I believe he is referring to the internal Pinball FX3 system.

I haven't used the cabinet recently and have only been playing other Steam games, but I suspect that because ZEN has renamed the executable, the internal FX3 system may not be functioning as intended.

It might still be possible to configure it properly for a custom system, I presume.

Hello everybody,

This has probably already been asked before but I couldn't find a satisfying answer to my question so please can you help me?:

I have an "All Tables" list, which is of course sorted alphabetically, that's fine.

But I would also like to have manufacturer lists like "Williams Tables" or "Bally Tables", but these I would like to have sorted by ascending manufacturing date, so for example a Williams SS tables list would start with "Hot Tip" (1977-11) and go all the way to "Monster Bash" (1998-07).

Somehow I guess this is not possible, or is it? At least not with the old Game Manager (?) because the sorting parameters would have to be taken from the "Description" field, and if I added a date before the name, like "(1977-11) Hot Tip", I assume this would mean that also the alphabetical "All Tables" list would now be sorted like that and not from A to Z anymore. Am I assuming correct here?

So, is there a solution to sort one "master" list alphabetically and the different manufacturer lists by manufacturing date? Thanks a lot in advance as always!

Try to run Pinball FX3 after the game update.
Pinball FX3.exe It was eliminated and now we have Pinball FX Classic.exe.
If you don´t change .exe in PinballX config, the tables open but game don´t close when you exit.

If you change PinballX config to monitorice the new .exe when open one table the playfield is black, need press alt+tab to view table. When you exit, the game is close correctly.

You're correct. You'd need to set up 'active filters' for the by manufacturer lists. But they would be unsorted.

Adding a date prefix to the table descriptions would sort them, but as you suspect that would also affect the All Tables order as well.

Maybe a possible enhancement for PinballX would be to have an option 'sort by' field in the active filter which could be set to any of the fields used in the filter and default to table description if not set.

Database Manager can create and manage filter definitions, but as Scutters mentioned, it doesn’t control the sorting of those filters.

The sorting logic is still handled entirely by the frontend, which currently forces alphabetical order.

If Tom wants to adjust that behaviour in the frontend, then it could become possible, but as it stands today, custom sorting isn’t supported.

Hi everyone, so here is my feature request for displaying medias in PinballX and keep their aspect ratios.

This is the first post : https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/31753-aspect-ratio-of-images-and-videos-on-the-screens-dmd-and-topper/

Why keep aspect ratios of medias ?

  • This would eliminate the need to manually resize images and videos to fit our screens.
  • It's much more pleasant to view an image or video in the correct aspect ratio, rather than a stretched, too-wide, or too-tall version.
  • In the future, if we change our screen configuration (e.g., switching from a 4:3 to a 16:9 screen), media files won't need to be manually resized again. This is also better for file sharing.

This is an example of my request : at left we can see my third screen now, it's divided in half to display the DMD and the Topper. For the moment PinballX expands the media to the resolution of the screens: the proportions of the media are therefore not preserved. What I would like is an option to allow PinballX to maintain the aspect ratios of the medias (see the result at right).

Many softwares allow us to choose how medias will be displayed: enlarged on the screen, centered...

Thank you. I think this is a useful and essential function for everyone in a front-end.
