  1. Can you try Version 2.71 attached to the first post. Hopefully that will fix the problem of it not working when you don't have the Speech components installed.
  2. You definately should have Mame.ini in E:\Mame not in E:\Mame\Ini. I don't even look in any folder other than Mame's root folder for Mame.ini, so leave it in root that's were it should be. Secondly, this new PC, it is a stripped down version of XP or something? It looks like it can't find the Speech components. You need to install sapi51.msi and sapi51xp.msi. Hopefully that should get it running.
  3. If you delete PluginLCD.ini you will have to run the plugin configuration so it will create it again. Check PluginLCD.ini after that Are your Mame paths correct? (it gets them from GameEx.ini the first time so if they're wrong there, they will be wrong in the plugin) Eg. [Mame] Exe=C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit\vmame64.exe Cfg=C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit\Cfg Ctrlr=C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit\Ctrlr Ini=C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit\Ini Version=0.124a When you run GameEx again, if it's still not working, exit out and check the PluginLCD.log for any errors.
  4. The only artwork options for Mame 0124a are -artpath path to artwork files -artwork_crop crop artwork to game screen size -use_backdrops enable backdrops if artwork is enabled and available -use_overlays enable overlays if artwork is enabled and available -use_bezels enable bezels if artwork is enabled and available So it does look like that -artwork option has been removed. It also looks like -artwork_directory has been removed too. Not sure which version they changed though.
  5. LOL! Great photo! Nice to see that level of dedication! BTW I have my cab controlled wirelessly through Remote Desktop, so I can lay back on my notebook and configure there. It's much easier than having to configure things directly on my cab.
  6. I think I have found a bug when selecting "Use Bezel for vertical Games" in Advanced MAME Settings. When you run a game with that option selected, it will exit back to GameEx. After looking at runitgame.bat I see the following. @ECHO OFF C: CD "C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit" vmame64.exe 1942 -rompath "C:\Emulation\Roms\Mame" -triplebuffer -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo -artwork -artwork_directory artworkgameex What is the -artwork switch? Mame does not recognise it! This is what Mame returns when running runitgame.bat before exiting So I don't know what that -artwork switch is doing there but it prevents Mame from running. And since Bezels are enabled by default, this would probably be confusing alot of new users, so I think it's quite an important bug to fix.
  7. Special characters such as the ampersand, dollar sign, comma, asterisk and period need to be surrounded by square brackets or preceeded by a backslash character if used inside an SQL query. So Tom just needs to write up a little method where names are passed through to add the escape character to the special characters before running the query.
  8. Yes if you've moved your GameEx folder you will probably have to go into the PluginLCD config and set your Mame folders again.
  9. Can you give me more details? What 2screen game does it have this problem with? How do I set the game up to run in 2screen mode? I've never done it but I do have two screens on my dev machine so I should be able to fix that.
  10. The plugin is for exiting GameEx not exiting a game. Advanced Configs can be used to exit games using joystick button combo's.
  11. I run XP 64 an I'm very happy with it. If you run Mame64 on a 64 bit OS you will see a substancial speed improvment. Mame is being optimized for Dual Core processors so it actually does make a big difference. The Mame developers themselves say people with 32 bit machines are already being left behind. There is a thread on BYOAC here where people have posted benchmark results running 64-bit Mame. I don't actually run emulators on my 64-bit machine (it's only for software dev at the moment) but I'm sure as more stuff moves to 64 bit and programmers get better at optimizing code for multi-core processors you will see great benefits.
  12. Have you tried unplugging all your joysticks then just plugging in the 360's. I'd probably reboot too just to be sure then try again. Also check that the 360's don't have a yellow /!\ icon next to them in Device Manager.
  13. Added to FAQ
  14. Yeah I'm saying use WinUAE 1.4.5 with the loader.
  15. Try using WinUAE version 1.4.5.
  16. shaunopp: Are you running 64-bit Vista? The reason I ask is because you will get that error if Oggalz has setcontrols.exe MSIL compiled using "Any CPU". The error message is "Unable to load DLL 'libusb' : The specified module could not be found." If you have your application compiled using "Any CPU" that means on a 64-bit machine it will be executing in 64-bit. When it goes to load the "libusb" library which is probably only 32-bit it will give the error "Unable to load DLL". Solution: Compile setcontrols.exe for "x86" instead of "Any CPU" If your running 32-bit Vista another possible reason for that error is compiling setcontrols.exe using a different version of "libusb" than the one your trying to run it with. Or it could simply be that the libusb.dll file is not located in the same folder as setcontrols.exe.

    SWOS + WinUAE

You will have to use WinUAE Loader if you want that. It has a "single button" disk swapper which rotates the floppies in df0. It's worth setting up WinUAE Loader as it has quite a few benefits for cab uses. I would download the full WHDLoad set from KillerGorrilla's website which includes SWOS. WHDLoad will mean loading times are faster too plus you will have a whole set of Amiga games to play.
  18. If you don't get any replies here just to let you know the BYOAC forums have a dedicated section for monitors that might help you.
  19. What do you mean by "connecting my laptop to my cabinet" do you mean by Remote Desktop?
  20. One of the most common errors I see is the DirectX error when using certain themes. What is that anyway? I noticed the error log outputs some suggestions when it happens, maybe they should be in the FAQ too?
  21. I think GameExtender would be better if it showed graphics in fullscreen and rotated through them all. It would be cool to have it include the avi snaps too. So GameExtender could be more of an attract mode display rather than just static images.
  22. Yes it looks suspiciously like you've applied the hiscore patches in the wrong order or something
  23. CPWizard v1.71 Released - Fixed major bug from last release. - Added Exit To Menu option in Data options. - Improved preview window. - Preview window remembers last game. - Added buttons to change order of Layout Maps.
  24. If it was for personal use then why would you need to check for dotnet and directx? Surely you would have those preloaded on your machines.
