  1. I'd just forego the game info - I do. Also, was there an easy way you made that list? And what configuration parametre did you use to set that path?
  2. I need to get this going; Perhaps Daphne and VP will get to where I can play them. (Although VP is a step closer, somehow: I get a 'preparing...' tab in the windows task bar, but the video is blank. This makes me think it could be a resolution conflict, but as far as I can tell, it shouldn't be.)
  3. I keep that stuff in the Mame directory. I always know where it is, and it automatically is read. Mamestory.dat? Never heard of it. Categories: I'm actually kind of surprised these are here. I don't use 'em in Mame32. However, this gives me pause for thought on how to mod them. Hmm.....
  4. ....why don't you change the mapping, then.
  5. A cheater's method around this would be to paste the images, name properly, in an already-created theme, yes?
  6. I'm waiting for systems to be smart enough to know how to do these things when we tell them 'I want this.'
  7. Brian: yeah, I was wondering if (hoping) the wheel would scroll game lists. And instead of adding that, Tom went the other way. Strange.
  8. Why disable the mouse wheel?
  9. The pig'll probly lick your lips clean.
  10. Yeah, I experience this: when I use the jukebox, the ambient track continues to play. And it mutes when I pause the jukebox. I don't know whether it does during videos because though they're listed and they'll play in the 'snap' area, they won't load in WMP. This is with 8.19. Also, is there somewhere one has to select for snap as background?
  11. I noticed in Tom's vids that he has bacground video running on his. I'm guessing there's a way to do a lot of things wanted, skin-wise, but you have to get your hands dirty.
  12. .99.7 is what I have.
  13. I never see anything while waiting for games to launch so I'm thinking it's in the config.
  14. At the Daphne forum, if not the main site, they say which discs (or disc, I'm not sure) Daphne 1.0 supports. However, .99 did have DL2 (and it works fine), as well as Cliff Hanger. (I don't know why they took it out - says 'for lack of complete version' or some shit like that - but it looks good to me. I also have Firefox and Freedom Fighter - the latter of which I don't think I've even ever seen - and have no idea why those aren't in Daphne at all, as they came with the .99 download. And I'm waiting for Cube Quest.
  15. On one UBB-type forum it would do that, but it would show the body of each post - inefficient - though I can't get that to image at Mameworld. There's something in the way UBB is coded that it's a general clusterfuck. Fortunately, this forum type is one that shows threads as headings along with links to new posts as 'last post' rather than a 'new' tag that will go away when you view it. In the latter, if you want to go back for any reason, you have to enter the most recent page of the thread and scroll - lame. The only thing that would be better would be to change our general sense of orientation in these things and have all the main links, etc, at the bottom, and have things proceed from top to bottom in the vein of how we read...or we could go the other way and read up like the Asians. Basically, keep it one direction through-out levels.
  16. I happened upon an ebay auction for a new 250 gig Seagate that topped out at $42. Not knowing anything about this stuff, I didn't bid. Alas. However, I'm waiting for newer technologies, like perhaps a shaking drive I saw an article about at physicsweb.org that would out-perform disc drives by at least five times, I think. But I'm really waiting for organic memory and storage devices.
  17. Not sure what you mean here. I thought this was a default of forums, whereas blogs are defaulted the other way. What I hate is forum structures like Mameworld, for example, where you can post anywhere within a thread. MESSY. I prefer it to be a tree enforced by chronological order.
  18. In this case, it's not the roms that are an issue (as you get them with the standard download from Daphne-emu), but the video files in an authorized format: that is, you also get the video files from in the Daphne-emu download - but you need a Digital Leisure disc to authorize them. Any of the other games, including Cobra Command, are available in the download.
  19. Hahaha...you were really just making it the more tantalizing, eh?
  20. If you have 'use arcadevga' set to 'yes', try it without. Also, I'm assuming you installed the Ultimarc drivers?
  21. Yeah, I don't know why it's there. I got messy results when I had it selected. They're set in Mame (or any other odd emulator that may use lower resolutions) and that's all that matters.
  22. Ahhh. I only keep a few hundred sets, and tend to stay with American ones, particularly those I'm familiar with. As well, some hacks are okay, and I haven't explored the wealth of them, but I tend toward the standard sets.
  23. I was misleading in my last post. I meant that I had it set to 'enable'. Anyways - ah, okay it is '...loading screen'. I went and looked for it and missed it. heheh.
  24. No, if that's the right feature, kenobi was right the first time. It's under 'enable/disable features - disable please wait animation'. I have it selected 'yes', but I never see it.
  25. These kinds of things are best asked over at BYOAC. If anyone knows, they do. Might even be in the wiki.
