  1. Nope, just having to relocate things for the moment. With any luck, I'll have more space than time going forward (which has been reversed for quite some time).
  2. It means subversion according to wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Subversion
  3. I haven't needed the test machine (the main PC) for GameEx in quite some time. Things have just worked as advertised! I'm in the process of selling my house to get a bigger place with an actual game room. Unfortunately, that means that I had to move all of my toys into the garage to make things look "pretty" (I'm not sure it's better now, but...). If I can't get a sale really quick here, I'm going to set up at least one of the cabs in the garage to I can have at least one toy to play with!
  4. If you just want to have a list to select your PC games with, Media Center can do that directly. You don't really need GameEx if that's all you are trying to do. If you want to use GameEx though, it would be better to get this problem worked out. It's probably something going on with Windows 7 and GameEx that needs working out from what I've read here.
  5. Since all of these games are in the MAME set, I just pointed my Model2 and Zinc setups to the MAME database.
  6. I figured I might get a volunteer to get my cabs going again!
  7. One of these days I hope to get my cabinets set up and playable again. I suspect I'll be in for a big treat with all the new features of v11 (or pain in the arse depending on if things update smoothly )!
  8. I saw something about Jungle King in the MAWS entry, so that's probably what's going on. If the parent is Jungle King and Jungle Hunt (US) is the clone, then it won't show up if you have "No Clones" turned on. This is the same problem with Pacman and Puckman. Puckman is the parent and will show up in the list. Most people recognize Pacman as the parent, but that's actually not true. To get around this, Tom has put Pacman into the excluded filter list by default to help new users find one of the first games everyone wants to try. The easiest way to get Jungle Hunt into the list is to add "jungleh" to the excluded filter list. After you do that, update the list and it will show up 100%.
  9. I had a large post that got deleted when I clicked the wrong thing. 1) I keep a folder with the version of DAT files that matches my version of MAME. I think Tom keeps these relatively current, but I don't think it's every U* build. 2) I don't see a game by Atari by that name. The closest I see is Taito's "Jungle Hunt" (jungleh, junglehbr). If that's the correct game, then it should show up since it's driver status is "good". My list has more filtered out than yours, but I believe I have over 3000 MAME titles in the list. The only thing I can think of is that you must be using a different rom set version from your version of MAME. Or, if you updated your roms and/or MAME version, have you rebuilt your list?
  10. Is it possible that the drivers you are using do something to steal focus? I'm thinking that perhaps the driver or profiler pops up a message in the system tray to indicate that it's done something. That kind of thing WILL steal focus and minimize things for apparently no reason. That's been a problem in the past with the FFDShow codec for instance.
  11. Sorry for sounding snide, I thought you were being sarcastic.
  12. I know it's not what you want, but if you were to process the grid of videos into a single video, you would eliminate the slow down. The problem is that GameEx is taking all of the videos in the grid and rendering them at different than native resolutions. If you do this with a single video, it's not a big deal. BUT, if you try to do that with 9, 12, more! videos, it will result in a massive slowdown even for a fast system. The alternative is to re-encode your videos into whatever resolution they will show up in the grid. I don't know that this will make things perfectly smooth, but it will certainly reduce much of the workload the system has to do.
  13. Um, possibly.
  14. Is it possible that the game is changing resolutions?
  15. I think Diablo DID have a loader.
  16. PakkISO has two executables that are distributed with the installer. One is for creating archives (pakkiso.exe) and the other is for extracting them (unpakkiso.exe). Both of these can be used via a command line, so all you need to do is determine the correct command line parameters to use and use it on the run before line in GameEx. You will probably also want to use a command in run after to delete the archive. http://www.*.com/wiki/index.php/Pakkiso Is it ok to post that link? It's just to the wiki, but I'm guessing it should be removed?
  17. GameEx is designed to hold the volume button and then press up/down on the joystick. If you want to do it differently, you will have to write a script or use an external application. I would personally write a AHK or AI script to make a single button press send the command to turn the volume up/down. The alternative is to use a program like cabvol which will change the volume in Windows (slightly different than what GameEx does AFAIK).
  18. In the mean time, you might be able to set up a really simple script in AHK or AI to convert a gamepad button press (or combination) into the in-game keyboard button that GameEx is looking for.

    Shh!

    Yeah, Hacksaw was AWESOME!!!
  20. You can keep your organizational system AND have a single folder with all files at the same time. Depending on the version of Windows you use, you can either use Link Shell Extensions (Win Vista and older) or use the built in support for them (Win Vista or 7). I have done this for my video previews with WinXP and it works GREAT! http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html
  21. I don't think there is any built in way to do this. Just thinking here, but perhaps you could: Write a couple scripts and set them up as applications.I'm not familiar with playlists, but it may be possible to have a random item in a playlist.Maybe even have a script that ran at start up that would randomly select a video and add it to the "random video" playlist that you set up.That's all I can think of for now.
  22. Have you tried manually editing the cfg file to see if you can add the x- and y-axis? I've found that MAME doesn't always do the in-game setting correctly with guns. Usually, once I add the correct configuration manually, it does work if the guns are configured correctly. BTW, what drivers are you using (Act Labs, guncon2pc, wingun, other)? I hear that MAME doesn't like using wingun in current builds because it takes 2 guns and makes them one mouse (only matters if you have 2 guns). Is there an older version of the 64-bit code available for MAME 0.117? I have been custom compiling MAME for quite some times and have found that if I turn off the RAW input system things work nicely.
  23. That thread should not have any cabinets removed. I suspect that one of the moderators removed posts that weren't useful or related to the thread (inane banter for instance).

Yeah, the agent is a woman (actually it's a husband/wife team, but the wife was the one dealing with staging). She finished "fluffing" last week and asked what I thought. I held back and said "it's ok".
