Tom, could you please add an option to GameEx Arcade Edition to turn off PC to the Exit GameEx menu just like GameEx has? Or is it there already as a configurable option, I am not sure..?

I sort of fixed this although my solution is not very ideal: i left the old school PS2 keyboard plugged in in the cabinet + X-Arcade but i no longer use the PS2 keyboard, using a USB keyboard only now.

Yeah that does not work with the old style X-Arcade, I remember trying it ages ago. Nowadays they offer a USB versions of X-Arcades too.

I reported this earlier: - sometimes when fast scrolling games lists up or down the scrolling gets stuck and cant be stopped, i dont think its because of my keyboard. Restarting GameEx fixes it. That problem has really been bugging me since it keeps on happening every time i use the cabinet. Today i attached a USB keyboard and everything worked as it should, no problems, the menus/scrolling do not get stuck with the USB keyboard. (I am using a 2 stick X-Arcade in my cab with the old fashioned connection so i have to have and use an old keyboard attached to it). The old keyboard works with everything else without problems, just not behaving with GameEx Arcade Edition menu scrolling, always gets stuck. Not sure if its GameEx Arcade Edition thats somehow not compatible with X-Arcade or whats going on.

I really love this version of GameEx, using my cab is even more of a pleasure now. Hopefully this one gets that too

Aaah success After installing x86 LAV filters all videos (from 0.175 extras) started to play ok. Now my 6 year old son will be extra happy Thank You Tom!

Thanks Tom, but after installing the very latest x64 LAV filters from Git, no videos show up, just the sound of the video. Tried to fiddle with the LAV settings but no. Old PC, Win10 Pro 64bit, GF 8600 GT with latest drivers. Reboot etc.

I figured how to enable the cheats by a very easy command that is -cheat Managed to get the other extras to show up as well by unzipping em (well the game videos refuse to play, only the audiotrack was playing so i will not be trying to use them for now). Happy camper now. GameEx Arcade Edition is now the only choice of front end on my cabinet. BIG thanks to Tom & all for this gem!

Excellent stuff Tom, just started testing and very impressed. Is there a way to enable the cheat file by Pugsy? I havent been able to see videos or artwork of the games yet in my screen.

One small GameEx nuisance: when screensaver shows an interesting game, i hit the credit button and testplay that game. But after playing the game, I cant seem to exit from the game with my usual 2 button method, I have to get the keyboard out and press Esc to exit. Any tips or is this a bug?

Right. Go for 8 and Classic Shell. Just like i did and boy my cabinet is good now.

I really love these old school game cabinets, played em a lot as a kid, lovely memories, but I would not invest my hard earned money in them even if I had millions laying around like the Sharks seem to have. We have designed & constructed CNC´d cabinet kits that are better built than 99.5% of the competition but its been almost dead quiet regarding sales.
