Yeah that's just MS, they are anal bout major hardware reworks. All one has to do is get in contact and bitch a lil bit and they cave real quick They're almost apologetic if you get the right guys hehehe.
-
wIth MAME you must do this. You must get the support files that match your MAME version. This is not a GameEx caveat, it is a MAME restriction.
-
I wasn't either Stigz, I have to work on my people skills i think, - they is a lil rusty
-
Yes, well, the GameEx staff are not responsible for other dev's crazy moments My point is still valid wouldn't you agree? That mostly commands don't change, especially with the more established emulators.
-
If it's halting that fast, it's most likely a path issue (not finding any roms at all). Please double check your MAME paths.
-
If you have your roms, and you have the latest GameEx, that is all that matters. GameEx will download pre-configured emulators these days if you ask it to. Then, all you have to do is tell it where your roms are, if you want a quick start. It's just as quick to configure your own emu's too - the commands don't change - if they worked 5 years ago, they probably still do I say go for it, do your best, and if you get stuck... guess who'll be here to help you out Yup, we will

ATI or Nvidia? At the time i had an ATI card an they ran like a dropped curry. No matter what i did. Now i have an Nvidia, so it would be difficult to compare performance, but hey, if you can sort them out you are def a hero of mine
-
HA! So true! Have you tried the Raiden's yet? I had real trouble with them. EDIT: BEFORE Stigz' venture i should add! I'm talking about two years ago they were trouble
-
I'd say this - if you know GameEx already, then it is just about commands and paths. Even if you melt your pc by some bizarre accident, and if you spent that long in the past getting to know it, it'll take you 1-2 hours tops to get back where you started. Provided you have all your roms and media backed up. You DO have them backed up don't you ?!
-
OMGZ! Totally forgot bout Giga Wing Gens!! *ahem* As for commands, does it not work like the original? Set up as PC and create shortcuts to each .exe? i'm sure that's how i did it before but my memory is total shite tbh and may be stigz does have a plan

I'd like to think so, but their absolute disregard to western fans lately has me concerned. I'm of course talking about PSO. Us loyal fans in the west waited 8 years for a sequel, then they made one, but for Asian audiences only. The most loyal of us still jumped through hoops to join in, i know i did for a couple of years And they promised a western release - 4 years ago. So it seems that the Sega we all once knew (at least to me) is a lost cause, and they will keep shooting themselves till they are dead. After they release Sonic 27 that is. Scuse that, i went a bit dark there! DC re-release!!!! WOOOOOOO
-
Hey Asfaleia and welcome to the forum, Could you verify what type of rom set you have - is it merged or split? QUICK EDIT - also you mention your Custom.ini - what do you mean by that? Could you also post it so we can get a better grasp of the situation.
-
I gather you meant something like insomnia, sleep deprivation, working too hard etc but you literally just said 'vampire' lol Might be time to recharge ye ol batterisms eh?
-
All Sega has to do is re-release the DC. It was too far ahead of its time. How many of you would pre-order the second it was announced? Look how fast the paltry NES Mini and SNES Mini sold out - now imagine a full re-release DC, that runs original GDI discs and had a digital download store! Off topic i know but damn, why don't these companies do it properly! ?

HAHA! I signed in to reply to this topic, then got an alert that i was mentioned in this topic Seriously though, OOOOOMMMMGZ, you're really going for this?? Fair play, tips hat, flips a shilling etc. I thought initially as i was reading "i should warn him, it's the decent thing to do", then, as i read on i became painfully aware how far down the rabbit hole you've already gone! As a user/player and not a coder, when TTX was first dumped and had a "loader" (quotes are deliberate), i had a face like this: Then i tried to use it. The "loader" is a joke and it serves no purpose other than to be a sort of hacked together front end. I spent weeks trying to get it working right because i know how good the shmups are, but i got so irate at it all that i vowed never to touch it again till someone with better skills than I would do something about it. And now here you are stigz. I knew it would be someone like you! I'm behind this onehunruh n ten persen! I got Homura and Shikigami 3 working like a dream in the end, but the Raidens, PFFFT! had way over the ori specs but still ran like a dogs dinner, that a dog had eaten, thrown up, ate again and then threw up again. I ended up buying PC vers of Raiden IV coz i was so mad lol Hence i have not touched this system since, which was over 2 years ago if i recall, but man kudos to you for taking this on

It depends what you want want to use it for really. As i said before a 180 wheel will be fine for all arcade games, but if you want to use the same wheel to emulate more modern systems, and use it on modern hardware (to play games like DiRT Rally, Asseto Corsa, Project Cars etc) then accuracy will count. That said i will give my 2 cents. Thrustmaster is overpriced junk unless you can afford their top-end stuff, and even then it's 3x the price of competitors. Logitech are known for their great affordable peripherals - they know their market and have delivered for many many years. Look at the support for both companies. /my2c

I had no idea! I think at this point we should stop saying balls BALLS.
-
Sorry, it's just a normal arcade stick In Europe we had balls lol USA had sticks They are the same thing heheh. EU (left) vs US (right): That's the only reason i said ball-stick, they both have the same function. My point was that early arcade games only mimicked these controls (using wheels) - but you could play all of the early games just as well with the above controls. It wasn't till much later that wheels became relevant.
-
In my experience with Windows, if you use identical controllers, for instance 2x360 wired, it will not distinguish between them without 3rd party intervention. It is strange behavior i know, especially considering a lot of recent emulators WILL treat them individually.
-
The PS1 gave birth to Chemical Brothers though, and this is why: This very track also influenced many to come!
-
Mmmmm-hmmmm know that. In UK most properties don't even have a basement! Let alone one that size. Damn. It's good to be rich i spose
-
Depends really. The old old games that had a steering wheel were gimmicks mostly, such as Spy Hunter. They were just "clicks" incorporated into a wheel - a gimmick. As time went on, wheels would do more clicks per second the more you turned the wheel. Bare in mind you could still play these games just as effectively with a standard ball-stick. They weren't that accurate either. It wasn't until games like Ridge Racer when things were improved, and became more precise (controls became analogued), in arcades at least. To answer your question though, with those old games a 180 would be fine. With more modern (arcade) games a 180 would probably also be fine. Depends on the calibration. If it were me though, and i could only buy second hand, i'd buy a modern analogue wheel! They work with both MAME and modern games,

I played the ori SNES version AND the off-series gamecube version. I loved the SNES version, i also had "Lawnmower Man" at the same time or soon after, of which i loved too. I think it was coz of the tech at the time - it was all new and awesome. I still love them both now when i play em
