No disrespect intended. I was trying to be sarcastic and failing miserably. My bad.
  2. GameEx can run any emulator that can be launched from a command line. It can also (sometimes) be made to work with emulators that don't use command lines. If you can find an emu, you can run it!
  3. 1) Install a USB port under the CP 2) Install a USB extension cable from your PC/hub to the inside of the coin door (open door and plug in to use) 3) Suck it up and deal with it for now 4) That's all I got...
  4. There are 3 versions that I know of. I think the '82 version is 92mb?

I thought it was Tempest's job to be all sarcastic and call people out on mistakes. I didn't look at the code since I don't use Hulu...

    new cab build

That would be kinda novel (tilting top with monitor attached). You could then have easy access to the guts too. Personally, I like the look of a cocktail table better than I think I would one with a hole in it for the monitor to pop out of. However, I don't know if I would like looking down at a monitor for extended periods as you do with a cocktail. My cabs are off more than they are turned on, so mine have to look good just sitting there. I would personally need a solid glass top for one in my place. That's just me though...
  7. Just to add to what kicker said, you can enable/disable most things from the enable/disable menu. HOWEVER, there are a few things that are not there (radio, other web type stuff). You can disable that stuff in the Web Apps menu which may only be available in the Advanced Config tool (can't remember).
  8. Thanks for the hard work! Looks like I need to fire up the cab to get some new DB's.

You could map the exit key to Alt-F4 in GameEx.
  10. Filters probably. There are a couple things you can check. 1) clones - if you turn off clones, you will lose a bunch of roms (although that's not necessarily a bad thing) 2) verification - if you are using a different version of MAME and roms, some might not be compatible and be removed from the list 3) mahjong, mature, japan, etc - there are other filters that will remove games you probably don't want to play/display in your list All filters can be tweaked or turned off. Please be aware that after changing a filter setting, you must update your list for any changes to take affect.

I think I would consider upgrading the legs you installed. My wife wouldn't let me bring something mounted to saw horses in the front room. Looking good!
  12. The mameemumap.ini can be used to adjust the name of the rom that you are sending. So, for instance, Zinc can be set up so that rom names are converted to the appropriate number.
  13. Absolutely! You can disable pretty much everything you want so you can have only the components you want. The trick is finding the menu to disable it. I don't remember exactly where it's located, but you could try using the search feature of the Setup Wizard. If that doesn't work, you may have to use the Advanced Config tool. Sorry for being vague, but I don't use any of the multimedia features...I have them turned off.
  14. It's cool, but my machine isn't likely up to the task. I'm in the market for a new theme, but don't think I can load this one (and didn't want to take the time to download such a massive one as a test). Basically, I'm saying I'm lazy It looks great though!
  15. Are you running as admin?
  16. I use Emulation-Zone.com to pick out my emus whenever I add a new system. They have the links to emu home pages as well as a good blurp about each emu. I personally would recommend checking out a couple emus for each system to make sure you are happy with one prior to working on incorporating it into GameEx. Oh, and there are emulator configs defined for most emus out there, so you should only need to change paths in order to get it working. Good luck!
  17. Probably, but I've never tried it. It would DEFINITELY be easier with the advanced config tool if you can get that to work. AHK would work too, but it does require a bit of background with coding to get it right.
  18. You could remap your controller to use other buttons and then have an AHK script remap the button to alt for that one emulator. You can then add some code into that script that does not allow for the alt key to be combined with any other windows hotkey to cause adverse reactions. Sorta stupid, but since the writers of emulators don't always think these things through, that's what you get...
  19. Remap your controller to avoid using system keys (ctrl, alt, windows, context menu, etc). That's your best chance.
  20. You can use the search feature to do this on the fly.
  21. Registered users can keep files in 7z format and have GameEx extract the content prior to playing. Perhaps that's what you are trying to accomplish?

    impossible

Try running the "runitgame.bat" file. You should see an error pop up if something is wrong with the command line GameEx is using to call MAME32.

  24. You can run logon and logoff scripts as well. I personally have GameEx set as the shell and run an AHK script to start everything else and get the environment all set up the way I want it.
  25. I never had any luck using MAME newer than 0.117 until I disabled the new input system in my latest compile. I've read that some people have gotten it to work, but they still seem to have issues based on the number of threads over at BYOAC. In any respect, if MAME recognizes the guns, then you just have to configure each gun in MAME once and you should be good (provided you are setting things up in the global config and not on a per game basis).
