Try disabling gameex online - run in background. Your on an old version too. Cant fix bugs in old versions.

Just wanted to correct you though - Free is the wrong word buddy. Somebody is paying for it one way or another and the reason people pay for hard disks is because its all a huge pain in the ass to do manually. The chinese pincab thing and the hard disk thing are there because there is too much demand for it that is not being met much like how it was for Napster and digital music. They rip off Popper rather than me because I don't let them wherever I can. Anyway, moving on, life is too short, and lets be honest, we are having fun most oi the time

Just for the record guys, im happy to help people like you but supplying pinballx with cabinets like this is not something I am in on on any kind of scale. The cab is probably from those lovely people in China. Who now have to use a VPN and risk arrest to access this site by they way as I banned China a while bsck. Basically, only way is avoid those characters and just use ASCII (not unicode/utf8). Its because the characters are unicode or utf 8. Nothing to do with the font. Thanks. Tom

I never check out lite builds unless I make them myself, so I can't personally help. Its bordering on breaking the forum rules here too. Sorry.

I had a post .200 MAME running on an intel atom a few months back. Was running the classics (even cave games) at the correct speed other than some sound issues on a few games. I rolled back a 0.020 or so and didn't even have sound problems. For the record, MAME is all about CPU not GPU. Unless Ive been in a cave it still only does a couple of blits (other than bezels, effects and artwork) and the rest is done on cpu. And CHDs are still more effort than worth overall if its about playing good games. (If youve been away for a while check out the 60hz MAME feature in GameEx if appropriate)

Its normal although obviously personally I like to fix issues.

Its all automated. Not something I can reset. Its a bug somewhere. I will investigate it.

I just had a look. Nothing obvious and others are working. Ill investigate further. My only thought is its because off a conflict with GameEx, but would still be a bug. I notice no games are showin for GameEx.

It would be a feature request then guys. Ill take a look and see if it breaks the lite mission statement. If not I see no issue but perhaps I would be better addressing the initial issue with the backglass? I assume you have an additional display hooked up to the laptop that you don't want to use? If its a single display though it is easily resolved. Just tell the backglass to show on a display you don't have. Anything other than 1 in your case. This will disable it. The default is supposed to be 2. So I guess you changed it or I screwed up!

Directdraw needs to be disabled in pminmame. Cabinet mode also needs to be enabled in pinmame. If you are sure that is done and you still have issues please provide the log file and pinballx.ini Thanks. Tom

Yes, but some command line options are not supported in older versions. Turn off bypass disclaimers. Verify roms will also not work.

Looks like you need to get seriously up to date buddy. MAME 0.78 goes back to about when I got the motivation for GameEx!!
