{DECOMISSIONED} GameExLaunch 1.0.5 What is it? A simple EXE that is made to be launched instead of GameEx.exe on startup for folks that don't use Instant Sheller and still use their dedicated gaming machine as a PC from time to time. This EXE is for registered users because the registry path of GameEx is needed for it to function properly, and GameEx only writes these values when you register. How do I use it? Click on the EXE or set it to launch on startup. WINDOWS 7 USERS: Couldn't be easier to get it going! Simply make a shortcut to GameExLaunch and drop it in the START>Startup folder and the EXE will launch after Windows boots up. You can also specify command-line arguments like so: GameExLaunch.exe -timer 60 -login -Timer {value} Set the value to whatever you'd like for the timer to be in seconds. -Login Launch GameEx in Login Mode. -Lite Launch GameEx in Lite Mode. -Reset Rest all user-defined settings back to their original state. What does it do? The EXE launches GameEx after a user defined number of seconds or if ENTER is pressed, or aborts if CANCEL or ESCAPE are pressed. You can also quickly launch in GameEx Login mode or GameEx Lite, or many of the setup utilities included in GameEx (ie Setup Wizard, Plugin Manager, Log Viewer, Weather Select, and the Artwork Download Utility) and returns you to normal launching procedure afterwards. There is also a pause button if you have an update or your system is slower than normal to load. Wow that's super easy! What if I find a bug? Report it here! Any questions? Ask away. Feel free to offer suggestions on how I can make it better. NOTES: I whipped this up in about an hour, but it does what it needs to as well as I could ask for. GameEx's install location is picked up from the registry so no settings are currently needed (other than the timer, which defaults to 30 seconds). You may need to add this to your antivirus software's "safe" list (Avast always tried to open mine in sandbox mode, damn them!). I think that's about it. CHANGELOG:3 points

I have made this thread on the basis of sharing my personal artwork that I use for my GameEx setup. For some of my emulator entries I have a specific game series that is present, eg. Final Fantasy collection contains epsxe and all the Final Fantasy entries on the PSX. I have roughly about 15 of these and I am due to make more so I can access my favourites even more easier. These entries of mine do not have any artwork except the artwork I create for them, They are not named accordingly but can easily be modified to do so. I will also be making new logo compilations aswell. Maybe someone else can get some use of them too.1 point

My compliments for this release, Adultery!!! I can imagine ClassicGMR's face when he'll find this thread!!! I completely agree with you, Draco. I don't have a dedicated gaming machine, and use GameEx with my personal pc laptop: waiting for startup program to load, services etc, I have to wait at least 3 minutes before the system is completely responsive. If it isn't a complication for Adultery, I would suggest to give the user the maximum flexibility about the remaining time.1 point

I am showing that you have version 12.78 installed. Would you mind downloading and installing the latest version 12.79 and reporting back any errors (will require a new log.txt. file)? Also, once you download and install the latest version, you need to setup your MAME paths. Per your log file, they are not setup correct as confirmed by the following lines: 22:22:37.9 23/08/2012: MAME Path is: C:\GameEx 22:22:37.9 23/08/2012: MAME EXE file is: Mame Mapping Magician.exe Keep in mind that you can install your emulators via the initial installation of GameEx, but you are going to have to configure each emulator to run outside of GameEx first, then modify MAME other emulator settings and file paths through the Setup Wizard in GameEx. Once you have all of this squared away, we can further assist with additional troubleshooting. As nice as it would be to have GameEx to automagically setup and install everything for us, being that it is a frontend software and not an emulator, you will have to do some more work to get Mame (and other emulators) running properly inside and out.1 point

I wont be continuing with the Red Ultima but i will be continuing the theme in general. I dropped the red simply because some of the console graphics and logos were clashing with the theme and it looked horrible I have now gone for a more neutral color layout and different color according to emulator will be added to each screen overtime, I think it looks a hell of alot better now. Ive also gone for 1920 x 1080. I have uploaded a brief snap of the theme but this theme is done on my laptop where I have no games or media so I cant upload snaps that include rom lists, image + image 2 etc...(at the moment anyway) Also even though the snap that i uploaded is crisp its a hell of a lot crisper within GameEx Theme: KRC Ultima 1920 x 10801 point

'It then displays them on the screen so you know what buttons and movements perform what actions in the game that is currently highlighted in your front-end. Did you ever sit do to play a little and decide to try a new game? Then ask yourself, "What buttons do what?" Well if the game has been documented in the controls.ini file, this won't happen again.
