  1. Hi, The idea is you dont ALT-Tab when attract mode starts. Wait for the game to launch and run, then press a key. Focus should then return to GameEx, and all is good Maybe your being a little impatient, or your MAME config is not set to run full screen, so the game is not showing.

  3. Couple more things I noticed. Turning off Triple Buffering fixes audio issues in some MAME games. No idea way. I guess resources again or a long standing MAME bug. Also, I dont want to repeat myself The proper way to test if it is a GameEx issue or not is to select the run last game shortcut from the start menu. This will ensure you run MAME with the SAME cmd settings as GameEx so is impotant. Thanks, Tom.
  4. In the next release ALT-Tabbing or accidently hitting the windows key, wil close hideos and return to the desktop. This will make it seem a little user friendly. Yes it is launching attract mode when it goes black. Games sometimes take a while to load up, so thats why. To turn off attract mode just set the wait time to 0. Thanks, Tom
  5. Yes, it keeps existing settings, and actually runs a little upgrade program. Unless I screw up royally you wont need to redo anything
  6. There is another way to do this, and that is create a batch file to launch gameex and then on exit launch Sage. Something like this. Create c:\runit.bat ----------------------- C: CD "\Program files\GameEx" GameEx.exe C: CD "\Program files\Sage" sage.exe ---------------------- Tell sage to launch this batch file instead of GameEx.exe You might need to play around a little.
  7. See if the next version I upload (few days), fixes this please. Thanks, Tom
  8. Very Strange, I have all GameEx features working on several SP2 machines. You could try upgrading to the latest version of Windows Media Player??

    Error

I still think it is not a gameex issue, from what you have said. Could it be your IDE cable, or possibly a virus or something?
  10. Hi Turning off the Jukebox will turn off Windows Media player, and use the Playlist path you set. When the Jukebox is on, it overrides the playlist setting. Thanks, Tom
  11. Hi, Many thanks for the praise. It's always great to such nice feedback. I have just implemented a new feature, that will allow certain ROMS to always be included in the list. Sort of like an always include ROM. This will be available soon, so just hold out for a while. I am on vacation at the moment, so it might be a few days before its available. Thanks, Tom
  12. The log in the GameEx program Group.
  13. Can you both post your logs, OS info, and hardware info. Thanks, Tom
  14. I do like the sound of it on concept. Are you thinking along the lines of a Item on the Start Page which will select AND launch a random game across MAME and all emulators, or just simply jump to a random point in the current list based on a keypress? I personally think the first option is nice, and if its an item on the start menu, will fit in nicely to the GameEx design, as it can be turned on or off. I think I'll implement that. Good idea!
  15. Do you think this might be something to do with the way you are launching GameEx from Sage perhaps?
  16. Have you tried setting the resolution to a proper ArcadeVGA resolution? In other words 640 x 288? Simply turning on the ArcadeVGA setting should not affect anything big at all or cause a crash when one was not happening at all. It really only comes into affect when you launch a MAME game, it does not affect GameEx in any other way. GameEx ArcadeVGA usage really changes when you make the resolution 640 X 288 rather than the ArcadeVGA settings. Are you sure nothing else has changed?
  17. Hi Joey, no idea at the moment sorry. Perhaps you can be a bit more descriptive about exactly what you mean be screen flicker? Have you tried different resolutions? Tom
  18. Evilpenguin, No idea sorry. Your message seems to hint this is with lots of emulators. Are you sure its not with one (or two) in particular? Jeff, oh well I thought we conquered that one. Did you try the sleep setting as I suggested?
  19. I like this.
  20. Are you sure this is not just by design?? After exiting a game, GameEx 'resumes' the sone that was playing. It also loops the songs in the queue when it reaches the end. So if only one song has been selected it will keep repeating. The Jukebox 'queues' songs. Think of it like a physical jukebox. The first song you select is the first in te queue, any songs selected after that are added to the queue and will play next or later. Check out the keys to skip through the playlist, or use the mouse.
  21. Hi, This can probably be resolved to switching to a recent oficial MAME build. I dont think the custom combo is causing this. http://mame.net This has been reported before with an old version of MAME32. Latest is 0.94 I think. I suspect your running a much older or different version to that. Some web sites are out of date, so although you may think you have a new version you probably don't.

Hi, Sound like this is deffinitly not a GameEx issue. You are experiencing corruption on your hard disk. There are a few reasons why this could be happening, probably hardware, but here is not the place to ask. Sorry.
  23. Sorry Toonces, no time yet.
  24. Hi, yes I like this idea, have thought about it before. Look out for it soon. Thanks, Tom
