  1. If at all possible I believe that it is recommended to not Run as administrator, but probably something that can be addressed later if you decide to move VP9.x to a root location.
  2. So all reported issues resolved?
  3. Please attach copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files from right after the error condition in reply to this thread. Thanks!
  4. +1 on downloading and installing the latest version of PinballX as it can become difficult to troubleshoot some errors that may be remedied in subsequent versions.
  5. Please attach copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files to yoyr thread (no copy & paste) when requesting assistance. It is very possible from what you are describing may still be a protection issue and, if your VP 9.x app and tables are installed under Program Files you may need to reinstall to tla root folder, which is recommended.
  6. Yesterday was the last day for the Xbox 360 Marketplace.
  7. Thanks for the response. Memory gaps being filled here as well. At least we know where to make the manual changes if one desires and potential caveats. Agreed. By Developer (and By Publisher) additions should show in Custom settings within the Setup Wizard.
  8. Not sure that is necessary to change the English.ini - I was able to change it just selecting Custom via Text/Language within the Setup Wizard: Next, I went to the menu items that I wanted to change: Note that I modified "By Category" to display only "Category" within GameEx. I also deleted the text next to "By Genre." The end result - "By Category" now reads as "Category" and there is no reference to "By Genre" in the menu bar: Since my install is in English, my Custom is going to show English - not certain that it displays in German if the default German install is selected. Something Tom would probably know. However, I did go into the German.ini file and deleted "Nach Genre" and no By Genre reference within the tool bar: Now I do have to wonder if the language .ini files are altered, will they be overwritten by subsequent updates to GameEx? If so, will there be problems with making the language .ini files Read Only that will prevent GameEx from potentially updating correctly or crashing?
  9. Thanks, Tom! I had a feeling it would be something coded that could not be disabled/enabled via either of the .ini file entries.
  10. Can you attach copies of your theme.ini file from both old and new themes?
  11. This would be a different pursuit as the Remove "Genres" Main Menu thread is a different location altogether within GameEx Arcade Edition menu system. This one is in the "Tool Bar" across the top of the display (GameEx only) and, if I recall correctly, may be a hard-coded item, until it isn't (meaning @Tom Speirsmight have a similar enable/disable line that could be manually entered into the GameEx.ini file to modify the toolbar entries. I did look and did not see any entries for "bydeveloper" or "By Developer" from within the GameEx.ini with which to experient, so will defnitiely need Tom's guidance. If this requires a coding change then it may need to be addressed as a Feature Request.
  12. Let's open this as a new thread, please, for further exploration. Be sure to attach and screen caps of the current example. Thanks!
  13. Try downloading and running the install file again? That has worked for me when "the update loop" occurs.
  14. I find that, often, less is more my friend! I look forward to kicking the tires when you are ready! 👍🏻
  15. Were you able to resolve this?
  16. Thanks! BTW your Magnum_2024 theme looks great! Can you zip it up and attach it as well? Would love to see it added to the repository to share with others if you are so inclined! If not, you can send it to my attention as a private message so I can see if it replicates in my setup.
  17. Hey there - when reporting an issue for assistance, it is prudent to attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files in your thread. Also, you mention a specific font being used but did not give the name of the font file - can you do that please? Lastly, can you attach in your reply a screen capture of the description field display error? Thanks!
  18. You don't run it as Administrator in Instant Sheller. Your compiled script should be loaded separate from InstantSheller as part of Windows Startup. You have to go to the exe you compiled, right-click then left-click Properties. From there, click on the Compatibility tab and select "Run this program as an administrator" and click OK to apply the change and close the Properties window.
  19. Hi. I believe this is already a feature. Refer to the 'I" for instructions referenced in mid-thread.
  20. In the usual FTP location noted in the first post. TeknoParrot "spinball" and Wheel Logo files:
  21. For use within my Sims emulator group, combining my individual simulator emulator slots into one group.
  22. The Win 8 UI was problematic for me. 8.1 was a bit better and no disagreement about the performance compared to 7. 10 "put the candle back" and then some. 11 security and supported chip requirements are too aggressive IMO. The UI changes are meh at best.
  23. As much as Vista was maligned initially, I found Windows 8/8.1 to be more of a PITA. I don't know that we will get to Windows 13 before the AI Apocalypse is upon us. Good-bye Copilot - Hello SKYNET!
  24. Yeah, I have been tossing that idea around more again lately. I have a few older Dell desktops in a good state (other than not Win 11 compatible) that would work nicely for that. Of course, the ADHD kicks in and says "Well, since you are thinking about a print server, why not have the box serve files (media, local backups, etc.) and I hear the cha-CHING cha-CHING of an old-fashioned cash register as the components start to add up. BAD ADHD!
  25. Yeah, I was goiing to do the same but thought it a good exercise to put it back into the user's court to do the right thing. Go Go Google Translate!
