    Updating 'bug'?

    Why? What's wrong with that?
  2. I thought if you have WinDVD installed you can use it's MPEG2 codec in GameEx anyway? How does it differ to using WinDVD to play it?
  3. PlugInLCD v2.78 Released - "LED's Off When Game is Run" option is now working - "Use GameEx Profile in List" option added. When viewing games in a list it will now show the default emulator profile unless this option is selected in which case it will show the GameEx default profile. - "Light Game Buttons in List" will turn off lighting the game buttons while scrolling through a list and show the default emulator profile or the GameEx default profile depending on how the "Use GameEx Profile in List" option is set. Tempest: You have me really confused! I noticed that when in GameEx the plugin was never setting the MAME default profile. So I have no idea what was going on there. But I have changed it to do that now and added an option to turn it off. Also I've made sure the buttons are lit when returning back from a game. So there should be all the options there you need to set it how you like
  4. Tempest: There is an option called "LED's off when game is run" but to be honest I never tested it and didn't even know if it was working. I didn't think anyone would not want the buttons lit during a game. If the LEDs are turned off during the game I should probably turn them back on when returning back to GameEx. If I get some time I'll add an option to "Only use GameEx profile in GameEx" or something to that effect. Stay tuned
  5. That's not how it should work, the buttons of the game are supposed to be still lit. Something is going wrong here. At the moment the plugin lights the controls for the game when you are browsing through the game list. Your idea does make sense though!
  6. Just uploaded the new loader and database for ScummVM to your ftp and sent Tom an e-mail about it
  7. Okay that makes sense no need to include the ini file then Ahh okay if they are different best to keep them that way then. BTW Just uploaded another version of GXDBM I've changed the search to now do a proper search of the results and hilight the closest match to the game your searching. It might save a few seconds searching through the list.
  8. Mate I always love free stuff for my cab I will add support if you want to send me one, as for what to display on the 3 buttons. I guess you could display a marquee across all three, and maybe control info when running a game. You know what though I reakon it would be better to get a mini LCD screen like those found in a car (some have VGA input I think) and use that as a secondary display for displaying game graphics / CP etc. The good thing about using a secondary display is that GameEx supports them already using Game Extender.
  9. I would include the ScummVM.ini file with all the paths because by default the file does not contain them and it might be confusing on how they are set in file. I would probably add all the games so all they need is to change the paths to their own. I also noticed your Neo-Geo database still has "SNK Corporation of America" when they should probably be changed to just "SNK Corporation". The new version of GXDBM should make that easy to do. I could do it here but I think you should keep the versions of your databases maintained on your end.
  10. Toonces: Yep that's how it works for me and how it should work. The LED's shouldn't change state when you launch the game so returning back to GameEx they should still be lit right. So I don't know what's happening in Tempest's case.
  11. Great idea, I wish I had of thought of that in the first place it would have saved me making that form. Okay uploading again so now when you edit multiple games it just shows the edit form and will modify the values that you change. I don't see why you would still need a map file, couldn't people just delete the dummy files of the games they don't have?
  12. Airbrushing notebook, nice idea Post some pics when your done! Okay just uploaded a new version of GXDBM with a "prompt to save" feature. I loath losing data so I put it on a high priority, we don't want you accidently losing data again. Let me know if there are any problems.

    MAME32

The way Mame maps keys is like this [CTRLR].cfg -> default.cfg -> [ROM].cfg I would suggest you copy your Mame folder and play around with a copy. Is your ctrlr folder in the Mame folder? If so maybe try changing the path to ctrlrpath ctrlr Also I would delete all the files in your cfg folder and just see if you can get the ctrlr file working first.
  14. Actually you can, I have a codec for it on my PC and it plays .flv files in WMP so it should work fine in GameEx as well. I use the Vista Codec Pack which also works on XP and I've tested them to work great with GameEx. I haven't tried .flv playback in GameEx though there shouldn't be a problem if WMP can play them.
  15. Lol that was one of the main reasons I was reluctant to go with a menu system but I think it was worth changing to. What I need to do is add a "save dialog" which will pop up when you've made changes to the database and your about to exit or load another database. That should solve that problem. I will add that as soon as I get some time to work on it again.
  16. The thing is when you launch a game from GameEx and return back to GameEx the buttons should be lit the same way anyway. Can you explain why the buttons are not lit correctly returning back to GameEx?
  17. Thanks again Flash. I really am confused about the problems your having with the search feature. Are these problems only on your work PC or at home as well? I've tested it quite a bit and can't replicate it.
  18. Okay another update to GXDBM! This time I removed the buttons and went for a menu strip instead. It gives me more room to add options and I think it's better organised and easier to understand. Added a menu option "Edit Game(s)", when you have multiple games selected it will popup a dialog where you can select which fields you want to edit. Then you basically enter the data you want and it will edit all the games.
  19. Yep I got the xml's thanks Um the main change was adding the search results but a few buttons were changed around aswell. I hope that doesn't mean too many changes for you. Don't put it on a high priority though I think databases are more important than the tutorial and all our other volunteers seem to have gone on vacation. Happy for you to update the loader, let Tom know about it as well so he can update the file hosted on the main site. I guess for the multi-edit thing, I will need to add a set of checkboxes so you can select which fields to edit for the selected games. Shouldn't be too hard to do, I'll see what I can do.
  20. Thanks Flash Glad that wierd error seems to have gone. Perhaps it was some connection issue with AllGames or something. I see what you mean about the different Publisher names. I'll have a think about how to add a multiple edit system or maybe some sort of search & replace system.

    MAME32

I believe ctrlr files must also have all the default keys in it too. So I would take the IPAC example I posted and change the default keys to match your own.
  22. I'm actually a big fan of British comedy. I got all Ricky Gervais dvds although I think there is a mixed reaction to his stand up over there. I prefer Extras to the Office. I like Terry Gilliam's work too. You will have to give me an update on whats the best stuff over there at the moment as we are way behind. We've only just got the first series of Ideal for example. Seen a few episodes of the Royle Family which I liked. League of Gentleman was a classic, love that dark British humour. I must admit though not a fan of Mr Bean but I did like Rowan in Black Adder. Red Dwarf another classic and Little Britain was pretty good too. Sacha Baron Cohan is a legend too... Like I said I like alot of it I must admit I didn't recognise the backache reference though but like I said we are way behind in British comedy series over here. Anyway yeah good idea to test it out later, I also did a minor bug fix so it will be version 1.4 now. Let me know if it's working on your home PC.
  23. I tried the same thing, created a new game, typed in boulderdash, selected all fields, searched AllGame, double clicked the NES version. It added in the data okay. It's really hard to debug when I cant replicate it here
  24. Your sentence confused me when you said "cleared the Name and publisher and date". I thought you meant you cleared the check boxes but you meant they are getting cleared somehow by the program. It doesn't matter whether I have all of them selected or not it still works for me either way. I tried it with about 30 different games and it never clears any fields for me. Like I said maybe it's some issue your having with the AllGame website, I don't know.
  25. I just tried downloading it and it says 2.77 here. You must have extracted to the wrong folder or something? EDIT: The files were in folder called PlugInLCD so you needed to extract those into the PLUGINS folder. I'm uploading a new one that won't be in another folder (less confusing).
