  1. Pinballx has native support for gamepad/joystick buttons as long as the hardware is compatible with windows. Everything else to support the emulators can be worked around. X360ce for gamepad to x-box 360 support Antimicro is a freeware, open source gamepad to key emulator Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. You can setup the main menu by system such that selecting a menu item will take you to a sub-wheel with tables that belong to that system. This documentation is old, but with regard to how to set up custom groups it still applies Check out section 5.11
  3. It checks and notifies you on the bottom scroll on start up if a newer version is available. That's all.

  5. 1. Try running VPX using exclusive full screen setting. 2. Try running PinballX display as windowed, full screen 3. Do you run VPX using DOF? 4. Have you tried to see what happens if you played a non-VPM table (like an EM recreation)? 5. What NVidia settings do you use? 6. What AA settings do you use in VPX? In other words, even though you have a fancy new card, you still may not be able to get away with Brute force 4X AA on some of the larger tables and you will need to walk your AA settings back a bit.
  6. Use joy to key mapper software. Have AHK pickup the key instead of the button to exit Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. I have a v1 VirtuaPin plunger kit. VirtuaPin controllers are based on gamepad/joystick button emulation. For FX2, I have to use a separate program to map the exit buttons to a key. I use "e". Any joy2key mapper software should do the job. I use open source freeware program, Antimicro. And then I setup a hotkey using AutoHotkey to taskkill FX2 when the Exit button is pressed. It's not friendly but it does the job.
  8. No, there is no parental control feature. Maybe you can try to create a parallel PinballX installation that is the same as your primary one except that it has some tables disabled. Setup a shortcut link for your kids to launch the "safe" version.
  9. I believe this still applies. We came up with it for Zen's floating DMD solution prior to them introducing formal cab support. Give it a try. Credit also to time299 Pinball FX2 DMD Resolutions.xls
  10. No, I meant System Restore. Not a reset or reinstall of Windows. It would have been real good if you had made a System Restore image. I'm not going to be much help. I don't run a real DMD. Don't know much about how to get one working with PinballX. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. System Restore?
  12. Correct Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Sorry, I don't have a real DMD. I'm capturing for a virtual DMD to display on a monitor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I always forget to mention it. Anything dealing with the pinball setup, all exe should be set to run as administrator. You may wind up having to go with a longer load delay with the really huge tables. I just set to 60 seconds as a default. I think it would probably be better to setup OBS profiles running off of --portable to ensure that settings are stored in the correct location. But it's good if something has changed so that OBS now reads the config files from either location. You might check your path to futuredmd.exe, but, hey, if it's working now. Glad you got it figured out.
  15. I pulled this chunk of code directly from FPLaunch. Strange that it isn't closing it. What process is still open? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I'm using the latest version and it works for me. Assuming you are using default keyboard settings, Enter will display the main menu and there will be an item for Video Games. If you select it, you will get the sub-wheel that has your MAME games.
  17. In my setup I have a MAME custom system defined and enabled. I have the attached two database files in my PinballX/Databases/MAME folder. MAME.xml has no games listed so no MAME games are presented on the main wheel. The main menu has an item called Video Games. When I selected it all of the MAME games enabled in Video Games.xml are displayed in a sub-wheel. MAME.xml Video Games.xml
  18. I've only tested with the draganddrop feature. Have you tried launching that way?
  19. It's probably something else running in the background stealing resources. My cab is online, so the client is always active on my system. Starts on Windows boot. It is not the cause of performance issues. In fact, if you are running the Steam version then you have to run the the Steam client. I don't believe that PinballX is a resource hog, but if you say differently then you can always go the route of shutting down PinballX programmatically and restarting it on FX2 exit. Similar to what is going on in this TPA script.
  20. Might try assigning an exception for the Steam folder and for PinballX with Windows Defender.
  21. Assign quit and exitemulator to different keys Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Post your PinballX.ini please Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. "Escape" or "Esc" https://autohotkey.com/docs/commands/Send.htm Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. The hotkey that runs the kill subroutine is defined as "e". You will want to change it to whatever you've assigned to your exit button.
