  1. Like some other people I since a long time encounter also the problem, that some (mostly newer) VPX tables are opened with an error for dB2s, so the Backglass is not started. I tried so many things to find out what's wrong or at least a pattern, but with no succsess, so I ask for help here. First: I know about the workaround with a modified dB2S sever from a thread here, but first it doesn't wok for me and second it's kind of laborious and it does not solve the basic problem just workaround. My observations: - this is the error, when it happens (see screenshot). So apparently it searches for a file extension only without filename. - if I manually start a table from the command line interface exatly as it is setup setup in PBX everything works Question: Doesn't PinballX just start the command as I did that in the CLI? If so, why does VPX not find the correct backglass file, when it finds it started from the CLI? Tom, I urgently ask for help here, because now there are more and more tables, which are unusable for me and others with that problem, which is too sad. Please help.
  2. ^^you're right, good finding! corrected. Thanks for the heads up!
  3. Just uploaded new versions of Star Wars - Rouge one because I didn't like the lighting in the bottom scene on the old one. Please download again...
  4. @humor4fun for Secrets of the Deep, I think I will not make another one. Problem with the other source is, that quality is always very poor. @Jannek thanks, that's ok for a start, can you sent the psd (or whatever, with the separate logo) to me? @Draco1962 or maybe I should just wait for your pic Looking forward to it, take your time
  5. I agree with Draco. And I also don't feel stepped on my toes. This is a typical 2 opinions, both right situation. Because there are 2 points of view. That's all. Anyways, I think you have completely got, what we meant, at least that's, what I read from your comments. So go on! So why not call it something like "Collection for beginners"? Just from some reasons: beginners see, where they can easily start and everybody sees it is not original work. The latter one is not only to avoid stepping on somebody's toes, but also to make it easier for people to evaluate, where it came from. Be it to find more from that author or only to reference to, if you make a drivate of it. And yes, I fail at the latter argument, too, because it's hard to trace origins within the web, but that's another discussion... I try to not step on someone's toes at least within the scene... Just do it!

  7. ^^Thanks a lot humor, glad you like them At the moment I am despreately seeking for a backglass image for Bio Lab to start with, but the ones (or one) out there are not so good. Maybe, if you found something better, I'd appreciate, if you shared it.
  8. I agree, something like this is helpful for absolute beginners and I absolutely appreciate your effort. On the other hand I am not at all a fan of all those duplicates and multiplicates on the ftp. E.g. atm I am looking for a decent BG image to use for my BG videos and all I find is one or maybe two files at sometimes 10 positions. So, what might be an advantage when you begin, is a PITA when you get deeper into it. Something else, there are several variations of Wheelies or BG Videos out there, so the packages only reflect your taste. it is ok for a beginner, but sooner or later you want it more to fit your own taste and look for original sources (mostly a hand full of threads). What I also see is, that those packages are not updated mostly, so you get outdated versions. So taken together i am more a fan of original sources even when you have so seek them. But also, I don't want to stop you here... Maybe you should explicitely claim, that these are only duplicates collected elsewhere on Gamex

  12. Plants vs. Zombies: Based on an image I got from Draco (thanks a lot). no grill with grill --- HQ ---
  13. El Dorado: Based on an image I got from Draco (thanks a lot). no grill with grill --- HQ ---
  14. V12: The only thing I like about this table is the music. But even that doesn't fit a s*it to the story. Anyways, it's here and it deserves a BG video. Based on an image I got from Draco (thanks a lot) no grill with grill --- HQ ---
  15. Shaman: Did my best to optimize the source image I had, which was really bad. Think the outcome is not perfect, but quite ok. no grill with grill --- HQ ---
  16. X-Men: Based on one of the static backglass images from "hyperpin". Again, I did a "Special Edition" with a cool grill. no grill with grill with grill (SE) --- HQ ---
  17. BG videos cannot be played within PBFX2 itself. Only via PnballX... as you found out...
  18. ^^that's cool, get creative!! Actually I'm desperately seeking for a really good source for Biolab.
  19. Captain America: Because this one was made in a minute I chose to do a "Special Edition" with a cool grill. no grill with grill with grill (SE)
  20. Sorcerer's Lair: no grill with grill --- HQ ---
  21. as promised: Star Wars Episode 7 (alternative version): Thanks a lot Draco, though I finally did not use your image your inspiration was great! no grill with grill --- HQ ---
  22. ^^thanks a lot odie, glad to hear pepole like my work! Mikujan and Jannek: I now know, what was the case. My encoder from some reason changed a bit the resolution (from 2132x1200 which is around 16:9 to 2078x1200). In PinballX which just stretches to the monitor's resolution this is not visible at all. In a Media Player, which maintains the original aspect ratio you can see this, because it adds black bars to the missing space. Fact is, the black bars were never part of the image information within the video. This explains our different experiences. Taken together these few videos are not quite ok but at the same moment ok, because they work flawlessly in PinbaX, which they were made for. Anyways thanks to you both for reporting your observations. After all I could find settings, that produce correct videos in any aspect. And I guess I'll upload three new ones this evening
  23. @MikujanGurejwitch do you run the video in a player? Because of the "Alien_vs_Predator_noGrill.mp4" line. in PinballX this is not shown and we are talking about using the videos in PinballX.
  24. in the registry there are entries for every ROM. Set ddraw to zero. Try first for one ROM (Table) and if that works, change it for all other ROMS, too.
