  1. You mean the new, more accurate version of the Wiimote? I've seen that advertised, but wasn't sure if was just hype. If it works, that would be a pretty sweet solution. Of course, this doesn't solve the link problem that a lot of people have claimed (where the Wiimote requires manual interaction to get it connected to the PC).
  2. Have you tried running the "runitgame.bat" file? This is the command that GameEx uses to call the emulator. It's often useful to place a "PAUSE" at the end of the file so that the window won't disappear so quickly. If you can't figure out what an error message means, post here and let us help out.
  3. I use batch files for each. Calling XPadder with the config file and such proved unreliable.
  4. Yeah, but VB can give you a migraine. What can minimon do?
  5. I think that's what I did in my script. I don't believe calling the ini with the path works (even though the documentation claims it does). Well, again, that's for PPJoy.exe and not PPJoyKey.exe.
  6. Hehe, you guys are trying to get a micro sized LCD game to play on an arcade cabinet/HTPC? That would be awesome with a screen that started out ~1.5" getting upscaled to 70" or better yet centered with 32" boarders! Reminds me of a game I saw a while back... http://www.pacmangame.info/worlds-smallest-pacman.html
  7. I have a script that loads PPJoy. I see you are using PPJoyKey. I'm not sure if that works exactly the same as PPJoy does from the command line. Perhaps that's the issue? I only have PPJoy installed on my driving cab which also needs GlovePIE (hence the need for the script). I'm not sure how to set up PPJoyKey if it works differently than the main exe.
  8. Oh, so you are putting this app together? Then never mind...
  9. Looks great. I'm sure your wife is happy you didn't do what she probably thought you were going to do. Well, that's what I found out recently in regards to my wife (she thought I was going to build a closet with a TV in it).
  10. Yeah, [RomFile]...I couldn't remember if it was that or what I put. Have fun!
  11. You can make your own wrapper to do this with AHK. The easiest way is to just record a macro of you clicking the button you want. You will also need to make sure you use an advanced config so GameEx watches the correct process rather than quitting when the loader menu is exited (via the AHK macro above).
  12. Where should we be looking? Will it be announced on this forum or somewhere else?
  13. I think they will work if you rename them to .avi, but I'm not sure. Tom looked at this a while back, but I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you.
  14. Isn't the color data stored in colors.dat, not controls.dat? I don't use LED's, so I'm just going from memory. There's an LEDWizard thread here that has TONS of info that will certainly be useful.
  15. Cool! We fixed it.
  16. You need to change your command line to include the rom path and rom name fields. Command=Project64.exeshould be Command=Project64.exe "[RomPath]\[Rom] Also, you don't need to update your list for all emulators. The update list is only needed for MAME since it does a bunch of other things when it's updating.
  17. GameEx is supposed to work through your list of games and only create a snap for games that are missing snaps. I haven't used the feature, so I can only assume it works. I personally used Circo's emumovies for everything. He also has a bunch of snaps, box art, titles, etc. for non-MAME systems as well in case you weren't aware.
  18. What was this topic about anyway? Hmmm, oh yeah, someone was having a problem with MAME or GameEx or something? Ehhh, I guess they should pipe up if they want more help. Maybe we "helped" enough already.
  19. You don't. You map the keys in MAME by hitting TAB (by default) while running a game in MAME. Go to the general settings and then you can modify what button does what.
  20. I know what you mean! I mean, Tempest used to be a total NERD! But, look at him now... Well, maybe that's a bad example.
  21. Bahhh, I'm wrong a lot of the time. When I am, I go back and edit the post so it looks like I'm right.
  22. I ASSUME that the Ipac referred to here is an Ipac4 which is a 4-player unit. The Keywiz is a 2 player unit (I'm not sure if there is a 4 player one available and I don't feel like looking). Anyway, by default in MAME (and by default configuration for the Ipac4), player start buttons are 1-4 and player coin buttons are 5-8. If you have a 4 player setup, then pressing p2 and p4 start buttons simultaneously will apparently exit back to GameEx. This has nothing to do with Ultimarc or GGG products, it has to do with the way MAME's default keys are set up and a decision Tom made in having the two buttons hard coded to quit the emulator.
  23. No, but it might be possible to set the delay so that the preview doesn't start for a certain amount of time. This works for games, but I'm not sure if the setting is available for movies (I don't have them on my system).
  24. The complaint about the Wiimote as a lightgun is that, when you turn off the cross hair, you end up with a lot of latency in aim that can throw off your shots. In other words, the cursor apparently trails where the Wiimote is actually aiming as you move. As a result, you would either need to keep the cross hairs on or accept that you may not be as quick a draw as you would like. NOTE: I don't have a Wiimote and these opinions were those of other people who posted at BYOAC forums. I have no basis to draw any conclusions one way or the other.
  25. What I meant about you compiling was that you would then have different versions. I didn't mean that you didn't know what you were doing Anyway, if you are running exactly the same versions and the roms are for that version of MAME, then you should be able to run the same rom on all builds. But, I guess that doesn't always work as this case seems to be showing.
