  1. O.k, I compiled a mame 64 bit with direct input & hi scores which works outside Game EX but now I get the same error when launching game ex gameex.ini attached I am baffled, thanks in advance GameEx.ini
  2. Damn pretty obvious huh? lol Thanks for showing me what I was too blind to see. With my old version of mame I edited the exe to include highscores and direct input. Will I need to do this again with the 64 bit version? (If so can you point me to the tutorial on how to do this again as I did it years ago and have since lost the links) Also in regards to the controls I setup within MAME can I copy over files from the 32 bit version to this or will I need to configure it again? Thanks again for your help
  3. Okkk, So I upgraded my PC and installed windows 64 bit. I made a fresh install of Game EX but copied over the entire GAMEEX/DATA folder as well as the Game EXex.ini from my old installation (which was working correctly) Game ex crashes as there seems to be an issue with mame see logs below GameEx log Gameex.ini attached So yeah stuck at the first hurdle lol. I ran mame outside gameex and it worked so I think it may be related to the command line options. Thanks in advance GameEx.ini
  4. Thanks, the most important thing for me was the batch files as I worked TIRELESSLY to get my various complex batch files working. Bah, I think I will do the upgrade, I just know I will have an issue somewhere. While I am on topic, would the best way to re-install game ex onto the same machine be to copy the gameex.ini file and overwrite it in the new installation? (the paths to ROMS etc will not change). Let me know. Thanks
  5. Hi All, Long time no see. So, I have setup about 50+ emulators in game ex on a 32 bit instalation of windows 7 pro. The thing is when I purchased the windows licence it came with a 64 bit installation disk and I have been contemplating using it as I also run new PC games (Guild wars 2, Gears of war, Crysis etc). My question is how easy will it be to convert my settings etc to a new instalation not just from a game ex point of view but also taking into consideration the 3rd party tools, see below xpadder batch files Autohotkey Deamon tools lite gameex joy2key (not so important) cmd syntax (the command line options in mame for example) Any feedback/tips will be great. Thanks
  6. How many more entries are needed to be able to complete this competition? I would make some more but my limited photoshop skills increases the time it takes to make a theme to about 3 years I may try another one but i still have nightmares about the last one, after some therapy perhaps
  7. I had the same issue. I do like the new Gui but I cant use it for my setup (the original one is more practical for me). I would love to see a custom theme done with that new gui though
  8. Thanks mate, I backed up custommenu.ini and gameex.ini and ran the gameEX installer. dont think I even need to backup the file as Game EX left everything as it was. Now I am fully updated Regards
  9. I know this is my fault but here goes. I just had to re-instal my PC again. GameEX is not installed on the OS drive so when I finished re-installing windows I just dragged the gameEX.exe shortcut to the desktop. Everything works fine accept when I do updates, it keeps on asking me and downloading but the game ex instal never updates. I know it must be to do whith where the updater "thinks" game EX is installed. Your help would be greatley appreciated GameEX Log

  11. O.k I am using MAME 0143b, I tested Dead or alive ++, battle arena toshinden 2 and fighing layer, it and it works 100% perfect. Zinc has now been deleted from my system for good.. Good riddance. Thanks guys
  12. I want to avoid updating as I compliled MAME myself to work with some specific features (was not a straight forward thing to do lol), I do have a recent version of MAME but I am not 100% what one it is. When I get home ill check and test some Zinc ROMs and update. Regards
  13. May I ask what version of MAME Zinc roms are fully playable from? (32bit)
  14. Damn I though emulation was slow because it was not a complete emulator. I just disabled advanced config and it now runs perfect. Thanks guys. Can anybody tell me why having "Advanced config" enabled slows this down? You wouldnt believe the pain I went through to get this working full screen, I had a massive issue with the send keys function making this emulator go full screen but after 2 hours of AHK forum scripting I have it working perfect now. My Fullscreen script .exe (AHK) IfWinExist ahk_class DeSmuME ;If DeSmuME 0.9.6 x86 is already open { WinActivate ;Make Window Active } else { WinWait ahk_class DeSmuME ;Wait for a window named "DeSmuME 0.9.6 x86" to load WinActivate ;make that window active } send !{ENTER} ;send ALT+Enter key to program My Emu Config should anyone want to copy my setup [Emulator_13] Enabled=True System=Nintendo DS Category=Handheld Emulator=DeSmuME Version=0.9.6 Rating= DownloadUrl=http://www.gamesdbase.com/setupwizard/emulators/download/DeSmuME.7z RequiredFiles= Website=http://www.desmume.com/ Info=Nintendo DS emulator TITLETEXT=Nintendo DS STARTPAGENAME=[Handheld] Nintendo DS (DeSmuME) StartPageLogo=Nintendo DS Command=DeSmuME.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" ROMFilter=*.zip;*.rar;*.7z;*.nds Database=[Handheld] Nintendo DS configFile= MAPFile= RomPath=D:\Games\ROMs\Game Boy DS SnapPath=D:\Games\emulated\Nintendo game boy advance, DS\Snaps\DS TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= ControlPanelPath=D:\Games\emulated\Nintendo game boy advance, DS\DS Cntrols\Nintendo DS.png WorkingPath=D:\Games\emulated\GameEX downloaded\DeSmuME MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=True Debug=False AlsoLaunch=D:\Games\Ultils\Scripts\FullScreenScript.exe OLDatZip= LaunchBefore=D:\Games\Ultils\xpadder\xpadderGameBoy DS.bat LaunchAfter=tskill.exe xpadder ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic=False DontShowInfo= PlaySelectionMusic=False SelectionMusicFolder= PCGame=False GamesIn7Zips=False PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=True RandomMostPlayed=True CDCheck=False CDCheckFile= RomsInFolders= InstructionsPath= TVAdPath= MusicPath= ImageNotFound= UseDbName= MergeSets= CustomArtName1= CustomArtPath1= CustomArtName2= CustomArtPath2= CustomArtName3= CustomArtPath3= CustomArtName4= CustomArtPath4= CustomArtName5= CustomArtPath5= GameExtenderCustomArtPath= GameExtenderConstants= lastgame= I can finally put the gameboy DS to sleep now yay.
  15. Just a quick update for the person who could not get the samurai showdown controlls working. I managed to fix this by configuring it in the typex 1.4 loader (keyboard keys not joystick). Because I setup my Taito type X without the loader I am only using the "typex 1.4 loader" to configure games that do not work then exporting the settings to my original setup (.lnk's to te actual ROM launcers) Hope that helps.
  16. Hey man, just wanted to know if your solution worked. Let me know
  17. I had this issue when doing my Dark Champion theme but gave up as everytime I updated the standard update screen returned. Is there a way around this or does Tom need to work his magic on this? No big deal if it cant be done but would be nice.
  18. Thank you soooooo much, this works perfect now other than the irotate thing but ill look at that more closley tomorrow. Thanks again
  19. I love you guys. 1 question though, How do I make an advanced emu config that watches both game.exe and launcher.exe? Thanks

    ESC Key in MUGEN

O.k I found out that there is no possible way to change this setting in mugen. The best thing will be to change the ESC in GameEX, How do I change the "exit emulation" key in gameEX? I looked in setup wiz but either I am blind or its not there.

    ESC Key in MUGEN

Yeah I have looked in there but there is no option for changing the back key, gonna go through the config files with a fine toothbrush, hopefully I will find something.
  22. I think I can answer your first question. Yes you can, you need to set the ControlPanelPath=[DEFAULTASSETPATH]\Nintendo NES\Controls Thats an example and then place the image in that folder I think with the same name as the emulator title (I cant check right now I am out and about) I cant answer your other question sorry

    ESC Key in MUGEN

Ahh I see what you mean, I thought there was a way to map ESC to another key while still being able to use the real ESC, like an ESC1 and ESC2 if that makes sense. I think I will look into changing that key in MUGEN, I am sure someone else has had this problem before.
  24. O.k I spent most of today setting this up in game EX and I have a problem lol. I am using the .lnk method, when I launch a game via gameEX it exits back to GameEX, once I exit GameEX I find that the game was actually launched but is minimised. So I have a 2 questions here. - How do I get gameEX to maximise the launched game? lol - How do I code my .bat to rotate the monitor for games that need it? ESC Key in MUGEN

lol sorry mate, posted these posts on no sleep. I want to use a different keyboard key to go back in mugen, lets say TAB for now, I looked in the MUGEN configs and cannot find a way to remap the ESC so yeah your right. How would I set the advanced config to use TAB to send ESC to MUGEN but not exiting mugen while leaving the real ESC key to exit emulation? Thanks in advance
