Does custom art path show videos like mp4's?

Would be nice to have a option for video reviews for each game. So if we have a video file for a review of a game/rom that is found. Just like TV advert but one called Video Review. Any thoughts?

When I make a custom scroller text it seems that the GameEx rss feed is shown instead??? of the text I created in the theme editor to be displayed.

I just saw it and saw your post but from the look of the video wasn't sure how the background for each mame game was going to work as it just looked like a bad snap of a marquee or a cabinet picture to be honest, sorry! I did like the menu how it looked. not to big on the htpc scrolling snaps of the emulators, but I guess we could replace that with an graphic font similar to what Hyperspins wheel images are like I suppose, correct? Really looking forward to getting my hands on the new features of GameEx and implementing them in my theme. Thanks Tom.

Well I know it is both but we can't forget that the majority I feel are using it as a frontend for their emulators. Just look at all the themes out there as well as all the discussions in the forums. Most of them are geared toward emulators. So I think the ? does need to be answered especially since alot of my theme making is geared toward this. If it is not possible then I know the direction I need to make. Thanks Draco for hopefully getting an answer to this issue. That way we will all know once and for all. Sorry if it seems I am bugging anyone with asking these ?'s So far I must say on my PC I have no performance issues with all the system I have configured. I don't see how having all these systems could really be that much of an issue on the system performance but Tom would know for sure. If it is then I guess I'm using the wrong program for what I want to do. Hopefully not so as this program is so so much easier to work with and I Thanks Tom and all for all the hard work put into GameEx.

(Thought) You could have GameEx use the default image if no rom background is found.

Tom is there a chance of ever implementing MAME background support for each rom? I really would like to create background images for each rom just like Hyperspin and AtomicFE has. I know it's alot of work creating them, but it would be left up to the community to create them if they want. I know in the past I made references to this feature and just curious if you have any plans of adding it in. Thanks Tom

I just noticed on the MAME select screen the videos that are played there don't have the ghosting effect or my old eyes are just playing tricks on me. UPDATE! Nope I confirmed it that there is no ghosting effect on the MAME Select screen videos.

Hyperspin just blew us out hands down.

Tom is this issue gonna be fixed in a future release at all? Another neat cool feature for videos/snaps would be to have an option to set them on an angle that would make for some seriously kool themes.

The installer works very nice and it uninstalls just as well if you choose to do so. I had issues with the uninstaller of sharks that screwed things up on my system which at that point was when I switched over and like I said I have never had an issue so try it out if anyone is having issues with the other codec packs.

Why? I have had nothing but probs with Sharks and switched over to K-lite over a year ago and it works smooth as silk so not sure why anyone would avoid it Tom. Maybe it comes down to preference I guess. I use the Mega K-lite Codec as it has the most features of course.

Try K-Lite Codec pack. I found it much better than Sharks.

Tonight I was noticing over on EmuMovies that the cart images are missing from the Fairchild Channel F system. So I compiled a zip with 28 cart images and uploaded them over on EmuMovies

Kinda sorta it will do I was thinking there might be a PC version that wasn't web based. But thanks for that link will check it out for sure

right now it seems like you have to manually figure out the lay file with the cordinates.

I'm talking about a editor that works similar to the GameEx Theme Editor that you could load in a image then define a box around your screen size in the bezel then that will generate the lay file when you save it and possible save to a zip file ready to go that can be saved to the MAME Artwork folder.

Yesterday I managed to produce it several times. It has been working today when I tested it. I wouldn't worry about it until I manage to reproduce it again and then I'll report back to you with what I find. Thanks Tom

Does this exist anywhere? Seems like a tool that would be very helpful in creating the bezel artwork files need for MAME games.
