  1. Hi All, I have just installed gameEX on a new laptop and all is good accept everytime I start gameEX it loads Windows media centeralongside it. Forum search came up with nothing and I am unable to find the setting to disable this in setup wizard. Pulling my hair out here, any help would be much appreciated. 2. Ptinolv you are right this works "To fix that i had to edit the [mapping off] files (from"./Gameex/Config/Emulators/") that were associated to my emulators and set the field MapGamePadExit to False." Is this the only way to fix this though? This would mean I will have to set an advanced config fpor every emulator I have which is a pain in the ass
  3. I am using the most upto date game ex with xbox 360 official wireless controller with the usb wireless dongle. it happens 100% with up-left+button1+button2+button3 for sure Ptinolv - I will try your fix and report back.
  4. Hi All, Long time no see [ ] I have a very strange issue and a search on the forum does not seem to find the same issue. I have removed the "Global escape Key combo" feild from the setup wizard for input settings but whenever I am ingame (any emulator) and mash buttons it will exit back to gameex if I mash hard enough. This is an issue for me when playing fighting games as you have to input a lot of commands quickly and this causes a lot of fights amongst my friends lol. I had a look in the log to see if anything shows but nothing sticks out. I also set "Enable Escape Key Exit" to "no" but this still had no affect. Any suggestions would be golden. Thanks ini.txt log.txt
  5. Thanks Adultery for making this happen. I honestly did not think I would make top 4 due to the high quality submissions I was up against. Thanks guys you rock!!!!!!
  6. Sorry if I missed this in a thread somewhere but the search function did not find it. Has the results of the theme competition been posted yet or is it still open for more entries? I was thinking of doing another theme this weekend but if the competiton is over I wont rush it regards
  7. Is the deadline for this still tomorrow? Let me know Regards
  8. Compatability mode = No apples, So I guess this emulator is dead in the water then, Looks like ill have to get on mess with this. Thanks for the help anyway.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. Xpadder does run from command line and I can see the inputs working while this is on. The odd thing is if I go to the prosystem menu (after launching from command line) the config is correct but only the directional controls work. Its as if its blocking those keys. I ran the emu without 7z both in and outside game ex and the issue remains the same 1 thing I have not tried yet but will test later is running in compatability mode. I will update as soon as I get back from work.
  10. Ok I have been working on this for a while now and have it working. I started from scratch as some things stopped working for no reason but basically I followed Adultery's steps below Also used the original process watch ini above Process1=launcher Process2=game Now "most" of my games work in game ex now. Ill mark this as resolved. Thanks for your help.
  11. hmmm, The keys do not work when launching via command line outside gameex. What does this mean? this emu will never work with controllers via command line?
  12. Hi All, I had this working in 32 bit windows using the below advance config. Now in 64 bit windows when I launch any of the games outside game ex they work but in game ex it just goes back to gameex. runitgame.bat chcp 65001 D: CD "D:\Games\emulated\Taito Type X\Shortcuts" "Battle Fantasia.lnk" taskkill /im xpadder.exe /f log gameex.ini attached I am baffled now as I have tried everthing over the last 2 days to get this working in game ex. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks GameEx.ini
  13. Ah I should have shown whats in that .bat. I use this .bat in conjunction with any emu that needs keyboard mapped to pad, so xpadder.bat is just there to run and load my default profile, see below @echo off cd /D D:\games\Ultils\xpadder\ start "" xpadder.exe "xbox360 P1" "xbox360 P2" /M @echo on I just tried moving the "also launch" string to launch before but the emu fails to load with this. This rings a bell actually as to why I never used launch before because I could not get my .bat files working in it.
  14. Thanks so much for that, it works perfect now. I will mark this thread as resolved as I have 99% of my emulators working in 64 bit now. Thanks again.
  15. Thanks, The controls work perfect outside game ex but when its launched from game ex the only buttons that work is the directional controls. I use xpadder in conjunction with this so the keys are not mapped directly to my controller. gameex.ini attached log runitgame.bat chcp 65001 D: CD "D:\Games\emulated\Atari 7800" ProSystem.exe -Fullscreen 1 -MenuEnabled 0 "C:\Users\Ultima\AppData\Local\Temp\Unzipped7-Zip\Double Dragon (1989) (Activision) (PAL).a78" taskkill /im xpadder.exe /f GameEx.ini
  16. Sorry to bring back an old topic but I have something to add to this as I have the same issue (would prefer to stay away from mess as I always have issues with that.) The reason this does not work from command line is because there is a direct input error that occurs when run like this, see below prosystem.log file [Sat Oct 06 18:20:02 2012][ERROR] Direct sound has not been initialized. [Sat Oct 06 18:20:02 2012][ERROR] Direct draw has not been initialized. [Sat Oct 06 18:20:02 2012][ERROR] Direct draw offscreen surface is invalid. 17. Is this a part of game ex & if so where do I find it (sorry if its in an obvious place, I cant seem to find it)
  18. ok I got a biggie here. The following SSF setup worked perfect in the 32bit setup Advanced Emulator setup - Launch before cmd /c "D:\Games\Ultils\xpadder\SSFXpadderandLaunch.bat "[rompath]\[romfile]" SSFXpadderandLaunch.bat contents @ECHO OFF ::Mounts Image "C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools Lite\dtlite.exe" -mount 0,%1 ::Launch Xpadder CD /D "D:\games\Ultils\xpadder" start "" Xpadder.exe "SSF P1" "SSF P2" /M Advanced Emulator setup - launch after start "" "D:\Games\emulated\sega saturn\SSF_012_beta\deamon tools and xpadder exit.bat" deamon tools and xpadder exit.bat contents @echo off C: CD "C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools Lite\" dtlite.exe -unmount 0 Tskill xpadder Exit Now the problem is Deamon tools is not mounting the image at all. If I mount the image manually before starting game ex all works ok. I think its to do with my command line but its odd this works in 32 bit and not 64 bit. Sorry for the wall of text but I have a very complex setup with ssf and I would love to get this working the same way as I had in 32 bit windows. runitgame.bat chcp 65001 D: CD "D:\Games\emulated\sega saturn\SSF_012_beta" cmd /c "D:\Games\Ultils\xpadder\SSFXpadderandLaunch.bat "D:\Games\ROMs\Sega Saturn\Fighter's Megamix (U).mds"" SSF.exe start "" "D:\Games\emulated\sega saturn\SSF_012_beta\deamon tools and xpadder exit.bat" log gameex.ini attached Thanks in advance guys **EDIT** Just realised the deamon tools path is different in 64 bit windows i.e C:/program files (x86)/deamon tools lite This now works perfectly. just needed to update paths in my .bat files Thanks GameEx.ini
  19. Minor issue this time. Since upgrading to 64 bit I notice in most my emu's when launched I get the mouse cursoe in the middle of the screen which I am sure never used to happen. I looked in advanced config and found no options to change this. Has it moved somewhere else? Thanks in advance
  20. You da boss. The below code worked fine, I guess tskill does not work in 64bit windows? taskkill /im xpadder.exe /f On to the next
  21. Thanks again guys it worked a charm. I have found another issue again lol. whenever I launch any emulator I have xpadder load with a set config along side, the setup is like this Also launch D:\Games\ultils\xpadder\xpadder.bat xpadder.bat @echo off cd /D D:\games\ultils\xpadder\ start "" xpadder.exe "xbox360 P1" "xbox360 P2" /M @echo on Everything above this line works fine. The issue I have is Launch After Launch After tskill xpadder This is not killing xpadder when I exit the emu. I have opened command and typed this in when xpadder is running (also works with tskill.exe xpadder) and it kills xpadder. Game ex is running the command, see runitbat below runitgame.bat chcp 65001 D: CD "D:\Games\emulated\Atari 7800" ProSystem.exe -Fullscreen 1 -MenuEnabled 0 "C:\Users\Ultima\AppData\Local\Temp\Unzipped7-Zip\Double Dragon (1989) (Activision) (PAL).a78" tskill xpadder Again I will be greatful of your infinite wisdom log GameEx.ini
  22. Thanks for the input guys. I have yet another issue now. I have noticed that emulators that have roms in .7z format are no longer selectable in game ex, All I can do is view the games in a list but the option to select/play them is greyed out. Now I know you used to be able to enable 7z support this via the old setup wizard but I cant find this setting in the new one (see attached) I am a registered user by the way so its not to do with that. Thanks
  23. Ah I installed the shark codecs the wrong way. I will start that bit again but as it stands game ex is working due to that theme change I did. Not sure why I had the error but its working now. I will let you know if I get any more issues configuring the other emus. Thanks
  24. Thanks Adultery your on to something. I just changed the theme to a basic one and it loaded. Thing is I installed the 64 bit shark codec and I still got the error. I am trying to use the dark champion theme I made and there are no videos in it but something in the theme gameex does not like. Do you have any other ideas? I will tinker some more on this *Edit* I loaded the theme from within game ex and the theme and mame work perfect???? weird. I have another issue though cosmetic. The main menu in the theme has changed from scrolling up/down to left/right with huge icons. Any idea what happened there? ** Another Edit ** Found the "change view" button. On with thye other emus now
  25. I promise it runs outside game ex. I dont have the mameui64.exe but I have mame64.exe and when I run that (after configuring a mame.ini for rom paths etc) I am able to play games no issue. The reason I point to another mame folder for gameex is to get the artwork and other bits that I dont have in this new instalation. Also this error is exactly the same as when I used mame(32 bit) before which was working before I upgraded to 64bit windows. I notice a lot has changed in gameex since version 11.x could it be a setting I have missed somewhere in gameex? Thanks
