  1. The only thing I think has changed since then is the global escape hook... am I correct in assuming that has something to do with it?
  2. Man I'm stumped on this one. It almost certainly needs attention from someone higher up than me. I can't think of anything else to suggest other than Shark007 codecs but I don't feel like thay will fix this issue. I suppose we'll have to see.
  3. Awesomesauce! If you edit your 1st post you should also be able to edit the thread title to add [RESOLVED]
  4. So it's fixed for you then?
  5. No, Shark007's codec packs add Vista codecs to XP. Can you try one of the games that doesn't work in GameEx on arcade.gameex.com and see if it works in your browser?
  6. Thanks.
  7. LOL! I thought maybe that was exclusive to the unregistered versions, I admittedly don't have a ton of experience with logs from unregistered users. Worst comes to worst, just put a blank help.txt in that location and see if you can get it past that point.
  8. That seems more like a Flash issue to me. Can you go to adobe's website via Internet Explorer and update your flash player to 10.3 please? I'm willing to bet that's the issue. This might also solve the issue with YouTube videos as well. .:EDIT:. If you do what Drac suggested, make sure you uninstall K-Lite first, then restart before installing Shark007's Vista Codec Pack.
  9. Man is XP just having a bad run or what? I'll poke into the log and see what it says, but chances are the problem is after the nag screen. .:EDIT:. Everything looks legit to me. I never seen the cmd line try and pull mame.exe -help before. Do you have that file in there where GameEx is looking for it? It's the last entry in your log file there.
  10. Interesting. I don't think I have these issues and obviously I use BlueBox Mod 2.0 The only difference is I use xpadder as opposed to direct joypad inputs. My keyboard works just fine. Does this also happen after GameEx returns from 'attract mode'?
  11. Tough to say. I hate to say it but it may be time to invest in a new gfx card friend. Can you tell me if GameEx Arcade works for you or not so we can eliminate the flash player?
  12. Do you have to do that every time? Or it just happened once?
  13. Hi Tom! Am I p!$$!ng you off yet? (*LOL*) I must be nuts. I love trying to mod everything visible wherever possible... 100% custom to the end. That being said, I thought it would be cool to make my own auto update screen. I just made something fast to test, but if some issues could be looked at I'd really like to make something more permanent. Replacing this PNG works, and once I hammer down the exact location of the progress bar, something really neat could come of this project. Would it be possible to have GameEx not overwrite AutoUpdate1.png when it updates itself if it detects it? In the mean time, will setting the file attribute to "read only" screw up the update process? I've only had a chance test it once, and it does indeed overwrite whatever I put there. I haven't been able to test changing the attribute, but when I was doing the same for my bezel before it halted the install and put up a prompt. I'm assuming this will be the case here too, but again I can only 'test' when new versions come out. Please advise.
  14. Thanks a bunch for the updates Tom!
  15. Well... I ran GameEx and it does all these things fine for me. I can watch YouTube videos, videos over the network, surf the net, the weather page works, I even tested GameEx arcade. I tried each several times as AlphaUMi suggested, and there's nothing wrong for me. It's flawless. The only thing I encountered was this while watching videos encoded in mp4, and this does not happen while watching videos using WMP: That may be the codec pack on the test machine. It doesn't do it on my W7 machine. The point here is that videos play, no problem. I am using the default 'Media Center' theme. A quick note though... The startup screen (gameexisloading.png) displays on the XP machine, but is still absent on my W7 machine. *puzzled* @Alpha: Can you do me a favor and make sure your Direct X and video card drivers are updated/current please?
  16. Can you post your theme.ini please?
  17. Awesome! Great work as usual Tom!
  18. Thanks Tom!
  19. Can you also post your log garboy? I'd like to look for similarities.
  20. Man, it seems to me that GameEx only really needs 2.0 anyways unless the documentation needs to be updated. Can you try a couple things? Uninstall and reinstall .net 2.0 Download the GameEx offline installer and run it afterwards. Not sure what else to try.
  21. Maybe GameEx doesn't hook 4 yet. Can you install 1 and 1.1? That's the only difference I can see.
  22. Looks like 2 and 3 are installed. You sure you got 4 on there? Check your installed programs list and see if it shows up in there. The only thing I have that you don't (aside from 4) is .net 1.0
  23. Man that really looks like a .net error to me... your GameEx log is under start->all programs -> gameex -> utilities What are all the versions of .net you have installed?
  24. Hiya Hunk. We're gonna need to see your full GameEx log after the crash. Please make sure your .net framework is up to date and you have applied all the service packs.
  25. that's the gameex.ini but may also prove to be helpful. What theme are you using? Try switching to the Default - Default theme. Does it still crash? Does every theme cause the crash?
