  1. But Bibgy is suggesting it does matter. I've selected the background manually in all of the Emulator SetUps, but it's still not lining up correctly on a few on the emulators. Bigby's post suggested that I needed to change the .ini files to match the 'emulator entries' - I'm just trying to clarify what he means by that.
  2. Can you clarify something here for me please Bigby - when you refer to your 'emulator entries' - are you referring to the folder names, or to the names that they've been assigned in the GameEx config menu? I've matched the .ini file names to my emulator folder names, but continue to have the problem with a few of them. Thanks
  3. I can't for the life of me find where to download this font (and I can't see where the original zip file is)??
  4. Thanks Bigby - so when you say 'different to what your emulator entries are named', do you refer to the name of the emulator folders? In other words, I need to match the emaultor folder names to the .ini names in the theme? I'm away for a few weeks niow, but looking forward to giving this a try when I get back home!
  5. Done - but problem remains. Latest log file follows -
  6. These boxes were already checked.
  7. Great theme Krakerman, and I think I'm nearly there with it......... For most of my emulators, they load up fine and the background is perfect for where you have set the video previews to play etc - I didn't have to set the Custom Background. For a few of the systems, however, there was no background, so I manually set the Custom background so that it picked up the right background for the emulator. Problem though is that the video previews etc are not in the right part of the screen. I've attached a pic of my Nintendo Entertainment System screen so you know what I mean. Have I missed a step when setting it up? I also noticed that the Emulator menu is not in the right part of the screen now (another pic attached), but I'm sure it was before? Again, is there a setting I've missed?
  8. Thanks Tom - downloaded the new version, and that has fixed the problem of all the emulators loading - thanks. I have another issue with the theme, but I'm guessing it's totally unrelated, so I'll put it in a separate post. Thanks again
  9. Tom how do I get the changes onto my system? (I've tried doing the full install again but the system is using the setup.exe file I downloaded earlier....)
  10. Beta downloaded and installed, but same problem existing. 11. Beta downloaded and problem resolved - thank you
  12. Ahhh ok, is it as simple as running that exe file?
  13. Sorry Tom , the beta?
  14. After downloading the latest version of GameEx today (I was probably 20 versions behind) I started checking functionality. Everything seems fine, except I've lost volume when I load a karaoke song. Weird thing is the previews work fine and are audible. But select a song, and the words start ticking along, but there's no volume? Now I must admit, I haven't used karaoke for a while, so it may not be related to the update, but seems a little coincidental. Anyone know what it might be? Thanks
  15. Hi guys, I've today updated GameEx (it's been a while since I've loaded an update), and downloaded Krak's new theme (and it looks fantastic! Thank you). A problem with loading some of the emulators - Mame games look and work fine, and most of the emulators are fine as well (Sega etc all good), Some of the emulator menus, however, are not loading (Nintendo seem to be a primary offender). The system seems to try to load it, then it crashes to a GameEx exception message. I've attached a copy of the message log. I've checked the same emulators using other themes and they run fine. Any thoughts? Thanks log.txt
  16. Thanks Krak - all sounds very straightforward. One question - "then each emulator you have setup make sure you select the correct background for each" - I don't remember doing this step for other themes I've selected. A few more details please?
  17. Been a while since I've downloaded and updated a theme - would someone mind giving me a brief step-by-step of how to get this incredible theme up and running please?
  18. Agree - a step by step how-to-guide would be great for people like me!!
  19. I haven't updated GameEx for a while (think I'm on about 12.35) but was planning to update and download this theme because it looks so damn good! Any associated risks? Anything special I need to do to get the theme running? (ie the previous post disturbs me a bit....)
  20. Looking forward to this theme becoming available Krak - nice work
  21. These look absolutely fantastic (first time I looked at them is today....). Is the theme available to download, or is it still a work in progress? Cheers
  22. Hi guys, Haven't updated GameEx for a while - running fine in the cab (not internet connected), and so haven't felt inclined to fix something that's not broken. Occurred to me though that I probably shouldn't let it get too out of date, or it might cause all sorts of config issues when I finally do update. Thoughts on this? How can I tell what version I'm currently on? Thanks
  23. The last time I looked at it, CFG Magician didn't have the option to change the cocktail switch. But even if it now does, you still have to check each game individually as I described above, so it's actually a more effective process to change the switch and test one at a time IMO.
  24. Yes, you can accomplish all 3, itâ??s easy enough, but time consuming. This is what I had to do â?? â?¢ Identify the Mame games that have a cocktail switch (I used romlister to do so). From memory, I ended up with about 180 games, but there were a lot of duplicates â?¢ Once identified, go through and manually change the switch on each individual game. Change the switch, exit and test, 1 at a time. Youâ??ll find that just because a game has the switch, doesnâ??t mean it will flip. On about 30% of them, the switch doesnâ??t do anything. â?¢ Once I had a â??cleanâ?? list, I created a separate menu item in GameEx of Cocktail Games, so that there was absolutely no confusion for a user as to what was going to flip and what wasnâ??t. I think my clean list (ex duplicates etc) is about 70-80 games long. Hope that helps!
  25. Yep, I use .flv for video snaps - just make sure you've got the shark007 codecs, mine wouldn't play until I loaded them.
