What do you think is the best Pinball Emulator to use: Future Pinball, Visual Pinball, PinballX (by Tom) or another one ? From what I understand hi-score support has recently been enabled in PinballX !! This is an option I really like

Future Pinball theme is looking nice ! I should really look into setting up Future Pinball....

@Draco: thank you for sharing your thoughts about managing our hi-score threads. Any feedback is welcome ! But like Han said, it's quite managable right now Apart from that I actually like managing our threads. It's a daily routine checking the GameEx forum and updating the hi-score threads. So updating them on a daily basis is no problem at all. Even when it would start getting really busy. I've always loved playing classic arcade games and competing for the best score among friends. I consider the GameEx community as a very friendly place and I really like to give something back to the community by managing our GameEx Hi-Score competition.....and playing our games of course Adultery has also created a Database Manager which allows me and Han to easily and quickly update the Hi-Score Database (feeding the Game Info Plugin) and RSS feed. I'm glad he has joined our ranks @Dazz: thank you for you kind words ! It will indeed need time to get certains thing ironed out. But I think me and Han have things sorted out at this point @Han: I'm sorry to hear you don't really like your job. Like Draco said: "find the love in whatever little aspects of the job if you can" Very few are lucky fo find a job they truly love. Having a job is just necessary to earn money and live your life. You just have to find those things (beside your job) that you enjoy and gives you satisfaction. I for that matter really like Arcade Classic Games and playing and compete amongst friends, online and offline. I really like the competition we have both setup. Just try to enjoy the little things and don't weigh to heavily on the negative sides of your job More easily said than done perhaps, but so are most things. Don't worry, be happy -
Could you perhaps upload your scroller files for Adultery to look at ? I am also having a few issues with this feed as you may have read in the hi-score rss thread Thanks!

Wow ! Thank you guys A big thank you to everybody who has decided to make me and Han dedicated forum mods. This will really help managing our hi-score threads ! Much appreciated ! I've always been kind of an arcade-hi-score-junkie so it has been a great joy setting up our hi-score competition. To hear this is being appreciated motivates me even more to continue to manage, improve and promote this competition !! Congrats to Han too - being my hi-score partner-in-crime ....next personal goal: being promoted from Group "Members" to Group "Elite Member" .....LOL -
It's looking quite amazing. Like every plugin / programm you write actually Since I'm still exploring the possibilities of GameEx and all its plugins > I understand you can add applications to launch before, after, and with your games using this plugin. Could you or someone else perhaps summarize which applications can be used to launch before, after and with your games ? I'd really like to make use of the available plugins to make using GameEx even more amazing !

Keep practicing and you will surprise yourself It's a hard game to achieve a good score but I think it's a very nice game to play Updated OP, RSS, DB and Leaderboard Wow, I wish I had more chances to play on arcade cabinets when I was growing up. Being born in the eighties (1980) there were unfortunately in Europe (Netherlands to be specific) not a lot around to play on. Consoles like Atari, MSX, Amiga and Gameboy were however big in Europe. I grew up playing Game & Watch handhelds, MSX, Amiga 500, NES 8 bit and Sega Game Gear (and a Cabinet when I was very lucky) and have fond memories playing on all of these - MSX and Amiga 500 especially I do however love playing Arcade Classics and I am planning to build a cabinet in the (near) future. This will however be a real challenge....but with the GameEx community to help me out I'm confident I will succeed ...someday

Hi-Score Competition RSS Feed
GimmeClassics replied to Adultery's topic in GameEx Hi-Score Competition
@rtkiii: the Theme is called Blue Neon LCD (download link). It's created by Draco. It's a very nice theme. Switching between this theme and Adultery's MegaMame 2.2. @Dazzle: I have double checked this and I only have the news feed on the Start page and the HiScore feed on the Mame select screen. Seems to be a GE issue. If I use another feed at the Mame select screen the same thing happens. I've for example added the GameEx news feed to the Mame Select screen instead of the hi-score feed and the same thing happens when I go back and forth from start menu to the Game select menu. Attached is the log and ini where GameEx is showing the GameEx news feed at every menu (see log_blueneon etc...). Also see picture below: TESTING WITH MEGAMAME THEME I've also tested this scroller issue with the MegaMame theme. I'm switching between Draco's Blue Neon theme and your MegaMame theme. Both very nice ! EXAMPLE 1 - Scroller not working OK (see attached files) GameEx is showing (after having switched back and forth to Start menu, Mame select menu and Mame menu) the GameEx news feed in every menu instead of just the GameEx start screen. See picture below: >>> I've again attached my log and config files after having encountered this outcome (log_mm1 etc...) EXAMPLE 2 - Scroller not working OK (see attached files) GameEx is showing (after having switched back and forth to Start menu, Mame select menu and Mame menu) the hi-score rss feed in every menu instead of just the Mame Select menu See picture below: >>> I've again attached my log and config files after having encountered this outcome (log_mm2 etc...) Sometimes I get the correct scroller messages > GameEx news feed at the Start menu, the hi-score rss-feed at the Mame select screen and the message: "MAME is a software application designed to ...etc at the Mame (game)menu. But this is only working for a very short time. When going back and forth through the different GameEx menu's GameEx either shows the hi-score feed at every menu or the GameEx news feed. I hope you guys can help me out... I'd really like to make use of the scroller messages, but it has to work correctly.... Thank you guys so far for helping me GC GameEx_blueneon.ini log_blueneon.txt Theme_blueneon.ini GameEx_mm1.ini log_mm1.txt Theme_mm1.ini GameEx_mm2.ini log_mm2.txt Theme_mm2.ini -

Hi-Score Competition RSS Feed
GimmeClassics replied to Adultery's topic in GameEx Hi-Score Competition
@Dazzle > thank you buddy for your explanation. This helped out a lot... I have succesfully added the hi-score rss feed using GameEx Theme editor. See picture below: There however seems to be some kind of error when GameEx is trying to show the correct scroller message per GameEx menu. EXAMPLE 1 - Scroller working OK GameEx is showing the GameEx news feed at the Start menu, the hi-score rss-feed at the Mame select screen (see picture below) and at the Mame menu the message: "MAME is a software application designed to emulate the hardware of arcade game systems ...etc" >>> I've attached my log and config files after having encountered this outcome (log_1 etc....) EXAMPLE 2 - Scroller not working OK (see attached files) GameEx is showing (after having switched back and forth to Start menu, Mame select menu and Mame menu) the hi-score rss feed in every menu instead of just the Mame Select menu See picture below: >>> I've again attached my log and config files after having encountered this outcome (log_2 etc...) EXAMPLE 3 - Scroller not working OK (see attached files) GameEx is showing (after having switched back and forth to Start menu, Mame select menu and Mame menu) the GameEx news feed in every menu instead of just the GameEx start screen. See picture below: >>> I've again attached my log and config files after having encountered this outcome (log_3 etc...) Usually at the beginning GameEx is showing the right scroller message at every menu but after having switched back and forth the different menu's GameEx seems to lose focus and doesn't show the correct feed anymore... Does anyone maybe have an idea how to fix this. Maybe Dazzle or Adultery ? Thank you in advance GC GameEx_1.ini log_1.txt Theme_1.ini GameEx_2.ini log_2.txt Theme_2.ini GameEx_3.ini log_3.txt Theme_3.ini -
