  1. When reporting an issue of any kind, please attach copies of your GameEx.ini and log.tx files to review. Typically this kind of issue is a file name mismatch.
  2. @Tom SpeirsI sourced another 500+ and added them to the FTP under /-GameEx-/- Emulator Artwork & Videos -/Microsoft Windows/Logos.
  3. From all of us to all of you, have a safe and prosperous New Year!
  4. GeForce RTX 5090 Prices To Soar To $5000 As NVIDIA & AMD Prep GPU Price Hikes in Q1 26 Destined to become the most expensive GPU to date.
  5. PC Manufacturers are fighting for memory capacity. AI is not only impacting corporate jobs - it is also impacting console & PC makers and, small repair businesses. I’ve struggled getting my repair and upgrade business off the ground before RAM and memory manufacturers shifted away from consumer production to focus on meeting the demands of AI data centers. Now, RAM upgrades, SSDs, and GPUs are getting priced out of reach, and analysts don’t expect any relief in demand or prices until 2027 or 2028. I’m sticking with what I’ve started. Even with rising costs and the growing scarcity of some parts, it’s still more affordable than tossing out old hardware and buying new. I believe there’s still real value in promoting the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recover for PCs. Reduce: Optimize hardware usage and software efficiency to minimize the need for new PCs. This can include upgrading to more energy-efficient components and using cloud services instead of local hardware. Reuse: Repurpose old PCs for different uses, such as upgrading to a more powerful processor or upgrading to a different operating system. This can extend the life of the hardware and reduce waste. Recycle: Participate in organized recycling programs to ensure that your old PC components are disposed of responsibly. Look for local recycling centers or programs that accept electronic devices. Recover: Invest in repair services or consider purchasing parts from authorized retailers to maintain your PC's functionality without contributing to waste. This can help keep valuable materials in circulation. Many of us grew up watching our parents and grandparents, or even joining in, as they lived by these principles in different parts of life. Wearing hand-me-down clothes, scavenging parts to fix up a lawnmower or an old car, turning an old cooking pot into a planter for seedlings or cuttings – whatever it was, we did it! We should keep moving forward despite the economy and the current costs and availability of these essential parts, perhaps just scaling back a bit where possible. For example, I am refurbishing a donated laptop to give to my sister. It uses DDR3 RAM up to an 8GB single stick (presently it has 4GB). DDR3 and below are the least impacted, so I bought it. I was originally looking to replace the 512GB SATA HDD with a 1TB SATA SSD. Current SSD prices have increased 25-50%, depending upon the brand. Additionally, I have to replace the battery. So she will get a 512GB SATA SSD. Most of her activity is web surfing and social media, with some light bill management & banking online. I have a spare small external drive (made from a used but still viable 2.5" HDD and external enclosure) I'll throw in so she can save important pictures and documents.
  6. Notice from ByteDelight notice of webshop closure due to Ben Versteeg's (aka ByteDelight) passing December 19, 2025. Memorium on Facebook: In memoriam – Ben Versteeg (ByteDelight) Ben Versteeg, the person many in the ZX Spectrum community knew as the heart and hands behind ByteDelight, has sadly passed away. Ben was not just a hardware maker. He was a craftsman, a true enthusiast, and a member of the scene who quietly and consistently helped keep the ZX Spectrum alive - through his designs, his support, and his integrity. His devices, including DivMMC, are now part of countless ZX Spectrum systems around the world. They still work. They are still in use. And through them, his legacy lives on. What makes this loss even harder is that Ben was relatively young, and his passing came as a complete shock. The family has confirmed his death, but no public details about the cause have been shared, which we should respect. If you own his hardware - use it. If it sits in a display case - preserve it. These are small but meaningful ways to honour someone who gave so much to this community. Rest in peace, Ben. You will not be forgotten by the ZX Spectrum world.

  7. Will do it for you. You can do it as well by editing the first message in your thread then marking it in the subject.
  8. Attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files when reporting an issue. This helps us to better initiate triage of the problem. Thanks! What exactly do you want us to see in the upper left? Also, is this a custom theme?
  9. This is well beyond my experience, so will need to have @Tom Speirstake a look. 10. Not sure what is going on with the username/password. Where is this occurring? Will also need your gameex.ini file. Thanks.
  11. Please attach copies of your GameEx.ini and log txt files (no copy & paste) for review. Also, what kind of games? Emulator or Windows? A little more detail will help along with the requested files.
  12. I remember working for Software Etc. (former competitor turned sister company of Babbages) and seeing Netscape Navigator on the Applications sales rack. It didn't last long after Microsoft started packaging Internet Explorer (licensed from Spyglass Mosaic) as an add-on to Windows 95. While I may wax nostalgically about my time there, I do not miss the calls from the snot-nosed "tweens' calling to see when "XYZ" was being released for "ABC" console, or pushing to provide them the cheat codes for various games - "Erm-um, call Nintendo, dumbass!" Well, we couldn't say that, but we would give them the US corporate toll-free number to the various manufacturers and we thought it real hard!
  13. Steam’s December update finally brings a fully 64‑bit client to Windows, modernizing the platform after years of partial support.
  14. May you get what you want and need! May your loved ones be present and their travels safe! May your heart be filled with joy and love! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  15. This brings back some memories of a simpler, more civilized time long, long ago.... Two Telnet "links" in the image to access the OG BBS or the new modern version.
  16. UPDATE - I added Seagate BarraCuda 4TB Internal Hard Drive HDD for game storage. I am still indecisive as to whether or not I should go with a dual-boot setup, but it is not as straightforward as, say, Linux Mint.
  17. Meant to ask what you have in your spare parts bar top! SO, whatcha got?
  18. UPDATE - I have resolved the last issue, which could have been caused by a hardware or driver failure, specifically an "AMD PSP device power failure code 10 " in this instance. It turns out that all I needed to do was uninstall and force delete the driver, run Check for Updates, and Voilà! - issue resolved!
  19. My ass got sore just sourcing the ones I did only to realize you have me beat 4x over. 😮
  20. I shoulda looked at the FTP directory first! You already have a TON of stuff there!
  21. Gotcha, will stick with the 800p x 600p scaling then as this seemed to work best when I was manually setting up AE custom lists.
  22. And what about logo dimensions? Is there a "sweet spot" in width or height to avoid overcrowding on the wheel!
  23. P.S. Will the other online stores scrape media from this FTP location?
  24. UPDATE - It's going to be a bit before I make the plunge to Bazzite. I am working out a few hardware issues that are easier for me to triage via Windows initially. I had intended to leverage the m.2 WiFi/Bluetooth card since there are no exposed USB headers, which is required for the Bluetooth of the add-on card to work. Well, it was v4.2 and would see the Xbox One controller, but immediately drop connection. I removed the m.2 WiFi/Bluetooth card and bought an XMSJSIY USB A to 9 Pin USB Header, 9 Pin Motherboard Male IDC Dupont to USB 2.0 Type A Male Cable Cord Extender Adapter Converter Cable - 20cm to connect to the Bluetooth header cable that came with the card and plug it into one of the rear USB ports. I installed the drivers and BINGO! Stable Bluetooth 5.3 connection to my controller!
  25. I noticed on the FTP that there is a logo subfolder, shouldn't they go there? Let me know. Also, I have over 600 that I downloaded from https://www.steamgriddb.com/ and other sources. In addition, I resized all (some were VERY big) to fit within an 800p x 600p box. This should mitigate any sizing issues within wheel menus.
