In my experience, and i've tested this quite a bit, Big Picture can cause all sorts of problems when used with GameEx. You get a lot of focus issues, and sometimes even process watched problems. My advice is - disable Big Picture. Also i've found that in Offline Mode it's best to launch Steam with GameEx, in the Steam Client itself set to auto-login (remember) and tell GameEx to NOT login/logout. That way Steam will always be loaded ready, and GameEx just launches the games. In my experience this is the most fluid method

Just a FYI - the PC Settings bug is a known issue, it does save your settings but it doesn't show it in the Setup Wizard. Everyone's install shows Pentium III no matter what is set

Yes, also try deleting Japan; from the filter. This will not only give you the JP clones, but all the games that are JP only

Of course, but the Tankstick still ends up over £50 cheaper after shipping compared to Amazon! Of which also don't stock the solo version either I'm seriously considering trying one of those Scorpion's that Todd linked. I mean they look pretty solid, and seem to get positive reviews, the few that i've found. I guess it'll depend how patient i am when the time comes (will i be able to wait a bit longer for the X-arcade )

Thanks Drac. I tried everything to best of my knowledge, even uninstalled Far Cry but GE still refused to launch (i even did a complete removal and re-install). I had no windows restore So i'm back from a Macrium restore instead, which i've been meaning to do for a couple of months (i like to do it every 6 months as routine). It strikes me as a bit of coincindence that the minute FC3 installs GameEx for the first time fails. I'm not just saying this Tom but that is the only time i've had GE crash on me like that and i honestly believe it was FC3. It's known to be troublesome, in fact it's why i hadn't installed it that time. Just do a quick far cry 3 search and you'll get 1000's of results of it crashing peoples systems and making them unstable. For giggles i'm going to install it straight away this time to see what happens I'll report back tomorrow.

It happened before your fix, and after. I think the Far Cry install ruined something in Windows as there were lots of redistributables and .net installs. Too coincidental that GE stopped working right afterwards. Do you know how to find out in Windows 7 what has recently changed?

OK, Far Cry 3 finished just before you posted the fix, i launch GameEx and i get the windows "GameEx has stopped working". I get no log as doesn't even launch. GAH what is going on with my system?! I honestly haven't done anything to change my system since this morning. I think i'm going to have to do a complete install from fresh. Back soon.

That's the problem - I puchased AC3 and Splinter Cell via Steam but i installed them via Uplay (i think you only got a key, so can't install them through Steam) so they don't show in either. Both the Trials games however require Steam and Uplay (i know, stupid right) so i installed them through Steam as it's easier and those 2 DO show in the Steam list. It's complicated i know but what can you do

Sure np, i just thought may be (well hoped) that if installed through Uplay they'd show. It's no problem though. I'll report back as soon as it's done.

configurations.7z Far Cry 3 will be ready some when soon - it crawled all afternoon so it's still going

I actually manually updated as the automatic didn't work. It downloaded ok (via auto-update) but once finished it exited as usual, expected to see the installer pop-up but nothing happened. I tried again and waited a while, maybe 10 mins and still no activity so i manually updated in the end.

I have no \MEDIA\Uplay folder, no uplay.ini or cache files either

Trust me to be the one huh! I have 4 Uplay titles installed, none are being detected. I went through the setup to make sure it was enabled. A few notes in case they help: They were all purchased through Steam, but only 2 are installed via Steam, the other 2 via Uplay. It should be noted that the 2 installed via Steam do appear on the Steam list, but not Uplay. I have one other title (FarCry 3) that was purchased through Uplay itself but it's not installed so i'm downloading it now - it'll be roughly 3 hours before i'll know whether GameEx detects it. log.txt

That's what i meant, yes Try loading Bomb Jack directly from the MAME section and see if the snapper works. If so then you may indeed need to use the MAME list route.

Could this be because jedah seems to be using a non-integrated MAME setup? I was on the understanding that for the Snapper to work you need to use the integrated MAME portion of GameEx?
