  1. The foreground images are a great way to apply a frame effect over the images (image and image2) in the themes. One thing I would like to see in the Theme Editor options (Yes, I will be putting in an Enhancement request for this!) would be to select in Theme Editor Options to use a default background image or default foreground image to simplify the theme creation process and eliminate the repetition and excessive size due to so many images. I will get back to your other questions later as I have a date with Doctor Who on BBC America to attend!
  2. Possibly not since you already have scan lines with the lower resolution (490p) of the TV.
  3. Arcade ambiance is either enabled or disabled and this is at a global level.
  4. Thanks!!
  5. I updated through GameEx - no problems here! @Wubble - If you select Custom, then click Next Arrow, then you can check the box next to the option(s) you wish to access/change. Not quite a "One Click" deal, but, there again, neither was Advanced Config.
  6. I don't think that there is a single answer to the question. For most people, IMO, I would have to say there is a lot of nostalgia involved and enjoyment from that. It takes you back to a happy place, especially if you had owned that system in the past. For others, I am sure it just comes down to bragging rights - "my cab can emulate a gazillion" old systems and I don't care that I have 300 iterations of Asteroids!" I would say that there is a 3rd category that enjoys the challenge of making things work, looking into the past of a system that they never used before. My primary interest is MAME, however, I have very fond memories of the early Atari and Intellivision consoles and the Atari 8-bit systems and I find them to be an enjoyable escape. I also enjoy my Xbox and Xbox 360.
  7. As threatened in my previous post in this thread... a b-day gift from me to the users!
  8. *BLUSH* Thanks!
  9. Gave it a go and all works well accessing the Setup Wizard within GameEx! Now to crank out a new logo file! Thanks again!
  10. Will give it a try and report back in the 11.76 thread! Thanks!
  11. That is awesome, Tom! Thanks!
  12. Thanks all! It will be a great day! Get to have a wellness check with my doc this morning (good thing it is a medical doc - otherwise I'd be custom fitted for a "hug me" jacket!
  13. [RESOLVED]!!!
  14. Likely the original author was using custom emulator backgrounds which generates the extra ini files and the EMULATOR BACKGROUND OPTIONS section at the end of the theme.ini file. Each entry points to the corresponding .ini file and has the individual emulator layout settings. This is really a cool idea and I have yet to take advantage of it when creating my themes as it can cause some heartache for the new user looking for a theme that they can use out of the box without as much tweaking. Once I get things settled with reinstalling and fine-tuning the emus, I may explore this further for my own use as well as being able to assist more intelligently when someone has an issue.
  15. To quote an old highschool friend.. I roll my own!
  16. Sounds good to me - anything to make the experience easier!
  17. You may wish to look at the theme.ini file first as it throws in the X-Y coordinates for each custom emulator display location (i.e. Image, image2, List, etc.). It may be just a matter of deleting those sections in the theme.ini file, saving, then booting (make a backup before editing!).
  18. Have you looked closely at the theme through Theme Editor? Are Custom Emulator Layouts enabled? If so, disable, save, then see fi they align the same as the rest.
  19. Oh my.. he's at it again! Last thing I need is my wife thinking I am surfing pron... To curb my excitement I will use a technique that worked wonders when getting a physical by a female doc years ago. Visualizing Bea Arthur in a thong.... Whew! That was close!
  20. To be honest I can't think of any reason to use it - the changes you have made to the Setup Wizard are very complete from what I have seen. I know that sometimes it is easier to point someone to the Advanced Config because you can count to a specific page in the depth of the option being tweaked. That is probably more habit that anything. It may be preferable from a support standpoint to only have one app available that all use. I know that I will use Advanced Config when making changes while GameEx is loaded. If there was a way to integrate Setup Wizard access through GameEx to make changes on the fly without having to take it down, that would be an awesome enhancement.
  21. Thanks! Glad to contribute to the community and share my "mad skilz." There is quite a bit of talent in our user community (capable of more amazing things than I am) and I hope the competition the admins are backing draws more contributions from them!
  22. Before long I won't have need of the Advanced Config... thanks!
  23. New Brother Wolf Theme submitted. This was a simple theme I put together for my wife, Alicia. The least I could do since I spend so much time here and working on other GameEx projects! I love ya, sweetheart!
  24. I feel that this is resolved for now as GameEx defers to Gamebase to "give the orders" as it were since it is using its own DB and not one that is GameEx derived.
  25. Have you tried another means of connecting to the TV other than S-Video? Not knowing much about your video card or TV connections is why I am asking. S-Video, as well as component connections are analog connections while VGA, HDMI, DVI are digital. I am assuming also that you have a separate PC in your cab, so would be interesting to see, if possible, if you had the same issue connecting to your desktop's LCD monitor.
