  1. This is a known issue with this emulator to begin with. You'll notice all kinds of posts in their forums about the sound. Best suggestion I can make is that you don't run it windowed. When running this emulator windowed and the screen size is bigger than the smallest size, cracking and popping is heard. So best solution is to run as small as you can or even better, run in fullscreen. Command line: CCS.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" -autorun In CCS64 change your video settings. Press Alt+V and change the Screen Mode to your desired resolution.
  2. That's correct. The folder name must be the exact same name of the rom without the file extension of course.
  3. And you're sure that particular game doesn't require you to press Select to move down the menu in the game?
  4. A config doesn't offer much as it's a simple command line. Nestopia.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" What kind of issues you having with it?
  5. There isn't an advanced config for MAME. Just press following in MAME: Press {TAB} Select Input (general) Select User Interface And change buttons to exit in UI Cancel
  6. clair! Can you list a game that does this (the "NES header illegal" popup message) so I can look into it? Also the naming convention if you have a valid romset (i.e. No-Intro, Goodtools, TOSEC, etc.)
  7. I'm sure it can but that does us no good unless we have someone to do it for us cuz I know I sure can't do it. But to go with nestopia then yes the black bar is easiest. With virtuanes then a wrapper would be required to give flawless results in GameEx. NES is over emulated IMO anyways. There's so many emulators out there. I'm sure there's plenty that will give us the results clair is after other than mednafen.
  8. Ahhh we take it back! No longer 3000. He's now 3001.
  9. I don't believe so. A menu bar works differently than an icon or image. The menu bar is imbeded in the coding so won't work as far as I know.
  10. It still shows no matter what exit method it uses as i mentioned before. Whether it be Alt+F4 or Alt+X. So a simple remapping of keys won't work in this situation to hide the menu bar.
  11. Nestopia shows the menu bar upon exit no matter what exit method it uses. So a wrapper in my experience won't work to hide the menu bar unless I maybe hide the window or set a tranparency to it. One solution was brought up before but can't remember who to give credit to. The solution was to change the menu bar color to black. Note that doing this will still show a black strip for a brief moment upon exit. Options >>> Preferences... >>> Fullscreen Menu Color >>> Click Edit.. >>> Change to black.
  12. I also use nestopia. Nestopia IMO is a better emulator. To hide the OS like clair is wanting then I would use mednafen or use nestopia and use the trick below. To each his/her own though. But yeah! A wrapper for virtuanes would be a simple fix for this.
  13. If so then that's probably why it's not working. I set it up to look for the emulator so that it can be used. If you're launching before it errors out cuz the emulator isn't running yet. Should be launching in the Also Launch section as mentioned above.
  14. Congrats Bkenobi!
  15. Are you launching the exit script in the launch before section in GameEx's settings?
  16. Post your emulator config so I can have a look at the specifics of the executable. It having a different name is all I could see why it would error out.
  17. What is the error message? This script shouldn't cause any errors as all it's doing is remaping the escape key to close to process. If not able to get into the game then the problem must lie within the settings of the emulator. Please give more details.
  18. Here ya go! Sorry took so long. Haven't been home this weekend. Point to script from the Also Launch section of GameEx's settings. VirtuaNES_Exit.zip
  19. No problem! Will get you going with a script later this evening when I get home. Unless one of our scripters is available to help ya out before then.
  20. Can help you with either. So you make the choice and we'll get you going. That's correct! Nestopia does the same thing.
  21. Well to totally hide the OS and to give the results you're after, I would recommend Mednafen. I'm sure there's others that show no trace of the OS as well but this one works well. Also to remap your {ESC} would also be an easy fix and something we can help you with if interested.
  22. Problem with this emulator is that {ESC} is mapped to show/hide the menu bar. Which is why it's seen briefly upon exit. Only way to handle this is with a script. So yes you will always see that bar on top unless you create a script to map {ESC} to CTRL+X. Or could always use another emulator for NES that doesn't have that issue.
  23. When loading or exiting? When do you see it? Shouldn't see it at all if you enter full screen on load and also exit it out using CTRL+X or ALT+F4. If using {ESC} to exit it will be seen briefly.
  24. A wrapper is not really needed. From what I remember, GreatFlash made a wrapper to give zip support which is now incorporated into GameEx. I could be wrong though! It's been awhile.
  25. Try the following command line: x64.exe -fullscreen -cartcrt "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"
