  1. That's how I quit. I vape'd for 2 years lowering my nicotine intake every few months. Now I don't even do that. It makes it VERY easy compared to cold turkey. Plus you are NOT getting any of the other crap in a vape.
  2. A good price. Wish I had the money to grab one.
  3. It's needed to be done for years. I am actually looking forward to not being in pain every day. My son's mother had it done 2 years ago. She said she would go through it all again and it was worth it. As for the Atari PC that'll be done as soon as I'm up and around again!
  4. Well my shells are on the way! Unfortunately on the 30th I am having all my teeth removed. It'll be a week or two before I even want to touch this project at that point. But once I am back up and around it'll give me something to take my mind off the recovery. 2016 should start out fairly well I think. New teeth and new emulation console!
  5. Oh I had that friend! I had an Atari 2600 ... he had an Intellivision. I had a TI994/a computer ... he had a Commodore64. I had a 13" B&W tv in my room ... he had a color console. I had a sprinkler ... he had an in-ground pool. I had over-air tv ... he had cable. I had a 1981 Ford Granada ... he had a 1985 Dodge Daytona. I had sex ... hey ... can't win 'em all!!
  6. Reminds me of the Atari Jaguar shell. I thought you were actually announcing this because I got it in my email today. They;'re making new games again. Great to hear the classics won't go away! Atari is on FlashBack 6, ColecoVision and Intellivision have released FB systems as well. All selling well.
  7. Wouldn't kill a live console don't you fret none son! Actually I thought about it and I think I need a system like the one below. I don't think I'm going to start this without the right case. I bought it on Amazon as a gift but when my son told me he didn't need a PC anymore (fixed his own - DATS MA BOI!!!) I decided to keep it. I have another 4GB RAM chip, 250GB SSD, 500GB 7200 RPM data drive and two ultra slim case fans ready to go. Just need to make sure I use the 2600 with the speaker holes cut out. I am trying to score one before I go with the solid cases I already have. There will be MUCH better ventilation on that.
  8. So I have gotten my hands on this i5 beauty: and I have a few of these lying around: Hmmm... whatever shall I try to do with them? Stay tuned...
  9. If I needed a video card for my Arcade Cabinet I'd jump on this. That's a nice price.
  10. I did that... I got this...
  11. I would have bought this collection but I already own the games. Most people that are Fallout fans have everything already...
  12. I don't know if I could get behind this. I love Dragon's Lair. It is a great game. It was also a lousy cartoon. I envision an hour and 45 minutes of a fantasy genre movie about a knight storming the castle, overcoming obstacles and rescuing the princess from a dragon. Just because it is stamped with "Dragon's Lair" name branding does not mean it will be any good. Hell hasn't this been done repeatedly? More power to him if he gets his backing. I wouldn't knock anyone trying to bring their vision to reality but I can't back this. Sorry just my $0.02...
  13. How well do these run in Win 7 / Win 8.1 / Win 10 environments? DOSBox is set up so that's not an issue if I need it.
  14. It's about time you finished my order Duglim! Now if you'd be so kind as to drop it off I'll love it forever.
  15. It's always about the latest and greatest... or the oldest. Stella gets updates all the time yet there's no great N64 or DreamCast emulators just fair ones.
  16. Huh... looks like an interesting platformer but while I was trying to play it I noticed that the music is harsh - that hurts after a while. If I play this on a regular basis it's going to be sans sound.
  17. Just thinking about it I would think - from a home build point of view - that it would be a lot of work for very, very little reward. Aside from someone wanting a "perfect re-creation" I don't see why anyone would do this. I dunno. Maybe someone who's actually done it or worked with these cabinets could explain it.
  18. Bought a shiny new GameEx lifetime license today. My old one was left out and got moldy. =P

OR - bought a new 2nd code while they're still including all the good stuff! Come in handy when I get that second system up eventually.

Seconds Classic - can't they go out and find some real news?

Bah! "Real News" is too depressing. I'll take some dopey, optimistic, bleary-eyed soft sci-fi over the "real world" any day of the week. =D

  20. I have only ever done one AMD build (did two at the exact same time so I could also have a gaming tower - I count that as one) and it was the worst experience I ever had. I went through 5 processors to get 2 good ones. The 3 bad processors destroyed 2 motherboards as well. That snowballed into burning out 2 RAM chips. All told it took 3 months of RMA, phone calls and testing before I could get 2 working systems. I will never buy or build another AMD anything again. Just my $0.02 of course. And to be fair the 2 builds have been working flawlessly for the last 7 months.
  21. Damn that's also when I started playing M:TG. I was hooked the first hand and by the end of that week I had found 2 card shops nearby and had 4 full sets of 3rd edition in card sleeves in a binder. Aah what an expensive week that was!
  22. I was playing it for a little while. Unfortunately it didn't hook me and just made me want to play Magic again so I installed Magic: The Gathering which runs very well on my MSI GT70 Dominator laptop with Windows 10. Doesn't run too fast - used to fly across the map with one keypress in Win7 - and it's Magic! I may pick it up again because Hearthstone IS a good card game. If I do I'll keep that in mind.
  23. When I set up my X-Arcade I intentionally installed everything to the D: drive and all the games to the E: drive. I used the SSD for OS only. Last night this paid off in spades and worked out exactly as I hoped it would if I had a crash... I built a PC for a friend a few weeks ago. Since this is also my part time business I take all builds seriously even if it is for a friend. Turned out the PC case I ordered never came in. Seller refunded me and made good but I had every component except the tower case so I yanked out my X-Arcade case and built his PC into it. Had to be done to get the customer his system. My new case finally came in and over the last 2 nights I put it all together. I connected everything exactly where it was. All cables and slots were marked so I would be able to put it together exactly as it was and avoid trouble. Yeah that didn't work... the system insisted the install was corrupted because of new hardware. No clue where this "new hardware" was but after an hour long frustration-fest I wiped the drive and re-installed Windows 7. At that point - since I'm starting from scratch anyway - I upgraded to Windows 10. So... my SSD drive was ready to go. I downloaded GameEx because the new OS didn't know it was installed. I installed it over the old directory on the D: drive so now the system sees it and it shows in my Installed Programs list. I ran my regkey and all set. This also has the added benefit of being current to 14.40. EVERYTHING worked perfectly. Since the emulators were installed on D: and the game drive was already E: all I had to do was reconfigure Mednafen, Stella and Nostalgia to use the proper controllers. I also installed LAV codecs since I had a clean install to work with. What I thought would take me days of reset and reinstall took 2 nights. Keep that in mind next time you do a build! Saved me a ton of trouble. If this post helps one person it's worth it. Oh, and Adultery? I'm still using GameEx Launch! As an aside - what are people using in Windows 10 for an ISO mount program? Haven't tried it yet but I still use ePSXe and Daemon Tools was uninstalled on my laptop when I upgraded to 10 due to incompatibility. I'm probably going to switch to Mednafen for PSX but since it's all set up I thought I'd ask first.
