  1. Your TV can display 1024x768? That's pretty impressive since non-HD sets only do ~640x480 and HD CRT sets only go up to 10??x720 typically. If you already have an HD CRT TV, I would definitely stick with that as you aren't going to do any better unless you go with a PC monitor (thus losing your satellite input and TV tuner capability).
  2. Have you checked out night's themes page? There are a bunch of themes there that already do what you are asking about. Also, it is possible to take a MAMEwah theme and import it to GameEx using the Theme Editor. If you find something you like for MAMEwah, you should be able to use it for GameEx pretty easily.
  3. I use the same controller on my main cab and I can confirm that XPadder works GREAT with the GP-WizRX. I use it for everything.
  4. Have you considered a higher resolution CRT? It may be hard to find, but you could get a larger VGA monitor to put in your cabinet. I put a nice 19" Trinitron in place of a 19" arcade monitor in my Championship Sprint cabinet and it looks pretty nice! I would have liked to have gone larger, but there would have been a problem with mounting it (using the stock hardware anyway). The one I used was a flat screen, so I didn't need a bezel. If you don't want to go with a CRT at all, you may find it tough locating a 27" LCD. Most screens that big will be wide screen (16:9). I think the biggest LCD I've seen that's not wide screen is a 24" model, but I think that was lower resolution and probably not sold in a while.
  5. hehe, now he wants it to work correctly. Wow, will the demands never stop.
  6. Wow, thanks!
  7. Hey Circo, did you realize that you changed the directory structure without mentioning it in the log for the tracker? The directories used to be 'SQ' and 'HiQ' but now they are 'M.A.M.E. SQ' and 'M.A.M.E. HiQ'. I didn't realize so when I set it to go yesterday, it downloaded 6GB+ that wasn't needed. Anyway, just a thought you might want to point out so others don't pull a stupid like I did. I see that it's mentioned in the comments of the tracker now, but thought you should probably put it in bold in the main log.
  8. I was just thinking about my emulator setups and all the configs that Nologic et. al. came up with. I know there are a bunch of them out there for basically every system, but I was wondering if those people who enjoy playing with each one can maybe come up with a list of the best emu for each system. I was thinking this would be good for noobs and those who aren't afforded the time to play with each one until they know each one's quirks to determine the best one. I understand that things change from version to version, but the list would only need to be updated if something drastic happened. Otherwise, a couple could be listed. Maybe a quick description of what is better about each would be good, I don't know. Anyway, if a list already exists, perhaps it should be stickied or put on the main GameEx.net page somewhere. Just a thought...
  9. I thought that's why we had nologic around? If everyone starts doing everyone elses job, we're going to have chaos...
  10. Hello McFly. That's what I said! Well, except I wrote it out and with less detail...
  11. That probably means that the plug is not svideo compliant. The data is certainly on the data pins, but they are not on the correct 4 in the correct position. I suspect, as I said earlier, that the splitter is required to make the connection. There is a web site out there that I've used in the past that describes the connectors and the data that's on each one, but I don't know if it details the ATI connector. I'm sure someone does, but I don't have a reference. You could either find that data and build your own cable or buy the splitter online.
  12. For AHK, it would be very similar: Run, G:\Gaming\Xpadder\Xpadder.exe "Doom 3 360 Controller.xpadderprofile" Run, G:\Gaming\PC Games\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe EDIT: You may need quotes around the second line since there's a space in it, but I think it will run as is.
  13. crazy climber used 2 joysticks. You will have a tough time making it work with a single stick. CP image
  14. You could also put your program you found in the launch on start and using tskill.exe or pskill.exe with run on exit to stop it.
  15. I think in order to make it come up in MAME, you have to use a custom compiled version. I have played with the CP Wizard, but I've never put enough time in to get it working 100% on my cab, so it's scaled wrong (I configured it on my main PC and transfered it to my cab which runs a TV). Anyway, I have it so that if I press the pause button in MAME the CP Wizard will come up, but I'm using a custom compiled MAME 0.122.
  16. Edit one of the ini files in the "C:\Program Files\GameEx\CONFIG\EMULATORS" directory. Down at the bottom you will find the section HK listed. Then, edit your emulator config in the Setup Wizard and tell it to use that ini you just edited.
  17. Didn't HK change the keys used to bring up the CPWizard (maybe it was in MAME)? It used to be 'P' and now it's 'I'? I could be smoking crack though...
  18. Just a thought. You said you upgraded MAME, so did you update your roms as well? Perhaps MAME is saying it's invalid and you have validate roms turned on? I thought that anything in the don't exclude list would show up no matter what, so I'm not sure unless you don't have the complete rom. No, you don't need the extension in the list.
  19. I don't think it will work unless the key is broken off because the keys are different shapes for 4 and 7 pin dins. Even if you were to break off the key, I don't know that the pins are in the correct position for SVideo, so I wouldn't just modify a cable unless you were okay with throwing it out. I would check around and see if you can pick up the splitter cable online. Then again, maybe someone here has an extra one that they have no use for and would be willing to part with it. Just a thought...
  20. I'm not sure I understand the request. There are 3 ways you can navigate lists (menu, game, media, whatever). 1) up/down - press the up/down key and GameEx will move the selection the the next/previous item in the list. 2) page up/down - hold the alpha/paging button and press up/down to move the list up/down one page in the list. 3) alpha up/down - hold the alpha/paging button and press right/left to move the list up/down one letter in the list. You can also use the wheel on your mouse to move up/down the list, but there is no control on speed and I'm not sure if it works with the alpha/paging button since I've never tried it. Up/Down/Left/Right can be either keyboard or joystick controls and you can reassign these inputs to whatever you want in the setup wizard by using custom controls. Hopefully that answered your question...
  21. Not that it means anything about your card, but my Asus Radeon 9250 has a 7 pin din (svideo) on the back. It requires an ATI break out cable to work for TV (RCA and Svideo outs).

    Avisnaps ?

The update doesn't cost anything, does it? EDIT: Oh, I see what you are talking about. The FTP download is available if you purchase a burned DVD from Circo. But, if you look, there is a link to the torrent there. I will not list it here because the tracker also provides roms which is against the rules. Just look on Circo's site and you will see the link to the torrent (direct link that does not require you to subscribe to the tracker).

    Avisnaps ?

What? You want AVI snaps for something, but it's not clear what you are looking for. MAME? Console (SNES, NES, Genesis, Coleco, etc.)? Something else?
  24. Depending on the version of P64.
  25. The ArcadeVGA card is based on the ATI 9600 (as I recall), so my uneducated guess would be that whatever the ATI card uses, so does the ArcadeVGA.
