I agree. I thought they were still work in progress so I haven't bothered. Jay T

I don't know if it will help, and its going against the recommended codecs for GameEx, but if these are the videos from Circo, he has stated a couple of times that all he uses on his system is the xvid codec. Try and see if that helps. Jay T

Good luck with all of your endeavors Adultery, and don't be a stranger around here. BTW, I agree with Nologic. Don't give up being a moderator, just take some time away from the forum. Its not like you are paid to do this or anything. Jay T

Thanks HK and Brian. I guess I'll start rolling my own again, thanks. Jay T

Wow, never heard of no$gba before. I'll have to check that out. Jay T

I guess they are not t-sticks then, I can't remember what they are called. Mine lift and twist as well but I got them before the mag sticks came out. Mine use a more mechanical means ( a spring I believe). The mag stick line replaced whatever mine happen to be. Jay T

At first blush I didn't think that was a mouse but I stand erected... I mean corrected. Jay T

Yeah, I kind of figured that might be the problem. Most of my comics vary between 10 and 30 megs in size, with a few I've seen up in the 60 meg range. I think it just depends on the resolution they were scanned in. Jay T
-
BTW Tom, I'm not bitching about it. I think the new reader looks great once it opens, and seems as easy if not easier to use than Comic book reader. I was just wondering if it was just me or if anyone else was having this problem. Jay T

Tried a comic in cbz format and it took a minute and 24 seconds on my main pc. I think I'll chalk it up to just having slow computers. Time for an upgrade. Jay T
-
OK, I'm back home and have tested the reader and am happy to report that it works, however it took over 2 minutes to load a comic and a minute and a half for another one. I don't know if this is normal or if its just because I have a not so cutting edge system or not but I thought I would report it. I am going to update GameEx on my cab next and see how it runs on an even slower system. I'll report back and let you know how it goes. Ok tested on the cab and the same files took 65 seconds and 45 seconds respectively which is much better. I don't have AV software on my cab nor do I have a lot, and I mean a lot of the software I have on my PC. I'm guessing I have something on here that slows the process down somehow but I'm not sure what it is. BTW most of my comics are in cbr format. I'll look and see if I can find one in cbz format and see if it opens any quicker. Jay T

LOL, and aluminum is pronounced a-loo-mi-num, not a-loo-min-IUM! I think its time to throw another shrimp on the barbie!! Jay T

Hey Brian, can you whip up a patch for the new chocolate mame that just came out. Not choco32 just plain old chocolate. Seriously though, sometimes we forget how our experience with some of this stuff may translate differently to some folks that haven't been around it as much. LMAO, googling vanilla mame. Thats a good one Creek. (no offense intended man, just couldn't help commenting) Nice cab BTW. Jay T

Nah, I think it was me. I edited out my comment so you may not have seen it. Jay T

Yes I've used this one a couple of times. Jay T

Nice tip, thanks a lot. Jay T

Thanks Tom, I am out of town now and away from my home computer and comics, but I will try it out when I get home in a couple of weeks. Headkaze, the link Tom showed above will get you started. I can't tell you exactly where to get the real comics but you can sometimes find them in the usual places, such as torrent sites and usenet and such. Jay T

Good idea but no luck. It returned a no locking handle found message, this time on tmppdf-6.png. The log is below. i tried rebooting my system as well but had no luck there either. I would love to get this resolved but I am flying out of town tomorrow for a 10 day work trip and will not have access to my computer during that time. Maybe someone else can help resolve it in the meantime if they have the same issue. Hey Tom just tried the new ebook reader and not having any luck. I have it enabled and set my paths correctly as GameEx can see my comics, but when I try to actually view them I get a progress bar for 20 to 30 seconds and then GameEx stops the progress bar and goes back to the selection of comics without letting me read the one I selected. I read the log file and it says "The process cannot access the file 'C:\Program Files\GameEx\DATA\tmppdf-5.png' because it is being used by another process.". I tried to open the file tmppdf-5.png with adobe imageready and it looks like the front cover of the comic I was trying to view but I don't know what could be causing it to hang. I do have adobe reader speed launch in my windows startup folder, but I don't think it uses pngs. Im not sure what process could be hanging this up. My log file is below.
