  1. Hi please try again with the next version just uploaded. Thanks.
  2. Please do again with the version I just uploaded. Thanks, Tom
  3. Did you deffinitly replace GameEx.exe with the version I uploaded. your log file does not seem to be a debug version. Maybe I did not upload the right version. Please get the version I just uploaded and try again. Thanks.
  4. See my other post about the debug version
  5. Sorry, can you explain in more detail. It seems to me GameEx already does what you are asking. Thanks, Tom
  6. Could you both please replace GameEx.exe with the debug version I uploaded. Then try to do the same thing again, and post the logs. Thanks, Tom
  7. It looks like you might be using a very old version of MAME. Could you cofirm the version your using or get the latest?
  8. Can you try turning off 'Load Playlst on Thread' under Tweaks/Performance, and let me know if that fixes it?
  9. OK, I got it. I've kind of run out of buttons to use, so it would have to be an either or feature. In regard to the other feauture, I think the list already scrolls as fast as it can so probably not really suitable for GameEx. GameLauncher goes into Turbo mode when Paging which is a feautre I liked. Although again GameEx already scrolls pretty fast IMO.
  10. OK, you win! I'll upload some pics at the weekend. It's not as glamarous as some of your guys ones though. I just bought a second hand JAMMA cabinet, ripped out the guts and used a J-PAC. I am good at software but SUCK big time at DIY
  11. Sorry, I can't. I have requested numerous times on the GameEx home page, that Italian and other users help me solve such problems, but I have had no responses. Perhaps you should try asking the questions at some Italian MCE forums? If you find the answers please share so I can help others in the future.
  12. Arcade Mode: The purpose/goal of Arcade Mode, was to support lower resolution for ArcadeVGA specifcially 640 X 288. It does not display the toolbar, makes fonts smaller, and diables the mouse. It sort of like a LO-FI version. As I said it's really designed for ArcadeVGA cards. I use it on my cabinet, with Snaps as backgrounds, at 640 X 288. People have since used ArcadeMode at higher resolutions, something I never expected . I'll look at the remove of the home button if I ever get time, or more people ask for this. Could you spend a bit more time explaining this alpha paging stuff, sorry might be being a bit dim but dont 'get it' at the moment. Thanks for your support David. Tom.
  13. You need to put the GameEx Shortcut not folder??
  14. I am glad you spotted that, and I did not have to tell you I have tried your suggestion already before, and I could not do it. i wont get too technical, but the problem is that emulators/mame override the gamepad use in GameEx. If there was source code for JoyToKey or something similar then I might be able to build something more seemless rather than having to use JoyToKey
  15. Excellent! and I am glad its not my fault
  16. Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > Media Center > Media Center Programs Fi you let me know what it is on Italian MCE, I'll add it to the install for others.
  17. It should be under 'More Programs' on English systems. It sounds like your not English so maybe your not using English MCE. In which case you need to move the GameEx shortcut to where Media Center looks for More Programs on the Start Menu > Programs. Sorry I only know where that is on English systems. Perhaps someone else can help, if you tell them what country version youre using.
  18. In regard to tweaking your system and removing all the crap at startup. I can highly recommend startup control panel. I've been using it for a couple years. The first thing I do with a new install is the same as Dave, and turn off all the animations etc. Then I install Startup Control Panel. It's also the first thing I do when someone asks me to take a look at there PC because its slow etc. http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml StartupCPL.zip
  19. 2. Just to let you know, I took a look, and can't see anywhere that I can improve the loading speed for MAME. What is weird, is Zinc uses the same section of code, and launches straight away. It has to be something to do with MAME, I mean it is a pretty big app these days. MAME32 may already be doing some of the initialisation when loading the GUI, I don't know. The real way to test would be to use the 'Run Last Game' Shortcut in the programs group. You need to compare this time loading, from when GameEx goes to a black screen. 3. We will do this then.
  20. Hi Dave, I'll deffintly consider that. Your right, rarely get any MCE specific requests. Donate whatever you can or feel comfortable with, but don't feel obligated. Your child is much more important than this will ever be. I have not had many donations and they dont, and I dont expect them to pay the bills. They range from $10 to $30. 85% on the lower side of that. Thanks, Tom
  21. Yes, noted It's not so much a lot of work to do initially, but would need an awfull lot of fine tuning, and probably quadruple support requests or more. it would deffinitly be only for the advanced. Also think about it this way, it would make it very easy to make GameEx not look right, or work at all. Skinning in the way suggested and the way MAMEWah does it, is still very much a while off I am afraid, if it ever happens at all. Just being upfront about it. If you used or ever see MCE you may have a better idea of my vision, intentions, and scope of GameEx possibly. Tom
  22. I don't need gameex.ini sorry. I think its your graphics card in your cab. What is it? Do you have the absolute latest drivers for it? Otherwise you might be out of luck I am afraid, it's not a bug in GameEx from what I can tell. Sorry.
  23. Please post Gameex.ini
  24. Thanks for that. 1. Let me know what you find. If all goes well responsiness and overall speed will stay the same with avi, and mpegs whether used as logos, backgrounds or MAME videos, although possibly get a drop in framerate. MNG's will slow everything down. So I would only recommend MAME MNG videos on a fast PC. Some of the MNG's such as 720 dont even play full speed on a 2.4GHZ 2. I think that is something I can work on, and improve. Are you using MAME32 or MAME? MAME will probably be better. Let me know. 3. It's reinitialising DirectX, Thats why its the same as startup speed. I have a few caching ideas though. Would you be willing and able to test them for me. It's even a little slow on a 2.4GHZ sometimes, although harder for me to get a benchmark, because of windows built in caching.
  25. Yes, it was. Expect this from time to time. It's mainly because of a quick bug fix. I try in keep it quiet, so people don't get spammed with GameEx news on various sites. At least more than they do already. Tom.
