  1. There was a thread a while back dealing with those. I think there was a list of web sites in there.
  2. Cool! I know what my computer will be doing this evening!
  3. Doh! So there's no drivers for those guns for Vista? And you can't use the WinXP drivers in Vista? If so, that's a pretty crappy way to treat customers. Well, unless it requires a major rewrite of the driver. Supporting legacy hardware forever isn't profitable either...
  4. You would have to find out what the difference is between the old guns you have and the new ones that ACT now sells before you would be able to know for sure. If not, the only way to know would be to open it up and start trying stuff. If you don't know how they work or have a computer engineering background, you might have a tough time doing that. I think there probably is a difference between the new and old guns though. The old ones required the "dual gun" flag in MAME whereas the new guns do not. Other than that, I don't know...
  5. Ohhh....oooh...oooh... Me first! Nologic, your setup files are crap and so are you! Seriously though, I'm thinking of starting over on my cab to uncluge everything, so I'll probably be checking out all of those setups soon. I'll save the real bitching for then.

    Auto-Update

I've been having a problem with it timing out this evening. I wrote it off as a personal problem due to torrent activity, but it's possible it's on Tom's end. I believe it eventually did complete the download and install of 9.10.
  7. Go to the same place you got 9.09 from. www.GameEx.net -> Download GameEx
  8. I don't know if it's expensive to ship to the UK (or if they even do it), but check out newegg. They have an excellent selection (everything essentially), and their prices are very competitive. I've used them to build my last 3 machines. Btw, I didn't know you could just multiply the clock speed by the number of cores to come up with the total system speed

    I don't see the problem...
  10. So it should work with WinME as well I suppose...

    MAME Arcade Cab

Hehe, that's a funny question for the GameEx forum... Actually, if you really wanted to stir things up, you would ask about Maximus Arcade (there's some history on that though)
  12. I was guessing that's what you meant, but I wasn't sure either. I'll go hide in the corner in shame now...
  13. It's funny that you are having problems with your keyboard encoder so you are contemplating switching things over to a gamepad encoder so you can use a software program to remap them to different keyboard inputs Well, it's funny cause I considered for a while buying a keyboard encoder to replace my gamepad encoder to eliminate having to use the software to remap to keys... DOH! It's all circular!
  14. Change the theme in the Configuration Wizard instead of inside GameEx.
  15. Like Brian said, do it however it makes sense to you. I've done it like Brian, but thought it was a bit hard to find certain things and to maintain snaps. I changed from that over to my current experiment: C:\Emu\ -> Roms -----> SNES -----> GBA -----> Genesis -----> ... -> Manuals -----> SNES -----> GBA -----> Genesis -----> ... -> Intro Movies -----> SNES -----> GBA -----> Genesis -----> ... -> ... Everything MAME goes in the C:\Emu\MAME dir. Also, anything else I've set up and is related to Emulation is currently in that directory jugging everything up

    MAME Arcade Cab

I know you already have a working solution with the PC monitor, but the workaround I came up with was to use winlirc and a serial IR blaster. The schematics are available in lots of places and it's pretty easy to put together. The only real problem is coming up with the IR codes. My set wasn't in any of the databases, so I ended up searching quite a bit and using educated guessing and experimentation to figure out what the exact codes were (I wanted discrete codes, not toggle stuff that's easy to find). Anyway, I went with a PC monitor for my second cab The TV makes for a nicer arcade feel cause I have it turn on when GameEx is all up and running so I never see BIOS or anything loading, but when configuring stuff in Windows the monitor wins hands down!
  17. Just curious if DirectX 9.0c is compatible with WinME? You could try a different theme that's super basic. I don't know if GameEx will initialize all the drivers if the theme doesn't require everything.

    MAME Arcade Cab

hehe, an ArcadeVGA card is a card that works as a video card for the PC but has an arcade monitor output (both resolution and connector). They are spendy, but if you want to connect to an arcade monitor, that's probably the easiest way to do it. I've seen circuits people have put together that are supposed to allow you to connect a VGA output to an arcade monitor, but I don't know how well they work, how hard they are to build, or how expensive the components are.
  19. Cool, I'll give that a try. Thanks Brian!
  20. Probably Actually, found a mode I can win! I somehow got into a practice mode where the enemy moved but didn't fight back. I TOTALLY kicked ass in that one! The funny thing is that apparently it's been a while since I set up a single PC game cause it loads fine, but then when it returns, it goes to a listing of the files in the Mugen dir. I'll have to look around at some of Nologic's setups to see what I did wrong.

  22. The last version of ISOBuster that I used was a few years back and it was exclusively an ISO viewer/extractor/editor. I would be pretty surprised if they added virtual CD/DVD support, but stranger things have happened!
  23. Dragons Lair is a cheating BITCH, so I hope so!
  24. I think most people use Daemon tools because it's free and does everything people need. Also, most importantly for FE use, it has a CLI making it easy to incorporate into scripts. I haven't personally tried it yet since I don't have any sets that use CD images ATM. I have used Alcohol 120% and it works fine for everything I have needed so far (but of course it's not free either).
  25. Cool, I figured it out. I didn't scroll down from the main menu when I was playing with it really quick, so I didn't see there were a bunch of options beyond versus and arcade. Anyway, I tried to set it up with my GP-Wiz for P1 and P2 controls, but Mugen only likes so many joystick buttons (16 I think), so that won't work. I set up a XPadder profile and used the default Mugen controls. Works fine...as long as you disable joystick in Mugen as well. Thanks! Now I just need to figure out how to set up the characters I want and the right difficulty. The level it was set at with JCGamers' settings was kicking my ASS!!!!!
