I agree. You cannot change the high score background to display the game snap or video of that particular game. That would be a feature and enhancement request indeed. You can however (like I've stated above) change the general image GameEx uses when you choose the high score menu option.

I waited a little longer now Don't want to be too early again Happy birthday KRC !

Go to this folder: Themefolder > Media > Stats.png This file is the picture GameEx uses as background when choosing the high score menu option. You can change this to whatever you like That would be amazing Maybe some of our GameEx Guru's can help you out on this. This would be a very cool option ! Helpman, you seem to be interested in "high scores" . You're more than welcome to join our GameEx Hi-Score Competition and play classic games like Donkey Kong, Galaga and many more. The more the merrier > link GC

Quoting Han: this poll is created to add 5 new games to our Hi-Score Competition. Your hi-score position on each game will earn you points for our Leaderboard. A Hi-Score Game of the Month has the same rules and points scoring system as any hi-score game. However, after each month the Game of the Month results will be published in our Game of the Month Winners thread and the winner will also be rewarded with a 'champion banner' to add to their signature (free of will of course ) After each month the previous "Game of the Month" will become a regular hi-score game and can be played constantly. Hope this clears things up. GC

Hi everybody, we would like to welcome you to our new GameEx Hi-Score Competition ! We are very happy the Admins / Mods have given us a dedicated Hi-Score subforum This gave us the possibility to create an even more interesting competition Do you love to play Arcade / Mame games like Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede and Mario Bros.? You're more than welcome to join our competition ! # New Hi-Score games Because we would like to add games to our hi-score competition - which YOU love to play - we kindly ask you to cast your vote in our Polls. Game of the Month Poll Each month we have a Game of the Month Poll. The most voted game will become "Game of the Month" and will be added to our hi-score competition. You can still cast your vote for "Game of the Month - June" > link Extra Games Poll We also create additional polls to add new games to our competition. In this poll everyone can choose their 5 favorite games and the top 5 voted games will be added to our hi-score competition. Please follow this link to cast your vote. # Hi-Score Leaderboard Your hi-score position on each game will earn you points for our newly created Leaderboard. You can now choose to not only compete for one specific game but you can also try to become our best Hi-Score player A newcomer to our competition has the same chances for a good leaderboard-position as someone already playing our Hi-score competition for a while. Each hi-score game can be played constantly and your hi-score position on each game determines your Leaderboard total. A Hi-Score Game of the Month has the same rules and points scoring system as any hi-score game. However, after each month the results will be published in our Game of the Month Winners thread and the winner will also be rewarded with a 'champion banner' to add to their signature. After each month the previous "Game of the Month" will become a regular hi-score game and can be played constantly. You can check - at any moment - your leaderboard total by simply adding up the individual points of your current hi-score game positions. # Joining our Hi-Score Competition When you want to join our competition and submit a hi-score we kindly ask you to use our default game-settings (see post #1 of each game-thread), only use 1 credit per game and submit a screenshot of your hi-score screen. And of course: be honorable and play with no cheats or hacks Helpfull links / guides: * Rules & settings thread; this includes a short walk-through for submitting you hi-score * Making sure Mame is using the correct game settings * Making a print screen of your Mame Hi-score screen Please leave a reply if you have any questions Happy Hi-Scoring, GC and Han

LEADERBOARD Hi-Score Competition
GimmeClassics replied to GimmeClassics's topic in GameEx Hi-Score Competition
Thank you rtkiii initially we wanted points earned with "Game of the Month" stick with you. But we decided this would not be a good idea. It would be very hard for somebody new to compensate these points when he was too late joining a previous Game of the Month competition. A newcomer should have the same chances for a good leaderboard-position as someone already playing our Hi-score competition for a year or longer! When previous points earned would stick with you this is not the case. Thank you for acknowledging this GC -
LEADERBOARD Hi-Score Competition
GimmeClassics replied to GimmeClassics's topic in GameEx Hi-Score Competition
Updated the Leaderboard: nice work Ehuonder! Also added a little visual element Correction: I made a little mistake on the first edition of our Leaderboard (May 21st) > I gave too much points for each "Game of the Month" hi-score position. Initially we would be awarding players more points for a "Game of the Month" hi-score position but we (me and Han) decided it would be best and most clear for everyone if each hi-score game would earn you the same amount of points. Sorry, won't happen again Example My Leaderboard total of 200 points as of May 22nd is calculated as follows: Donkey Kong 2nd position = 70 points Centipede 3rd position = 50 points Mario Bros 2nd position = 70 points Game of the Month Galaga 6th position = 10 points Happy Hi-Scoring ! GC -
...Look, it's a bird, it's a plain, no it's SUPER-Ehuonder !!! Nice score Ehuonder ! I'll have to throw in some quarters to beat your score ....Challenging......I like it LOL GC > Updated OP with new link and new high score (Leaderboard will be updated in the next hour)

Your hi-score position on each game will earn you points for our Leaderboard Hi-Score game position no.1 = 100 points Hi-Score game position no.2 = 90 points Hi-Score game position no.3 = 80 points Hi-Score game position no.4 = 70 points Hi-Score game position no.5 = 60 points Hi-Score game position no.6 = 50 points Hi-Score game position no.7 = 40 points Hi-Score game position no.8 = 30 points Hi-Score game position no.9 = 20 points Hi-Score game position no.10 = 10 points Each hi-score game can be played constantly. So if you for example drop from 3rd to 4th place on Donkey Kong your leaderboard points for Donkey Kong drops from 80 to 70 points. You can check - at any moment - your leaderboard total by simply adding up the individual points of your current hi-score game positions. Note: you have to beat a player's hi-score to receive the game position hi-score points. In case of a tie the second player who submits the same score gets 10 points less. The same principle is followed when three or more players have submitted the same score. Hi-Score Game of the Month Each month we will also have a Game of the Month competition (May 2013 = Galaga) which will introduce new games to our hi-score competition. More games will be added ... Every month a new game will be introduced through our Game of the Month competition. Apart from this we will periodically add more games to make the hi-score competition even more interesting Please leave a reply if you have any questions about our Leaderboard and points scoring system. Happy Hi-Scoring, ~The HS Team

Great job ClassicGMR! You're getting better . Conveyer belt stages are cool. When you time it well (I prefer to not use the hammer on these stages) you can pretty fast clear these stages and earn a lot of points Teaser: a player's current hi-score position at each hi-score game will count towards the Leaderboard which will be made public in a few days. Your current no.3 position at Donkey Kong will earn you 50 points for the Leaderboard. Thanks for submitting GC > Updated OP with new link and new high score
-
You're pretty good at this game rtkiii ! Teaser: a player's current hi-score position at each hi-score game will count towards the Leaderboard which will be made public in a few days. Your no.1 position at Mario Bros. will earn you 100 points for the Leaderboard. GC (ps: Han, I've sent you another PM about our competition..)
-
Keep up the good work rtkiii ! The Leaderboard will be launched today or tomorrow so keep up the good work and submitting hi-scores ! Thanks! GC Updated OP and link

Sorry to hear all of this Han I hope you can fix most of it and don't lose too much data! Good luck figuring it all out ! ....Doesn't sound too easy GC ps:....I read you might be stuck with no computer for a while > will adjusting / updating the hi-score threads you've started be any problem during this "no-computer-period" ?
-
Sorry Han I just happen to like Mario Bros. (btw...did you happen to read my last PM ?) GC
