    Game Ex crashing.

@GMT25 I tried testing your GameEx.ini file on my setup (with minimal changes anyway) and I was able to get games running. I notice that your log.txt does not show an attempt to play a game. It looks like it captured the compiling of the list instead. Would you please run a rom through GameEx (one you know for certain works fine outside GameEx), exit GameEx cleanly, and then repost your log.txt and gameex.ini files again. Thanks. ...and you can place both files in the same post.
  2. Oh my. I do believe that is a Pentium 3. I'm not sure the last time I bumped into one of those.
  3. I played with it a bit yesterday. It looks like there are two new wheel views for everywhere except the start page. They only appear on the right side and I did not see any configuration in the Setup Wizard or the Theme Editor for changing where the wheel is (unless you want to try rotating the screen). I was also thinking about the possibilities of how the wheel view might look like it it was along the bottom with the videos, description, etc above...but I doubt I will dig into theming again. Maybe Tom would be willing to put an option for the wheel on the left at least.

@GMT25 Recheck your ROM Path/s in the MAME Settings. Your GameEX.ini currently shows it set to S:\MAME ROMs-1, which seams like an odd name for a directory. If it truly is the name of the directory, then the path should be set to S:\\MAME ROMs-1 (note the additional '\')
  5. Cool, I'm glad you got what you needed to get things going. Would you edit the very first post in the threat and place [RESOLVED] at the start of the title. Thanks.
  6. @imek You originally you started this thread to remove games from the list. Now that you have Mame set up and have a little better understanding, did you get what you needed there as well?
  7. That's great. Would do me a favor and edit your very first post in this thread and put [RESOLVED] at the start of the title and save it. Thank you.
  8. When you have the Model2 correctly set up and active, GameEx will simply use it instead of Mame for games that require it.
  9. For GameEx, there is an option in the Advance Mame Settings called Bypass Disclaimer/Warning. If you set it to Yes, it should take care of that for Mame....or you can put -skip_gameinfo in the MAME Options. You should only need one or the other. For the batch file, add -skip_gameinfo after one of the other flags to do the same there.
  10. Um, I think it's a little crazy... I like some of the ideas you put in your theme. With the proper videos/logos/title screens, I think it looks pretty darn nice.
  11. I only learned about cemu after you posted. Don't forget that google and the internet are your friend too. I found my info here in the v1.5.6 change log and here in reddit after only a few minutes of searching. -f appears to be the flag for fullscreen, but you may need to have the latest version if you do not currently.
  12. Oh man, we are getting more fancy every day!!! Awesome addition Tom! I will have to fool around with this one.
  13. Yeah, that C:\Emulators\MAME 0.164 (64bit)\MAME 0.164 Extracted\roms\pacman.zip would have been a mistake. Good catch though. Glad you got it working. At this point, you have a lot of different ways you can go. You have a working Mame in GameEx that you can always go back to, so you can start tinkering with options a little more: Let's get back to primrage, your favorite game... If it is in your games list, give it a run. However, don't be surprised if it does not run. It did not run for me with Mame64.exe either...but it did run for me with mewui64-mame.exe (for whatever reason). If you can't make it work, I suggest getting the 0.164 version of mewui64-mame.exe, set it up in it's own folder, modify that MameTest.bat file I gave you earlier and see if it will run. If it does, you can try using that in GameEx instead of the regular Mame64.exe. A thing to keep in mind is that when a new Mame build comes out, besides just the 32bit and 64bit versions that are generally available, there are a number of groups that try to put their own spin in it. This is why we have things like Mewui64-mame, MameUI, etc. Also, some Mame-savy people will compile their own Mame with options they like and then put it out in the world for others to use...I think that most user-compiled versions are probably ok, but sometimes some don't work so well. This means that unless you get Mame from a source you know is solid, you may want to try different downloads until you get one that works well for you. For instance, even though there may be several places that have downloads that say Mame640.164, they may not be the same and you may not be able to tell the difference. I tend to get my basic simple Mame from Sourceforge. I don't recall where I got Mewui64-mame from, but I do recall trying several mames before settling on that one. You can also try tweaking some of the Mame options such as using the game filters, not allowing clones, etc. Keep in mind that if you change an option related to Mame game listing, you will have to have GameEx recompile the list before seeing the change. You might also consider making a copy of your GameEx.ini file just in case you make a lot of changes and need to backtrack.
  14. So I made my little theme. Would it be possible to make it available in the Download Theme section of the Setup Wizard? I checked the FTP and don't see a Theme area there.
  15. It should be: pcsx2.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" ...and you can add flags at the end like these for no visible GUI and Fullscreen on launch: pcsx2.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" --nogui --fullscreen As for the .dll error, this is not related to GameEx. Did you try googling the error message or looking on the pcsx2 forum? It took me all of two minutes to find a potential solution.
  16. I've not heard of this emulator, but I did a bit of searching. Evidentally, command line support was only added in the last few months but there isn't much for documentation at the moment. Here is a stab in the dark based on what I found: cemu.exe -g "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" I hope it helps.
  17. Hey Polewog, GameEx places an option in the Emulated Games section called Laserdisc Games It is at the bottom of the list. However, on the off-chance you are using custom menus via the GameEx MenuEditor, then you will need to create a menu entry specifically for Daphne. Hope it helps.
  18. @imek Draco is quite correct. One subject per thread is much easier on the support crew. It is also easier for other forum members who may be reading them in order to fix some of their own similar issues. We have obviously moved the Mame conversation to the other thread, so let's close this one out. @Draco1962 If youa re able, would you mind moving imeks question regarding PS2 to the GameEx General forum? EDIT: Nevermind about moving the post. imek has already created a new threas. Thanks!
  19. I set up imeks GameEx.ini file on my Windows7 rig. The only things I changed was to disable HIDE DESKTOP and set WINDOW/FULLSCREEN to Windowed in the Display Settings and set the proper Mame path, Mame Executable, and Rom path in the Mame Settings. ...and I was able to launch pacman from GameEx without a problem. I tested with Mame64 0.161 which I feel is close enough to 0.164. There was only one thing I saw that may help here is that when I launched pacman via GameEx on my two monitor setup, my primary monitor displayed pacman and my secondary monitor went black. I normally run Mame and GameEx in windows since I generally do troubleshooting, configuration, updates etc on it so I did not consider it before. Might the black screen have something to do with the number of displays you are running or some video related addon (for instance, I occasionally have interesting video issues with some programs because of my capture card)? You might try changing RUN ON SECONDARY MONITOR in the Display settings and see what happens. Other than that, I am beginning to run out of ideas myself on why the integrated Mame functionality isn't running smoothly.
  20. @RIP-Felix: I use -window in my options and it works for me. The reason I suggested it was so that if any messages popped up as GameEx or Mame was running, it would be more likely that he would see them. @imek: I am having a difficult time reading your GameEx.ini. The forum sometimes does not handle quotes as well as I would like. Would you mind providing it as an attachment? When you make a post, there is a spot just above the SUBMIT REPLY button that you can drag a file to. I am hoping that if I load it up on my machine, I may be able to replicate the problem.
  21. From what I can tell, your Mame setup in the Mame Settings does look good. Would you turn off Hide Desktop in the Display Settings and try pacman again using rergular Mame (ie not the emulator setup)? Perhaps it will show something as to why it is not coming up.
  22. inmek, Would you please post your gamex.ini and log.txt file from that test?
  23. That's FANTASTIC!!!!! Now you can try setting up Mame in GameEX. I strongly suggest using the Integrated Mame functionality instead of the Emulator Setup. Set up the following in the Setup Wizard: If you have not placed all of your 0.164 roms in the C:\Emulators\MAME 0.164 (64bit)\MAME 0.164 Extracted\ROMS folder, move them there now. MAME Settings Mame Path: C:\Emulators\MAME 0.164 (64bit)\MAME 0.164 Extracted Mame EXE: mame64.exe Rom Path/s: C:\Emulators\MAME 0.164 (64bit)\MAME 0.164 Extracted\ROMS Leave the rest blank for now. Advance MAME Settings MAME Options: -window -joy -skip_gameinfo Use Start/Wait: No Bypass Declaimer/Warnings: Yes Menu Under Games: Put MAME on Start Page Only Working Games: Yes Allow Imperfect Games: Yes Verify Roms: No Only Existing Roms: Yes Use Game Filter: No Leave the rest of the options as they are now...you can always turn options on and off after you have Mame running in GameEx. Client/Server MAME: Do you want to use Clent/Server MAME: No AdvanceMAME: Do you want to use AdvanceMAME: No Enable/Disable Features: Hide Update List: No There are a lof of settings in the MAME configuration. The settings I suggested should list every working or imperfectly working rom. Once you have Mame working in GameEX, then you can look over and try the different options. At least you will have a working base to start from. Then start GameEx and go into the Mame section. It should prompt you to Update your mame list. Hit ENTER to start it. If it does not prompt you, arrow down to UPDATE LIST, ENTER, and ENTER. Let it run until it's done. Note that if you have a lot of roms, it can take 10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes (maybe longer). Once GameEX is done compiling the list, try running a few roms using GameEx. Choose pacman, then 1941, then a few other older roms. You can try Primal Rage, but I am pretty sure it will not work yet. We will get to that.
