scutters
The scutters cab, running PinballX and Visual Pinball X; (the main cabinet parts were pre built [i don't have the tools or space for that kind of work], but the guts of the machine is my work) Hardware PC - 16GB RAM, GTX 1080, I5-2500k 3.3Ghz, Win10 Pro Controller/plunger - VirtuaPin™ Digital Plunger Kit v3 (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/22391-virtuapin™-digital-plunger-kit-v3-nudge-and-tilt-setup-for-visual-pinball-10/) Playfield - Acer predator cg437kp . Runs 4k @120Hz with GSync enabled - See config notes https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=45098&p=457901 Virtual DMD - 60Hz monitor. In PinballX i use the stats plugin to display game data & high scores (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/23213-plugin-pinballx-statistics-display/) Backglass - HD TV. For me mirroring the playfield to the backglass is the way to go for multiplayer games so everyone gets a view of the action. I use OBS for that (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/25049-guide-playfield-mirrored-to-backglass/) Apron screens - My latest addition, two 5 inch 800*480 screens (https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/5inch_HDMI_LCD_(B)), I use DisplayLink USB-HDMI adapters to connect these. Inspired by @Carny_Priest (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/16462-update-visual-pinball-mini-dmdb2s-screen-for-apron-now-with-instruction-card-splash-viewer/) but a slightly different take on it, I display instructions on the left screen using PinballX apron screen functionality and the vpinmame dmd on the right screen (freezy is used for the main virtual DMD). For non SS tables i just use a 'free play' logo i ripped off the internet as windows wallpaper for that screen and while in PinballX i use it as a clock screen (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/23450-plugin-pinballx-clock/) So my screen setup is pretty customised!, this is what the screens look like in use (Backglass at top, Playfield lower left, Apron screens middle right and virtual DMD bottom right); allscreens2.mp4 (sorry about the black screen in the middle of the recording for a couple of secs, not sure what happened there - recording glitch) Other 'Toys' Surround Sound Feedback - Four Dayton Audio AEX30HESF-4 speakers provide playfield sound and vibrations using Lepai LP 2020A+ amps. Undercab Lights - I don't run DOF in the cab, but i have undercab lights working from a Lumazoid music visualiser from my front exciter speakers. Griffin Powermate (under the plunger in the picture) - Used as a volume control for windows, can also skip tracks by pushing in. Main use is when i'm playing a table with my own music playing and table music stripped out using Pinsound (https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=41071&hl=) Flirc V2 - Enables me to use a remote control with cab, main use when i'm using PinballX and the cab as a media player (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/22325-plugin-pinballx-media-player/ PinGulp - no cabs complete without a beer holder!. Mines on the right front leg so not visible in the photo.

tthurman
Damn, that's one badass playfield monitor Monster post dude, love the detail and sharing of the knowledge with everyone! Very nice, thanks for sharing!
scutters
Thanks guys, the monitor is awsome!.. but it does have one annoying problem, it goes to sleep on boot if it isn't the primary boot screen, so as i'm using it with a DP connection i can't use HDMI & DVI ports on my GPU!. That's why i'm using the USB-HDMI DisplayLink adapters for the apron screens. Anyway.. I didn't like the empty space on the apron between the Instruction card and Vpinmame displays, so.. i got another!. Three 5inch apron screens now, I've set the middle one up in PinballX as a Topper screen (i guess it's now a bottomer) and am using logo style wheel images with a black background on it. I've also decided to change how i use the main virtual DMD screen. Instead of recordings i'm just using my own 'No DMD' image with a border and overlaying the stats plugin in the centre, and then not hiding the DMD image in PinballX in game so it remains as a background. In use now looks like; newapron.mp4 (Playfield on left, Backglass right upper, apron screens right middle and main virtual DMD right bottom) Should anyone be interested, on a 'heavy' table in VPX with this setup CPU is around 70% (pretty level across cores so non maxed out) and GPU peaks around 80% in game.
Mike_da_Spike
Really, really amazing mate ! I love your screen and the 3x 5" screens is also awesome (you could also have 1x 15" uw screen for it ) Pretty good setup ! The backglass with the playfield mirror on it, is a nice idea as well !

Think PinballX would be able to handle using a single screen as a joint Topper & Apron screen leaving a bit of room for vpinmame by setting the size and offset values. So yeah, that would work too The backglass with the playfield mirror is great in multiplayer!
