  1. fReq - you PAID for Karaoke? Wel,, I guess we all pay for it in one way or another, eh? I just started a little tinkering with it and can see using it when my adult kids come to visit and party a little with us old folks so not looking for anything major. I might just take a look at Bulk Rename Utility to see if it can be adapted for use. Thanks for the suggestion!
  2. Rene - Welcome to the Forum! I will attempt to answer some of the issues you may be encountering. Items showing in red will be for Tom or the more experienced GameEx Admins and Gurus to address if possible. Blue are my answers but I am sure if someone knows a better answer, I can count on them to counter my response or add to them! For these items I will ask that you provide copies of your gameex.ini file (you will need to save as a text (.txt) file to upload to attach in the post as the IPBoard does not allow for .ini files due to security) and your log.txt file. That way we can see what settings you are using. Also may be good to know a bit more about your PC that you are using (Windows version, 32 or 64-bit, amount of RAM, video card make/model and GPU RAM). We may be able to determine some tweaks that will speed things up a little Not sure about this one - perhaps Tom or one of the Admins or other GameEx Gurus will have an answer but seems to me that this may be an enhancement request. This is working as designed - likely an enhancement request. This is working as designed - likely an enhancement request. This sounds clearly like a settings issue. Go into the Advanced Configuration under Attract/Screensaver. Places to look at for this would be "Only Favorites" Select Yes or No and "Other Emulators" Select Yes or No.
  3. Does anyone have any recommendations for a freeware Karaoke CDG/MP3 renaming utility? Depending on the source of the karaoke files, the naming conventions are all over the place and I would like to be able to order better based on genre (Rock, Country, etc.) Artist, and Song Name. I could do so individually but with hundreds of files it is daunting and not quite the chore I want to kill a few days off doing.
  4. In what way do you mean? Can you give some more detailed examples? The idea behind custom menus is that you can name it and point them to whatever folder or program you desire.
  5. Krakerman has been about for a while so if he says it is good it probably is. While I am not emulating the console (yet) I did a quick "google" for ZX Emulators and was surprised at the number that show up with many very actively supported.
  6. Agreed. Kind of falls into my logic paths of "do I need to install EVERY emulator and have every ROM that is out there?" followed by "if I look about enough, I can probably find that very same game emulated on a different platform" or "I have survived how long without it and if will I continue if I don't?" Have you tried ZX Spectrum 4 .net?
  7. I don't believe it to be a bug to be honest. I notice that if I am in windowed mode and doing things in other windows, where my mouse is relative to my GameEx window sometimes determines where the cursor focus lands should focus be drawn to that window. I also run custom menus and do not see this behavior when in fullscreen and only seldom in windowed.
  8. Well the HTPC could also do doubletime as a media server so she could access stuff from her netbook!
  9. Just a few of the Logos that accompany my latest theme... yes, throwing out the trail of cookie crumbs!
  10. Well, I am a bit envious to say the least and really hate you right now! j/k Good job and keep us posted on the progress! Seriously, I am still debating on a cab, htpc setup, or a decent pedestal/quad CP that I can wheel away from the living room when not in use. Regardless, I will likely install wireless NIC or go the ethernet over powerline route (which, for the Xbox 360 is working quite well and much better throughput than the original wireless adapter).
  11. Unfortunately I can only max at 1680 x 1050 at 60hz. I wonder, though if the 48hz is too low for 1080P to handle? In looking through all of the resolutions my video card can handle, it appears that the lowest I could possibly fo is 800x600 at 56 hz and the hz increases with the resolution. Have you tried 1080P at 60 or 75 hz?
  12. I tried to replicate the error and am not able to based on the settings I am seeing. I am assuming your GPU is an nVidia - can you try installing the latest drivers for it (if you have the latest, try reinstalling them). and see if that helps clear up the errors?

It is set to fill width and no way to change how it is displayed.
  15. That's a new one (to me anyhow). A little more about your system configuration would be helpful. Can you please post a copy of the log file (post crash) as well as your gameex.ini file? You will need to save the gameex.ini as a test file as the IPBoard for the forum will not accept .ini . Thanks!
  16. Delete all files containing the word cache in them in the DATA directory and restart GameEx.
  17. "No, Honey, I'm not infected.. I just take this penicillin to, uh, um, clear up my acne! Yeah, that's the ticket!" Oops! Wrong thread/forum/website! Now where is that damned UNDO button... I like how AVG tseems to think that nvsvc32.exe is malware. it is actually part of the nVidia driver helper.

Here are the steps to remedy the error (Thanks to magiccm for the fix!) 1. Uninstall Ghostscript, - since there is no uninstall program you must do this manually via REGEDIT. You will need to delete the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GPL Ghostscript 2. Delete the gs folder you will find under c:\Program Files (you will also find an entry under c:\Program Files (x86) if using Vista/7) 3. Run OfflineGameManualInstall.exe (Should be located under the root Gameex folder) and select the correct registry key for your machine (64-bit or 32-bit). 4. Carefully read the prompts if using Vista or 7 64-bit! The first prompt will prompt you for updating the registry and installation of GS under C:\Program Files (x86)\gs\gs-64bit.reg. Click Yes. You will then be prompted to update the registry for the 32-bit version and update C:\Program Files (x86)\gs\gs-32bit.reg. Click No. I have tested these steps thoroughly and my problem was resolved! I am now able to read my manuals although I would much rather play my games!

I am running into a similar problem even after installing OfflineGameManualInstall.exe. Below is a copy of my log file: All paths for my manuals are correct yet the log shows Game Manual images not found.

    It's Here!

You can rename the logos to whatever you like to fit your theme. I just tried to "categorize" the naming consistency with the backgrounds & foregrounds and the categories for the emulator setups. So feel free to mod what ya want to your heart's content! Thanks for the compliment!

    It's Here!

Krakerman - Thanks - corrected the link in my original post. Adultery - All of the foregrounds are the same, the backgrounds I varied by image according to manufacturer, etc. A lot of the work went into the new logo files. Be sure to read the Readme file for theme-specific info.

    It's Here!

I have posted in the User Submitted Themes & Media thread of the Pinned Topics forum - please take a look, especially those of you running at 1920x1080 and let me know how well this works with your system. The "Sins of a Solar Empire" theme is located here for those interested. Thanks in advance for giving it a try!
  23. New Theme - Sins of a Solar Empire! This is my first attempt at 1920 x1080 so please, give it a go, kick the tires, and give me feedback! Be forwarned it is a pretty decent sized file even zipped (almost 209 MB).
  24. It doesn't. Better to stick with Daphne for that one.
  25. Do you see a gray drop-down button to the far right of the field? If so, when you click on it you should see a list of the background images from which to select.
