  1. Cool! I know this will help people make themes the way they want a little more intuitive.
  2. First, figure out what the actual BlazeBlue game's process is. Then, you can enter it into the .ini for the advanced config file you are using for that emulator. I think there's a tool that lets you edit that file right in the Advanced Config tool and/or the Setup Wizard. I haven't played with that in a while, but I don't think you have to manually edit the text file anymore (although doing so is certainly not difficult).
  3. Don't know for sure, but perhaps this is a problem where GameEx doesn't know what process to watch. When GameEx tries to take over again, BlazeBlue (which is not a stable PC game but a hacked arcade title that natively runs on a Windows variant) gets broke. Try adding the BlazeBlue process to the advanced config for that emulator.
  4. You *shouldn't* need to back anything up since it should just update the necessary files. If you had a very old version to begin with, perhaps the update could cause an issue, I suppose. Either way, you could backup your entire C:\GameEx or C:\Program Files\GameEx directory and you will definitely be safe. The files you are worried about should be in the C:\GameEx\CONFIG directory.
  5. Don't know what it means, but perhaps you are right: MAMEAudioMode=3 Apparently MAMEAudioMode=3 means don't play sound when AlphaUMi wants it.
  6. If you have bracketed text disabled, you will see many copies of the same game (clones) that will be listed with identical entries. If you want to know what the difference is, enable bracketed text. If you don't want to have multiple copies of games at all (most people don't), you will want to use filters to remove clones.
  7. Are you sure there are 9900 games? I haven't updated in a LONG time, but I wasn't aware there were anywhere near that many games. Where did you find the count? If I look on MAWS, it says that 0.141 has 9122 sets (which include bios and such) but only 4558+4511=9069 roms (parents + clones). I know some have been added in the u releases (which are not included in MAWS), but I certainly don't see 9900 let alone 10,207. MAWS is not the authority, but it's generally pretty accurate.
  8. If you want to see all games, you need to disable all filters. If you have ANY filters turned on, you will filter some games.
  9. That was going to be my next thought...are you looking at the right .ini file? It should be called gameex.ini and will be dated the same as the last time you made a change (last time you deleted something in the list for instance). If you are looking at gameex-default.ini or another file, you won't see your item in the list since it's the wrong file.
  10. If the game is not listed in the excluded rom list, then you didn't delete it in GameEx. The usual reasons a game does not appear are either not working with MAME and/or MAME filtering options selection in GameEx. Also, when in doubt, update your list!
  11. Have you verified that things work outside of GameEx? That's always the best thing to start out with.
  12. The easy answer is to only use a romset that matches your MAME version. if you want to use a new MAMVE version with an old romset and don't want to update your set, use CLRMAME Pro to convert the set to the current version. Basically, this will copy valid roms to a new directory. If they don't work, they won't copy over. OR, go find a current romset and use it with a current version of MAME. OR, don't update at all. No '80's game has been updated in a while, so there is no need to update...
  13. Probably not possible without a change to the MAME source and recompiling. I wanted to do something similar with turning bezels on/off but it requires going through the menu too, AFAIK.
  14. analog controls = define axis digital controls = define control _inc and _dec
  15. If you enjoy editing .ini files manually, you could make the changes to the GameEx.ini. HOWEVER, that's not necessary. In the GameEx folder of the Start menu, you should find an item for "Advanced Configuration". In that tool, you will find the Text/Language menu that's mentioned in the FAQ. As mentioned, make sure you set the language to "CUSTOM" when you have things set up the way you want.
  16. Ahhh, correct. If you are referring to the external screen saver, I'm not sure what the filters are. The built in one has settings you can adjust.
  17. I didn't realize there were any xbox games that were playable. I guess that means in the last 2-3 years of development on the emulator, 4 games have become usable. Not to sound negative, but it took less time to make the games in the first place.
  18. The screen saver uses your MAME list with whatever filters you have applied. You can tell it to only use favorites if you want which will limit the selection even further. If you have added a 'do not filter' game that's in the mature list, it may show up in the screen saver. If you do not have a current catver.ini, any new mature titles will not be filtered as GameEx doesn't know they are mature.
  19. You can set things up with a set image rather than one that requires per-game info. There is an example in the CP Wizard thread I think. I'd also go to the CP Wizard homepage on HK's site. It's got a lot of info.
  20. You need to add the appropriate process into watch process list of the advanced emulator config you are using. The only alternative is to use a loader that remains present until that process closes. The loader is a work around for something that can be accomplished nicely in GameEx, so I would not go that route.
  21. You can also use MAP files to rename the game from the .lnk name if you like. Of course, this won't get you any info like the databases provide.

    Coint Mech Hack

If you are buying more than 1 or 2, I'd definitely order from someone. Home Depot will be way too expensive for bulk quantities (more than 2 really). You can get matching locks from HD, but you have to hope that they ordered enough with the same number which is obviously no guarantee. If you want HAPP stuff, be aware that they have a minimum order and a hefty shipping rate. I think DiveMaster on BYOAC sells all the HAPP catalog for less and cheaper shipping.

    Coint Mech Hack

Here's a recent thread asking about locks: http://forum.arcadec...?topic=107606.0 Looks like you can get standard or cam locks for ~$2 each plus shipping. Here's one example from Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100173693/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

    Coint Mech Hack

The ones from Home Depot and Lowes are simple locks that fit and look fine. They are not exactly what came in a HAPP coin door, but remember that there were different coin doors out there with different locks. The ones I'm talking about look very similar to the original HAPP locks for both of my Atari cabs. If you want actual arcade locks, there was someone over at BYOAC that was either selling them or putting together a group purchase a while back. Perhaps he has some available?
  25. Copy one of the existing ones. Delete all records and enter your own. If you use the original as a template in this way, you don't have to worry about typos in naming fields.
