  1. I was merely suggesting to use the other tool if the Wizard wasn't working out for him. It was not my intent to make the Wizard appear less functional. I think the Wizard is great, and hope more users will use it. As for sman2626, good job on figuring out the problem and getting it resolved.
  2. I'm anxious to see a full rounded version of GameEx with tv support too, but I'm not desperate. I think Tom should work on getting everything working and running smoothly with what's already here first. Maybe throw in a couple of requests that are easy to do. But ultimately, hold off on tv-support until there's some solid time to work on it and get it done right.
  3. I would double and triple check the paths. Check the command line. If they still don't show up after doing an update list, I'd try uninstalling GameEx and reinstall it. Then go through the standard configurator rather than the wizard. Don't type in any paths, click on the 'Browse' button and browse to their locations. Once thats all done, update the list again. If you still don't have anything, check your filters, and update again. Still nothing, report back and somebody else might have another idea for you.
  4. I've not tried to use videos for any other emulators besides MAME. Something you could do is check your MAME videos in GameEx and see if they work. If they don't, then you're probably having a driver or codec problem. It sounds like it might be codec, but you said you can view them in Media Player. It might have something to do with your video mode in GameEx. Did you change the option to force 16-bit mode? If so, change it back. If not, try setting it to 16-bit mode and see if that helps. I don't really know what else to try though because, like I said, I haven't tried to use videos for anything else yet (not enough drive space).
  5. You could try jnes.. thats the one Tom's default config used and I've used it ever since. I've not tried any of the others.. It might work for you. I wish I had a job so I could by an LCDTop Gun..
  6. hehe
  7. I'm not sure what exactly they're looking for. All I can say is check out the link I posted.
  8. Yep, you got it!
  9. Hey HK, can you hack dll's? Over at thegreenbutton theres some guys trying to hack the dll on Intel Viiv media centers to try and get MCE's online spotlight to also show Viiv-only links. So far, it works enough to show a few of them, but they don't all work. It comes up saying you need a Viiv PC. Apparently it's doing a dll check, and they're looking for somebody who can hack one to try and get a fix going. The thread is here.
  10. I've not seen this.. did you do a direct download of the 7.02 version? I believe Tom mentioned the autodownloader still doesn't work right yet.
  11. Hey night, for the "AllInOne", could you make another one for GameBoyAdvance so that the system pic is the SP? Maybe you could include both versions in your final set, call it like Ver1 and Ver2 or something.
  12. According to this website (offering WinGun driver), the PS1 GunCon won't work . Here's a snippit from their FAQ: # Can I really use any PS2 lightgun? How about PS1 lightguns? * You can use any gun which is "guncon2 compatible", and has a USB connector. NOT every PS2 guncon2 compatible gun has these, so check before you buy one. You cannot use Playstation 1 lightguns, mainly because we do not have any way to connect them, but also because the standard they use is different.
  13. Mame doesn't emulate all roms at 100%. This may be where you're getting trouble. If some games are fine and others are slow, this is the reason. However, if all mame games are slow, you may need to check your settings. Try mame outside of gameex and see if you still have a problem.
  14. What do you know of this? I don't have a PS2 Guncon, but I do have one that was for PS1. Are the the same? Please help me, I'd love to use what I already have rather than pay money to buy something I don't desperately need.
  15. Did you get my PM?
  16. Check your PM's Adultry. I know we can't post links on the forum.
  17. Filtering is also available in Mame32Plus!
  18. Heh I still own mine, and my Master System and Genesis/32x/CD.. never got a Saturn.

    Emulator Mess

First question - I would have said set your show desktop to yes, which you already did. So yes, you need to configure the emulator first. Make sure you have it set to go full screen on rom load, or on emulator launch, etc. Then GameEx just launches it and inserts the rom as needed. If the emulator doesn't have a direct menu option to go full screen, you may need to tweak some things. For example; changing a setting in the emulators configure file (like an ini file or whatever), adding a command line option (like -fullscreen) or adding a keystroke in the send keys section of the configurator (like an alt+enter keystroke to make it full screen). Second question - Gen's should have an option to turn on/off the fps. Go into Gens, then Option, them Misc..., then in the second box it has FPS. Either uncheck the box that says "Enable" of tweak the color, size, transparency to your liking. Hope that helps! Welcome to the forum and have fun playing! -Han
  20. #6 -> make sure you have the option "only working games" set to no. Mame will display all the games it knows it can play, but not fully working (like, graphic problems, or bad sound). GameEx, however, ignores these 'partially' working games, and only shows the ones that are full on WORKING. Setting the filter to NO will tell GameEx to just list ALL the games. It's up to you to remember which games are just partially working ones.
  21. If the page file is really the culprit, you could always change it's settings, and even turn it off if need be. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance [settings] -> Advanced Tab -> Virtual Memory [Change] I have the page file disabled on all my drives except the C:\ drive. And that drive is set to a maximum of 256k. You can configure it however you want. The file is used as virtual RAM on the hard drive. If you're RAM is full, or not fast enough, it writes the data here. The larger the size, the more you have, but it takes a lot more power to write and rewrite over such a large size. I had my system set to NO page files at all for a long time, but recently I read somewhere that it helps to have a little bit.

    800MB Cd-R?

If I remember right, burning programs know of a safety limit for CD's. They're like a garaunteed burn limit that the CD will work properlly. If you have a drive that supports overburn, then the software will bypass and ignore the safety limit and 'overburn' beyond it to get more data on the disc. However, because you're exceeding the safety limit, your chances of having a succesful burn with full readability lessens... Of course, I could be wrong. Thats just how I figure it is.
  23. Did you download GameEx 7.01 from the website or via the built in automatic downloader? You need to directly download it cause there are issues with the automatic one. It sounds like your download is corrupted. Like the categories file is either missing, or goobered up some how. I recommend trying a fresh download.
  24. On my machine, I have 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0. I've yet to encounter any problems.
  25. Oh Gee, now you're gonna make me blush and have a big head! I'm always glad to help in any way that I can.
