game card. My card only puts the wheel on there and seems to stay a static image regardless of what game I last play. Does anyone know how this is changed?
