  1. Get CLRMame and check your roms
  2. Your getting the "CD Player" because it's not mounting the image in time (or at all) or the game isn't self bootable. Did you try the "-delay 10" option or other number to give Daemon Tools longer time to mount the image before it launches Chankast? I really think this is the problem. EDIT: I tried installing Daemon Tools v4.0.3, and it crashes Chankast with or without using chankast_launch. I uninstalled DT 4.0.3 and re-installed DT 4.0 (had to reboot after that else it still won't work), then Chankast works again.
  3. You can place the command line switches in any order you like, so adding -unmount on the end will be fine. Unmount was added because DT4+ can complain about images being "in use" when you try to mount again. The -delay parameter is followed by the number of seconds to wait for the image to mount. The default is 5 seconds, so you could try -delay 10 or something and see if that helps. After you try that, and it still dosn't work, please post your *.lnk to chankast's command line (I'm assuming your using shortcuts along with my config example from the "user submitted configs" thead). Also, what do you mean by "not working" exactly. Does it just return to GameEx menu, or does it load Chankast but go to the CD audio player menu, or what?
  4. Eh? A WMF file? Are you sure? Is there some sort of buffer overflow issue with Windows Media Player or something? Seems a little strange.
  5. Also the images should not be zipped.
  6. Well Tom is on holidays at the moment, although he has popped in on a few occations. In normal circumstance Tom replies quite promptly. I expect he will answer you soon.
  7. It works fine for me in the new versions. Perhaps you need to give it more time for it to mount the image (-delay parameter). Also, I use Daemon Tools 4 with the -unmount option, and it seems to work fine. You shouldn't have to have an image already mounted for it to work, but I'm guessing it's not getting enough time to mount. After you run chankast launch, is the image mounted or not? Also, I try to get all my stuff working from the shell (outside the front-end) before I attempt to get it to work in GameEx. Does it work outside GameEx?
  8. The same as any emulator, just get it to point to your snaps path.
  9. I've tried installing the SB Audigy drivers from the CD that came with the card instead of going with the XP default drivers.. I'll let you all know if the problem persists.
  10. Sometimes when I launch a game (and this can be a PC game or Mame game I've noticed so far), and the audio will crackle and sound shit. I can exit out of the game, and then the front end audio will crackle (I play jukebox music in the background), launch the game again and the crackle is gone. Strange, anyone else experience this? I have a Sound Blaster Audigy Value with standard XP drivers installed.
  11. On that note, it would be nice to categorise games by the number of players too. For when 4 mates are over and you want to play games where everyone can have a go.
  12. I don't know how to do this is GameEx, but you could try AutoHotkey which can do all sorts of mappings for keyboard/mouse/joystick. It's quite easy to get scripts launching and you can even compile them into an executable. It's saved my butt a few times already. You could also try JoyToKey.
  13. Download AutoHotkey and you can map joystick buttons to a key on the keyboard (in this case Escape). You can then compile the script to an .exe and run it at the start of GameEx. For info on how to remap your joystick to a key stroke, read http://autohotkey.com/docs/misc/RemapJoystick.htm
  14. You should not need to do anything fancy to get VisualBoyAdvance working with GameEx. Try removing the menu by selecting it via the menu (File->Toggle Menu). Also set Options->Emulator->Auto hide menu. Now when you press ESC to exit it will show the menu for a few seconds then exit. When you run it again from GameEx there should be no menu.
  15. Hi Everyone I have my CP set up to use the default Mame keys. Unfortunately some emu's, Chankast for example, will show the menu strip when pressing the Left Alt key and pause the game. I have written a little script with AutoHotKey to map LAlt to v. I was wondering how you can do this with GameEx. I've read two example scripts but they only remap joysticks to keys. How do you remap a key to another key using GameEx?
  16. Here is my Soul Calibur cab, finally finished. Thanks Tom for GameEx, it wouldn't be the same without it! Project Page
  17. Show us your log, it shows the version of Mame and other stuff we can use to help you out.

    3D GAMES

Have you tried adjusting the horizontal on your monitor. Perhaps it's using a resolution on your monitor that has not been set properly yet. Just an idea.
  19. I'm using Mame32FX, mainly because it has auto audio level adjustment. Games like Mortal Kombat seem rather quiet on Mame32, but are amped up in FX.. I think this is the case anyway.

    What is girder?
  21. Try using mame32fx
  22. Hear Hear... Noooweeelll Nooweeellll Nowell Noweeelll... ahem yes Merry Christmas to Tom and all the crew here on this board. Don't drink too much eggnog or Wild Turkey. I won't be having much of a Christmas myself, apart from my starsign saying: I know this it true because I have been working my ass off trying to get my arcade cab finished by Christmas day for the party were having here. Of course, the cab is 90% finished and without a paint job, so close yet so far... Oh well, I guess I can drink myself silly instead.. ho hum
  23. Is Google using context sensitive ads or what? I come in here and there is an ad for WinDVD.. I go to the thread about a monitor being too bright and there is an ad for LCD Monitors. Am I getting an Acid flashback or what? O_o
  24. There is an undo option, just run Instant Sheller again. If you don't have access to the desktop, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and run Task Manager. Select File->New Task (Run...) and enter "explorer.exe".
