  1. @ zeenon: MS Word would do just fine, but I forsee the final project as a PDF being easier to navigate.
  2. I would be very interested in this. I admittedly don't have PinballX set up on anything, and if I had this type of documentation in my arsenal I could get up and running without worry about the learning curve, which based on my experience with VP is probably quite sharp. Not to mention it would help me as a staff member to be able to assist new users, which I'm unable to do currently. That being said, early props to any of you who pitch in on this project. The community on the whole would greatly benefit, and I'm sure Tom would be grateful..
  3. Send Tom an email from the address it was initially sent to. ;-) If you don't have access to that email, send one with your name and email you used to buy your key. He retains that info I imagine.
  4. Don't feel bad Han. Even if I do make the board there's no way in hell I'll hit that high score. :-(
  5. Does it help if you set your slingbox up to use a static ip address? Assuming you don't have it set that way that is...
  6. We're playing with ac in our labs at school and it supposedly gives gigabit a run for its money, and will probably be close to the accepted standard. Apparently the conversion to digital over the air TV opened up the frequencies that make ac possible, but a lot of wireless mics and baby monitors operate in the same frequency range, so these items cause enough interference to be a problem. So there's a little extra knowledge for ya.
  7. Thanks for the share. :-) Feel free to upload them to or community download portal if you haven't already done so.
  8. I must be off my game because I can't seem to get a decent score, I'm making tons of mistakes and probably spending too much time point farming by breaking bottles. I'll show up eventually though... but not until I'm happy with my score.
  9. Yeah free super saver shipping is fine, but free next day shipping is better! Not to mention the kindle lending library for prime, it's worth it imho. I don't like waiting for stuff though... I also get it cheap because I'm a student, so it makes the decision easier for me.
  10. Is that for the gamercard? These guys are right, it's not packed in an exe.
  11. Can't speak to ac as almost everything I use is wired except my laptop and it's only an n, I only really use that for coding and downloading music from Beatport, so the speed isn't important. Amazon Prime is great though! The wife loves the free kindle books, I watch movies for free, and we already order stuff from there all the time so the prompt shipping is completely worth the investment, no doubt!
  12. No worries, I forgot to direct you at it. Just thought people (or the person, hehe) relying on the fix I added knew so they could redownload it, as this release overwrites it with the previous version.
  13. 90% of software comes this way. Folks ought to just slow down and read if they want to avoid toolbars. ;-) Its only for the first install too, it's not like a lot of software out there where you have to look hard just to download the free version, and have to opt out of the extras each and every time you update.
  14. Thanks Tom! Just a note that the Xpadder Plugin was also updated, I'll try to have Tom put it into the next release if I remember.

What is it? It's a plugin to take official snapshots of your MAME hi-scores for the GameEx Hi-Score Competition. This tool saves some leg work of having to type the same data everytime, and overlays some information and artwork to make it harder to fake. The overlay contains your username, initials used, MAME version, GameEx version, ROM name, and Override Mode (if used). Just take the snap and upload it to the game's competition thread. How do I use it? The configuration is really simple, just type in your user name and initials. Everything else is automatic. This plugin downloads and uses a centralized gameslist which is updated with the Hi-Score Database. As long as you have an active internet connection, you will always have the latest game list available. Offline users can download the gameslist.txt from here and place it in the GameEx>Plugins>HiScore Snapper directory. The plugin only enables itself for games that are in the database, so there's no effect on your MAME games at all. Just take a snap of your high score by holding [sHIFT+HOME] (I have a hotkey set up for this in Xpadder and it's working great! You can take many pictures in a row in the case of blinking hi-scores). I also added a camera shutter sound effect that plays when the snap is taken, so you know you got it. The snap is then overlaid with the artwork and information in the picture, and you can come upload it to the thread when you're done. You can set several options from the Configuration screen, including: User Name This is the username you use for all your leaderboard entries. The global leaderboard depends on this! Initials The initials you type into the game for your hi-score Snap Directory All your snapshots will be saved into this directory. By default, they are saved in the plugin's configuration folder located in GameEx>Plugins>HiScore Snapper Image Size Specify the height and width of the snap with these values. By default the size is 1024x768 Image Type Choose to save your images as JPEG, PNG, or GIF The images are saved in the root folder specified, with a subfolder for the game name. The physical file name is generated based on a time stamp of when it was taken. To view the last game snap you took using the plugin, click on the preview image in the lower right corner to open a viewer window. There is also a status strip at the bottom of the configuration form that will show what version of MAME you currently have set up in GameEx. There's a small catch though. Here's the rub... I can't seem to get pictures from D3D without a great deal of extra work (the snaps all come out black). So unfortunately I have decided that the only way I can support D3D snapshots is by having the user compile their own version with DirectInput enabled. The process really isn't that difficult, and helps with adding support for things like Xpadder compatibility to your build. UPDATE: As of 1.0.3, you no longer need to worry about renderer changes. MAME Mode supports all renderers that MAME supports instead of forcing DirectDraw. I found a bug! What do I do about it? If you have questions, suggestions, or bug reports, please direct them here. Thank you for your support!
  16. Absolutely! I can assume that means it's working now? It may have not been working for some time... it was an oversight that probably stretches back several versions to when I rewrote the xpadder class.
  17. According to your log, it's looking to s:/-GAMEBASE- for your ROMs. Did you copy things from one place to another? Because your emulator ini and your log don't seem to jive together. Like you have two different installations or something, I'm not sure. There is definitely a problem though because the emulator is set up properly. It almost seems to me like there's more than one installation of GameEx on your machine or something... the emulator doesn't have any kind of mention of GAMEBASE anywhere in it.
  18. So the emulator is showing up but the games aren't? Make sure your path to the ROMs is correct Check that you have the filter set to the proper extension Make sure you don't have the ROMs in subfolders option on unless they are in subfolders Make sure you don't have the zip/7zip option turned on unless you have multiple ROMs in a single archive I can't see your log files right now because I'm on tapatalk, but these would be good places to start.
  19. They decided to upgrade everything including our servers. I'm sure it wasn't cheap, but some of our equipment can be found next to dinosaur fossils in the museum, so it was needed. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. :-)
  20. That's what I thought. We're moving all our client systems up to W7 and it's been a nightmare. :'(
  21. Thank you Tom! Will the downloader also support these new videos?
  22. Aren't they canning support for XP soon anyways?

DracLabs Plugin Downloader What is it? It's an application to browse, download, and install all of my plugins using one handy interface. All you need is GameEx and an internet connection. I plan for this to support all plugins, not just mine... but for the time being no one else has made one, so it's all DracLabs content... Hopefully one day that will change. How do I use it? Launch the EXE. Browse to the GameEx executable using the [...] button. Select the plugin you wish to install from the drop down list, click the button, and viola! You did it! There's a news blotter at the top so you can always stay up on the latest releases. Where is the forum post for this? Bug reports and other helpful feedback, along with a full changelog, can be found here. Thank you for your support!
  24. Quick update to 1.1.2: Fixed a bug where Xpadder was not being terminated if no profile was found. The plugin will now check for the process and close it if it is not needed for that game or emulator.
  25. Wow! That is absolutely AWESOME! If you sell that, lmk!!
