  1. 1. The "shifted screen" you describe is simply the wallpaper going from stretched to tiled, as I have already stated in the post you quoted above. Tom is now aware of this, so you don't need to post about it again in obnoxious bold blue text. 2. Use Google, we are not an Internet service which helps people learn how to use ordinary functions of a computer system. 3. How do we know what's on your "Sega CD Roms" disc??
  2. Or, use LaunchShell and don't use the hide icons/desktop etc. options, just set GameEx as the shell and use launchshell before and after launching GameEx and it will keep the shell hidden until you exit, upon which it will load the desktop for you.
  3. I didn't know you had to send keys for Visual Pinball? What keys need to be sent? If you were supposed to send keys, then I think we have found the problem a few of us were having. Perhaps hiding the icons and wallpaper was an unessessary move. I think the older method of hiding was better than hiding the icons and wallpaper anyway. Also, found a small bug on this release, after launching GameEx and exiting it changes my wallpaper from being stretched to tiled.
  4. Looks really nice emphatic. I would really like to see more themes using black backgrounds. I think they look great being dark like an arcade cabinet is. I notice alot of MameWah skins go for the dark backgrounds. Why not GameEx? Personally I like mine to look more "arcadey" than Windows Media Centre.
  5. Tom, have you tried using the WaitForInputIdle() API function just after launching Mame, then sending the "OK" then instead of sending it over and over?
  6. This is the third time you've double posted. http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=835. Please refrain from posting the same question twice. Thankyou.
  7. I think the same thing used to happen when you alt-tabbed out of GameEx, or something like that. Tom has just forgot to refresh the image when the window is re-drawn.
  8. Dude you gotta stop double posting, it's annoying
  9. Chankast Launch can change the region of your flash file using the -region switch.. Run Chankast_Launch and you get a list of options.
  10. On behalf of admin, please don't double post
  11. Depends on the playlist your using.. are you using All Songs? Check that
  12. Hmm, dosn't work for me, I get a blank screen then "Powered by VisualPinMame" logo, the LCD display comes up, but I have to alt-tab to get the actual table to show. EDIT: BTW isn't jukebox supposed to return to the last song and play position when you exit back to the front end? It seems to play a different song for me.
  13. I'll give it a try... and don't forget http://www.futurepinball.com/ if you like pinball!

No don't put your music in the Mame32 folder, create a new folder for your music. It dosn't matter if it's on another drive. MPEG LAYER 3 AUDIO is mp3. Yes GameEx can play mp3, it can play any file that Windows Media can play. You need to now run C:\Program Files\GameEx\GameExConfig.exe and set up your audio paths for your music. There are a few other options you can change too. Have fun!
  15. I agree! No point in fixing something thats working

I suggest you get Mame32 running first, download the "Mame32v.102_Binary", and noone is going to tell you where to get ROMs, so that's something you will have to figure out youreself. Once you download that, extract it to a directory, Eg. C:\Emulation\Mame32. Nothing from the Mame32 archive should go into the GameEx directory. Launch the Mame32.exe file and get a game running. Once you have games launching from Mame32, then run GameExBasicConfig.exe in C:\Program Files\GameEx and setup your paths to point to C:\Emulation\Mame32\*. If you can't get Mame32 running without GameEx first, there is no point in trying to get GameEx running.

    MAME32 v102

What's so good about advancemame? I use mame32fx mainly cos it has some audio tweaks and various driver fixes.
  18. Tom, did you check out my "missing icon" theory, was I right was that a bug? Sorry, I keep hijacking your threads, I just seem to miss your reply on some things... :\
  19. I new you were up to something Nice work Tom, I'm glad you squished that exception on exit bug

    gameex

You need to install it as a standard Windows font. Open Control Panel, select Fonts, then select File->Install New Font... then browse to the verdana.ttf file you extracted from the zip above.

    Download verdana.zip and install it.

No, don't easymame in the gameex folder, put that somewhere else, then run the simple config program in the gameex folder to set the paths for your version of mame.
  23. There are keys to go down the list a page at a time, there are also keys to jump to the next/previous letter of the alphabet.
  24. You have to wait about 10 seconds then you can skip the nag screen. Or donate $20 to Tom and he will send you a key to remove it.

    LaunchShell

This little ute I knocked up to kill and restore the shell upon launching of GameEx. Place the launchshell.exe into the GameEx folder, then set the following parameters in GameEx.ini... LaunchOnStart= LaunchOnStartNoWait=launchshell.exe -kill LaunchOnExit= LaunchOnExitNoWait=launchshell.exe Now when you launch GameEx, it will search out for the shell, if it finds it it will kill it. Upon exiting GameEx it will again search for the shell and launch it if it's not there. You can get access to the shell while still in GameEx by pressing CTRL ALT DEL together then selecting Task Manager, then select File->New Task (Run..) and type in explorer.exe and the shell will load. launchshell.zip
