Also for GBA if you are interested there is this site. http://gbarts.free.fr/ Scroll down to get to the screens, titles and Box shots for all games released so far. J

This sounds like the command line options problem again. -skipdsclaimer was removed from the .100+ releases. If you still have this in your Gameex command line config then remove it. That should do the trick Cheers J

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has managed to configure Nebula to work on GameEx. If so could they please post their config as I dont seem to be doing something properly. Also does anyone else use any of the Fruit Machine emulators available. I have started to use one thanks to the config Night has posted but I seem to be unable to change the keys ( To the Mame Standard). Has anyone been able to get round this. Maybe with a Keytokey Program? . If one exists. Thankyou all in Advance. J.

Hi Guys, I am sorry if I am stating the obvious and that you have probably already checked this but "King of Fighters" series appeatrs in my main ganme list and the filter Neo-Geo list. It is displayed as "The King of Fighters" so it is further down the list. Just thought I would mention it just incase this was the problem. J

Here you go DJ http://www.ddruk.com/ This site has them all. You have to register first though. Once that is done you can download them all using your torrent client. Have a Good one. J. Sorry Capp. I havent attempted to do a config on this one yet. I only started looking at it since you posted about it and ever since I have been playing. I will post as soon as I have worked it out.

Hi All, I have recently upgraded DivX to the Play version on their website. I use this to allow me to play Emumovies AVI files for my Emulators. This new version dosent seem to get on with GameEx at all. When GameEx tries to show you a movie Divx minimises GameEx and dosent play the movie. I had to un-install DivX and re-install an older version (5.2.1. I think). This is just a tip for you all. If it isnt broken dont try to fix it like I did. Cheers J.

Hello Again Tom I have upgraded to 4.89 and switched off the joypad. This seems to do the trick. The only thing I have noticed now is that GameEx seems to run a little smoother in windowed mode. This is noticable when i choose my emulators option from the first menu (possibly because I have 43 emulators setup). I will try to explain what I mean. When you boot up GameEx(Full Screen) the Bar that highlights the option you are currently on is animated (moves gently up and down). When I go into any of the options from the front page it thens slows down. It seems to stutter quite a bit (particularly in the Emulators section of my setup). I am wondering if there is something in my config that is slowing GameEx down at that point (possibly what was causing it to completely stop in the last few versions). But this is trivial. So far no crashes which is excellent. As long as it is running again that is fine by me. Thanks again for your support Tom. J. P.S. A donation will be heading your way at the start of next month

Hi Tom This is the log file after a freeze using the debug GameEx. I couldnt get task manager to appear after the lock up. So this may not be the whole file as I had to turn of my computer to unlock it. J. Whoops. That didnt work. I will try attaching it again. log.txt

No it is all emulators. The only reason the log was saved was because I changed the 'Snap images on a thread' option before I Launched GameEx to test if it worked. I havent tried all emulators but all the ones i have tried have done it so far. Also you dont need to go into an emulator for it to happen. Sometimes it will lock up almost as soon as the GameEx intro has disappeared. The reason the log shows that I used FCEU is because it didnt lock straight away so I just loaded a game and quit to test if it had worked. J.

Hi Tom I get this crash problem everytime. I have turned off creating images in a thread. It loaded, then I selected a game. But when I quit back to GameEx it locked up again. All that Task Manager tells me is that it is using 100% CPU Usage and that GameEx isnt responding. My log file is attached J log_txt.txt

Hi Tom, I have recently upgraded again and my GameEx lock-up problem has arisen again. This happened a few days ago and the problem disapeared on it own. This time I dont seem to be able to fix it. I have posted my config. Could you or anyone else on this board take a look at it and see what I have setup incorrectly. Cheers J. P.S. Ignore some of the emulator configs a lot of them dont work at the moment. I have just put them in so I dont have to reorder them later. Unless of course it is one of these that is causing the problem. P.P.S. I had to transfer my config to notepad before I could post it . Is this correct or am I doing something wrong there too. gameEx_Config.txt

Hi all, I have a few questions about peoples emulator setups (Not GameEx). Apologies in advance if I shouldn't be posting this here. Firstly it seems like some of you have 2-player X-arcades for using GameEx and also some of you use Visual Pinball. I also have one of these but cannot use Pinball properly because the default button setup for the X-Arcade is the Mame Config. Therefore if I try to setup up the flipper buttons in Visual Pinball (normally credit buttons in MAME) for use as flipper button in Pinball they will work as flipper butons but also insert a credit everytime I use them. Has anyone worked out a way around this without using the Programmable button on the back. Secondly , I am using KEGA for Sega 32X Emulation (it seems to be better than GENS for 32X). But whenever I choose a game to play it says "HARD RESET" "MegaDrive Startup" and also has a framerate dislay that I cant seem to turn off. Once again does anyone know a workaround for this.Or is there an option I have missed to turn this off. Lastly, when any of you are using Emulators that wont work without showing the desktop how do you get around the problem of it looking like you are on a P.C. Is it just a case of hiding all of your desktop shortcuts away and choosing a nice Desktop image or is there a better way of doing this too. Once again apologies if I shouldn't be posting this here. Thankyou in Advance for anyone that might be able to help me get rid of these few anoyances in my setup. J.

Hi There People, I am currently using 4.80 and every time I try to use custom Text/language on the config GameEx freezes when I go back into it. I have tried several themes (Incuding the Default) and I get the same results. GameEx loads, then the intro comes and goes and almost as soon as it has disapeared it locks up. I then have to CTRL-ALT-DELETE and shut it down with task manager. I am fairly sure this is a bug because it works perfectly with default English Text with any theme. Custom Text/Language also worked in previous versions. Has anyone got any ideas what is causing this. J
-
Cool Thanks Tom. Cheers by the way if you have just popped a beer open.
-
Hi Tom, I am not sure if this is a bug or not. I have just upgraded to 4.80 and I cannot seem to find the Emulator button on the GameEx Config. Has it been moved to a different category. Apologies if this isn't a bug it was my last day at my current job today so I have had a few beers. J

That's it. Cheers Tom . I had a feeling I had set something up incorrectly. J

Hello peeps, I have a Question about the Text/Language option on the Gameex Configurator. You seem to be able to change the text for all the lists that appear in Gameex. But when I save and open Gameex again all the lists have there original names(e.g. Mame,Favourites, news. Am I doing something wrong or has this option not been fully impemented yet? Keep up the good work Tom. J

Do you have debug set to 'yes' in the gamex config?

# The following settings are used if you wish to use the Zinc Emulator # (http://www.emuhype.com/) # for launching games based on the 3D SONY Playstation # hardware instead of MAME. # The Zinc Emulator runs these games much better than MAME, and most # will run full speed with full sound on modern hardware. # Zinc use should appear seemless in GameEx # and the games will appear as normal in the lists. The game has to be at # least partially supported by MAME, to appear in the list, and the ROMS # must be in the MAME ROM Directory specified above. # Therefore don't specify the --roms-directory option in ZincOptions. # Note: ZincPath should not include the EXE, just the full path to where # Zinc is located. Specify the EXE in ZincEXE. UseZinc=True ZincEXE=zinc.exe ZincPath=C:\Program Files\Emulators\Zinc ZincOptions=--renderer=.\renderer.znc This option is just quite near the top of the config page, Just below the Advance M.A.M.E settings. This works for me. It sounds like you are trying to set it up as an external emulator. Just use these setting with your own paths and that should work.

This is my config file for N64. I use Project 64 though. This works perfectly for me. [Emulator_1] Enabled=True StartPageName=Nintendo 64 TitleText=N64 Games StartPageLogo=n64 RomFilter=*.V64;*.rom;*.Z64 RomsInFolders=False ROMPath=C:\Program Files\Emulators\N64\roms SnapPath=C:\Program Files\Emulators\N64\snaps WorkingPath=C:\Program Files\Emulators\N64 MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=False AlsoLaunch= ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MapFile= OLDatZip=C:\Program Files\OfflineList0.7\datas\n64_OL.zip Command=Project64.exe [ROMPath]\[RomFile] The only things that I can see is that you have Debug set to 'true'. This will stop the emulator until you press a button. Also you have set the emulator to start games in full screen. Last thing try removing the brackets from the [ROMPath]\[RomFile] on the command line at the bottom of the config. Hope this helps.
