It showed reactions of people playing something, what that was i guess we'll never know, because it didn't show what any of those reactions were, what they were playing, or what they were looking at. I accept your apologies Just messin! RomCenter will accept xml's or as we are referring to them: 'HyperLists'. You need to fiddle a lil bit (in RomCenter) Once you figure it out you will be downloading them things like someone owes you something. And WHEN (it'll happen) you go to download a list that doesn't exist, you're gonna be pissed lol. At that point you'll appreciate the effort that goes into them lists, and why they are so good

Nailed it! GameEx is a launcher, always has been. It does what it does with nothing more than commands and great DB/media links. It never alters any (third party/emulator) code in any way. Some of these other softwares are questionable, not to mention specialised. Yet GameEx always could, and will always run ANYTHING that utilizes the commandline. (that is pretty much any decent software out there by the way)

I'll be devil's advocate here, but GameEx has always, since the the very beginning used the Theme resolution to determine the Theme. If you have a low res Theme, GameEx will use that Theme at the intended resolution. If you use a 1080p resolution Theme, GameEx will run at 1080p. That is a very clever feature of GameEx is it not? If you use a 640x480 Theme then GameEx will run at that resoution. That is impressive stuff. I may be wrong, but i think you are confusing system res, with display res, may be?

Everything that @RedDog said is pretty much spot on. You CAN make your own entries IF you have DB experience, and even then you'll have to make copies of the originals, because eventually they will get updated and overwritten. I went through this stage and even created my own DB's, but the problem comes when you update. Do you want the 500+ updates that the GameEx team have done? Or keep your 20? Trust me it gets very old very fast. If however you want to add missing descriptions, alter Titles, correct spelling and grammatical errors, i'm sure the DB team would appreciate your effort.

Oh, i didn't realise subdirectories won't work. If i remember right though, doesn't "ambience" only play when there is no other sound source? For example vidsnaps (if set audio on) karaoke, music etc? Doesn't it auto-mute in those types of situations? I'm genuinely asking coz my memory is shot

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but i thought i would say my peace anyways hey @ibuiltanarcade, Try this: In the Setup Wizard (as per your screenshot), go to "Arcade Ambience MP3" and point it to your Music folder. Next, change "Play Ambiance" to "Yes".

@stigzler - RomCenter will not destroy anything unless you tell it to do so. Also, all of these programs, as well as all of us repeating it a million times, MAKE A COPY. Seriously, you want to blame someone else for YOU not taking any precautions?? Seriously?

You can do the very thing you want using Romcenter and Hyperlists. It may be frowned upon, but it is very effective.

I've lived with this since i was born, but sometimes it does get the better of me. I always pull out though! =D Even if it takes some time. From what you say Han i would push it. I had symptoms from 2 years old and i finally got diagnosed at 12. 10 years of taking crap that was completely unnecessary. I used to take 28 no less tablets a day as a child, and i did because you know nothing at that age, and my Mother just wanted me to get better. If you are in chronic pain, you are in a better position than i, you are American. But screw that anyway. Get properly diagnosed, coz you won't get appropriately treated till you do. I would like to thank you both for your replies. I didn't want any sympathy, just a little compassion, and you gave it in spades. Thank you guys.

Hey folks, Some of you may or may have not have noticed that i was absent for quite a long time. My absence was for a reason, even though it may or may not have been explained. Know that i want to come back though ^^ I have a condition, that is unknown, causes a lot of pain to me and i get no help. Because of this, sometimes i retreat. This is why i went AWOL for a while. I personally never got on with the compiler, even though a lot of people swear by it. I always do a manual compile, and my success is very high. Also, when it DOESN'T work you are forced to deconstruct the code, looking for reasons WHY it went wrong, and rather than blaming someone else for your shortcomings, you are forced to look at it yourself and your own practices. Often this results in admitting that you, yourself were wrong. It's a hard thing to admit, but often is the truth. Many people won't accept this though and will blame devs, engineers... Anything to take the blame off of their own shortcomings. Surely it it is time though, that we praise these people, and give them the recognition they deserve. Coz without them you know where we would be... nowhere.

Hey, It's clear your rig is capable, the version you are running is not. It's so old i would uninstall and download again. GameEx has evolved so far since your version (which includes the latest MAME compatibilities) that i think you'll be mind-blown on what is on offer now

It's pretty cool, but come on, Todd?? A guy that uses saws, drills, wood, PVA, Glue guns, clamps, sanders etc May be i'm the dickhead here, but doesn't it seem like cheating? Just a lil bit? And what happens when the worlds biggest EMP is dropped? Can't print stuff now! Who is relied upon then? You know who People that know how a saw works, people that can use a manual drill, people that can construct things without a computer instructing them how to do it.

I would try disabling the Screensaver in the Setup Wizard completely, as to narrow down some things. Such as, what are your Power Options in W10? Have you set the screen to turn off after a set amount of time for instance, or have you set HDD's to power/spin down? Do you have power saving options enabled?
