I have some other request, which I think would be really helpful. Add some "comment" tag, which can be displayed in the table description, so we can add personal infos about that table. A standard example would be: "PhysMod5 by Dozer" (now with the beautiful alternateexe the system version is not shown anymore) or "difficult" or or or You can always argue against this with "Why don't you just add it to the table name?"... because it is truncated by ellipsis and something like "The Machine - Bride Of Pinbot; VPX by wrd1972" is truncated for sure. So an alternative maybe easier to implement would be 2 lines for table names as a default and the third line is truncated by ellipsis (line breaks accepted of course).

sorry to reply to my personal problem so late (I was really busy bringing my VPin into the cab, but now I could test this vesion). And in short: resolved! No problems anymore since I updated PBX (and I did about 30 restarts), so: cool! Thanks a lot!

You must activate "run as administrator": right click the exe (VP9, VPX...) and choose that option. If UAC is the problem, it should be solved now. From what I heard, it is also recommended to unblock all dll files (again right click and check "unblock" or so..) although I never had any problems with this. The latter one was just to give you all infos probably needed. Edit: what other people (and also myself) understood from your post, is the initial question, when you play a ROM the first time, to make sure, you are the owner (legal reasons).

Feature request: "Ignore prefix 'the ' at sorting" as an option. Same problem as in audio players. The Beatles are "The Beatles" and not "Beatles", so you don't wanna change this tag, but on the other hand it is annoying to have them all clustered at "T". Most audio players have this option, so PBX should have it, too. Today I changed (with a heavy heart) all The-Tables to the name without 'the'. For 'The Machine - Pride of Pinbot' I thout this is bs and changing 'The Rolling Stones' was not better either, so I didn't. (As a result, I had to make (or rename) all the media files, but that's not the hard deal.) For pinball tables, it would be simple, because there are only English name tables out there... so only the "the " sould be truncated at sorting.

I don't think, you can choose in GameManager, which exe is used per table (at least I didn't see that option). I, just add one line manually at the end of each entry (before the </game> tag). Like this <alternateexe>VPinball99_PhysMod5.exe</alternateexe> Works very well and as Carny already mentioned, you don't have to mess with different media folders and some more advantages. Edit: just to clarify, the old version of GM overwrote the complete xml without keeping the alternateexe tags, so you lost them after each modification. The new version keeps these tags, that's the difference. But anyways, it is very handy now. Luxury would be of course, if GM would offer a dropdown menu and add this line of code (hint-hint-hint, I hope Tom reads this )

not only to bump this some update. Good news: I can solve the boot freeze by restarting the PC again and again. At some point, it boots correctly. Bad news: as you can see, the problem still exists. Nobody an idea, how to trace down the problem?

^^ not quite right. You CAN use game manager since the latest version together with the alternateexe tag. Latest version handles this tag. And definitely recommend this option to you, Xantari. It is very handy

^^ there were requests for a new button for menu e.g., which is also a good idea. But this would interfere with the way long time users are used to PinballX. My proposal would just add a new option and everybody could continue using it like before, if prefered. And I think (correct me, if I'm wrong), it would be rather simple to implement tis option. cheers, Alex
